Thanks to the Official Transformers Collectors' Club we have our first real look at Treadshot with Catgut from their upcoming TFSS 2.0 line. These two are repaints of Transformers Generations Deluxe Warpath and Jida from Takara Tomy's Arms Micron line. The image mirrored below gives us a nice comparison of the TFSS 2.0 figures and their G1 Action Master counterparts.

So, the Micron isn't actually pained, but has more than one plastic color?

Sure is a shame I can't afford him or the rest of TFSS 2.0 right now. I'm really liking how he and Catgut turned out. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to get them by themselves once they're up and in-stock at either BBTS or TFSource.

Is this the actual product, or just a repainted mock-up? Because the Strika head might actually work better for this guy. It still has a bit of this widow's peak that goes against Treadshot's squarish features, but the knobs protruding down would echo his G1 head a bit more than Warpath's head does.

If that's fussy, it's because Treadshot was my first Action Master, and I want this toy to f#*@ing ROCK! I want his face to exude the confidence that comes from being such a badass marksman that he can somehow shoot you to death with a chainsaw (which does look more possible than most Action Masters being able to stand up while aiming their combined weapons anyway).

Looks good, and I understand that a certain much-loved resin-casting-customizer will be making a new head for it, so I cannot wait!

I'm glad I signed up. I'm liking Treadshot a whole lot more than I thought, and I expect to be impressed by the rest of the lineup. I just hope they adjust the deco on Chromedome - the G1/IDW hybrid deco hurts my eyes.

The addition of the Arms Microns was a good call. They come preassembled, right?

They should. :) I'm just anxious with Stylor: being made from S.2 whose instructions contain a nasty error. In short:

Instructions: backpack - thick part of rod - wings - main body
Correct assembly: backpack - wings - thick part of rod - main body

Hopefully the Club or Hasbro catches this.

Hopefully, indeed. :D

For anyone who owns the Jida mold, is it possible to rework it into a gun-esque mode that Treadshot could wield instead of a chainsaw?

No, Treadshot can gun Autobots down from half a mile away, even with a melee weapon.
He's that good!

Or maybe Catgut's the same make as Transmetal Tarantulas's saw blade. They have a similar color scheme.

So, if this is not painted plastic, does that mean that there is somehwere a humongous pile of... sorry... cat guts... orange Jida bodys and black Jida Legs sitting in a warehouse somewhere? Or would they have made a new parts sprue for these?

Considering the tank artillery, I kinda like that Treadshot has a melee weapon to hold, although I agree, if Jida/Catgut hadf a tail that could be turned into a cannon, allowing us to spin him 180* in Treadshot's thand, the transformation would be that much closer to identical. Still a grappeling chain claw weapon cpuld be cool, and useful for an up close fight. And, since Jida's covered in 5mm peg holes... I wonder if there's a useable peg for Energon Starscream's gun (EDIT: Or the spear handle to E Skyblast) handy...

you can make the chainsaw cat into something sort of almost vaguely a little tiny bit like a gun.

Anyone that did the installment payments for TFSS 2.0 - check your card balances! They apparently charged GI Joe club members for their second installment today, and also accidentally charged TFSS 2.0 subscribers in the process.

That's impossible. TFCC never screws up stuff like that.

;)

From Brian @ TFCC:

Brian wrote:Hello all,

Last night we had a hard drive issue that stopped the pre-billing for the GI Joe FSS 2.0 installment payment. When the programmer restarted the billing sequence, it accidentally picked up the installment customers for the TF FSS 2.0. This was a pre-auth only and NO card was charged anything.

We have voided all of the pre-auth's today so you may/may not see these two items if you log into your credit card issuer. Nothing occured with the paid in full accounts. This version of the software can only mail to everyone as I can't seperate out the installment people only. We apologize for any inconvience this may have cause any of our customers. It is now all corrected.

Thanks for your understanding and support,

Brian

I absolutely was charged something. Maybe it'll get reversed tomorrow, but still, definitely got charged something. Typical patronization.
