(RUMOR) Transformers The Movie Score Will Be Released--Confirmed By Top Exec?

If you've been paying attention to the news the last month, the status of the Transformers Movie Score Soundtrack has been a topic of concern.

Well, after creating a petition, and being rather rambunctious toward promoting the release of the score, Chris Knight of THE NIGHT SHIFT has stated that he has confirmation from Senior Vice President at Paramount, Dan Butler that it will indeed be released.

An e-mail from his source:

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: Dan Butler at Paramount
Date: Aug 16, 2007 4:12 AM
Subject: RE: Transformers Original Score
To: Sam Witwicky

There will be a score album released shortly on Warner Bros. Records. Thanks for your interest!

Dan Butler

Senior Vice President

Business Affairs & Legal - Music

Paramount Pictures

It sounds like it is official. But since there is no official statement from Paramount yet, we still need to hold this information as RUMOR only.

You can see "The Knight Shift" for yourself here.

And for those playing the "He is coming..." guessing game, there were a few hints in this article, subtle, but hints if you have a sharp eye, and mind..."He is coming..." Who is he?

Yay! Hope this is true! A Movie score would be a great collectable, a nice souvenir of the film (music is perfect for helping you remember things), and a testament to what fans can do when so many people want the same thing!

"ram" in rambunctious and "mount" in paramount are italicized... but why?!?!?! the plot thickens!

Sounds good but until I see an official announcement somewhere, I have my reservations. Have yet to hear from WB records and the ball's in their court now. I remember when they said a complete Star Wars Ep II score was going to be released, then later it was in limbo, and now it's MIA.

We needed this, and I am glad it is getting released.
I'll probably still need to get it via special order, but it'll still be worth it.

Yeah I was thinking about it while I hecked out the nearby Rasputins. I hope this does happen though.

I personally think the studio just told us what we wanted to hear. Their vague answers like 'it'll be released shortly" and "It's in the works", is a sure sign that they themselves don't know, or care, when the score will be released.
