Any news on Transformers the Movie BluRay?
Just wanted to know if anyone has heard when / if Transformers the movie (Michael Bay, live action) is coming out on Blu-Ray?
Seems like now that Universal / Dreamworks, etc. are on the Blu-Ray Bandwagon it would only be a matter of time, but I've not heard any release info.

Since HD-DVD is dying and/or dead, it'd have to happen at some point.

Well the HD format is pretty much dead but the contract was for a year and a half for the Transformers movie so unless paramount / dreamworks is released from the contract or pays some sort of fee then they may be stuck until it's up.
One of the best decisions I made was to wait that retarded format war out until either a winner was declared which blu-ray finally won of course or a more equal decision was approached allowing both formats to continue.
Now the only hope HD campers have is in multi format players or scrap their entire HD collection and buy them all over again in blu-ray titles when and if they are available.
Depending upon how large their HD collection is it's probably better to buy a multi format player rather than just junk them all.

They're re-releasing Chronicles of Narnia on Blu-Ray, so it's likely they'll do the same for Transformers.

I really would like to know whats up with this, as I now own a PS3. I heard may, and I heard its already in the system at Circuit city, but thats the only things I've heard about it. Paramount needs to hurry up!

Well a stand alone blu ray player is a lot to spend right now that does only one thing and that's play dvd's so maybe a PS3 is the way to go for me, gets more bang for the buck that way.
As far as the transformers movie on blu ray i'm curious to see if and what may be better than the HD version in it as I caught a showing of it last weekend on one of the HD channels so I Tivo'd it...it was really impressive in HD.

Re: Any news on Transformers the Movie BluRay?
I honestly doubt it'll look any better than the HD-DVD version. Micheal Bay seems to think Blu-Ray is just better, and well it is NOW because HD-DVD is dead, but as far as quality both were on par with eachother. The only reason both existed was because of a disagrement with the entertainment industry. Blu-Ray is basically a total change from DVD, while HD-DVD is based off of DVD playback and encoding. Honestly HD-DVD probably was the better format, as it was totally backwards compatible with DVD (used the same laser while Blu-Ray uses a blue laser and has to have a seperate DVD laser to play DVD's). Some HD-DVD's had both the regular DVD version and HD version on it.
I just want it on BLU-Ray because I have a PS3 and I don't own an HD-DVD player but because of the lack of Paramount's Blu-ray support I have thought about picking up an HD-DVD player.
PS3 is DEFINITLY the hands down best way to get a Blu-ray player. Most Blu-ray players cost nearly as much as the PS3 and can't play games.

The PS3 is the way to go with BLU-RAY players, because it is VERY easily upgradeable with the latest firmware update to take advantage of constantly evolving special features that blu-ray offers.
Blu-ray with a 1080P hd-tv is amazing, and I can't wait to experience Transformers the Movie in full HD.

Exactly what my tv set is...50 inch Samsung DLP rear projection 1080p tv although they make a 73 inch and that looked really nice too.
I love the 50 inch and I've had it for two years now, it does not feel routine or small in any way and has made a world of difference but wow the 73 inch model was nice.
Anything beyond that size purely becomes ridiculous to me.

Yeah I'm rockin a Sony 46 inch 3LCD rear projection TV that has full HD (1080P) and I really can't wait to see what Transformers looks like on it. I only own one blu-ray right now, Live free or Die hard, which is pretty amazing. The attention to Detail on Blu-ray is downright amazing!

Since I'm saving up for a PS3, I'm definately hoping that they come out with it on BluRay. What's pretty common from what I've seen at work (Target) is that they'll (re)release the original movie just before/while the new one comes out; thus, if I were to guess, when TF2 comes out in either the movies or on DVD/Blu-Ray, you'll see TF1 then as well.

There are some people who claimed to have already seen the film on Blue Ray in stores but I think their confused.
I have seen some Ebay auctions for the film on Blue Ray but I think those sellers are trying to rip people off.
