Cant wait to see this guy on the big screen. I like the pic with all the primes at the end. You should take one with all the Optimus toys. From g1 all the way to cybertron and clasics.

The try me button is used for him to remove his mouth shield when speaking and scar your G1 childhood.

Actually I was wondering what the try me but was for as well. I also want to know what Robo Vision means. Do you look through a hole in the back of his head and see everything through Optimus' optics like Emporer Zurg in Toy Story 2?

Cool gallery 8) .

One of the greatest pics ever(and I'm not even a Prime nut):

Image

One thing: Why does Voyager class Prime get two cool looking rifles that can clip onto his front for some firepower in vehicle mode, and leader class Prime gets a little pistol?

It's not a little pistol actually, it's his arm. It doesn't translate well into plastic, but in the movie, his entire forearm becomes a BFG of doom.

From what i can gather from the Ryan's amazing gallery, he has a Forearm weapon, and a gun that attaches to his arm, but is infact removable.

I like this figure, as long as I don't think of it as 'Optimus Prime' nor a transformer. Really digging the truck, as always (but I still don't think it's Prime enough). Using the fuel tanks as battery compartments is a great idea.

I couldn't care less about the lights and sounds (not worth sacrificing an interior complete with Peter Cullen figure!). Glowing tits and maybe some horn honks aren't that cool in my book.

The automorph thing looks FAIL to me. Pulling a switch to pop up his head? That's actually pretty handy (though hardly 'advanced')! But having the switch split up his chest, one of the only G1 parts of the figure?? That's a punk move. Is there a way to keep the head up and keep the windshields together that doesn't involve opening the chest and screwing around?

Now that I've looked at every picture of that gallery, things I overlooked have killed my enthusiasm. Last time I looked at the gallery, I liked the figure even though I didn't want to, know I don't like it even though I'm trying to.

I really think they should have ball-jointed the head. What's the point of having light-up eyes if he can't look forward nor up due to what looks like backheaviness?

Oh well. I'll drop the 70 bucks on a kickass Lego set instead.

The gun is detachable to deter breakage. Nothing else. That is indeed his forearm BFG of doom.

I think today is the biggest traffic day that we've ever had on the site because of this gallery. It's not as big of a day as I had hoped, but it's certainly close enough. I think we're going to hit around 390,000 pageviews for today. Our previous record was when I posted a gallery back in January of diablien's prototype of Voyager class Starscream. I think we hit around 378,000 pageviews on that day. :D

This is interesting ... look at which galleries are in the current top 4:

http://seibertron.com/toys/index.php?f_orderby=popular

Mind you, I've only been tracking gallery popularity for about 3 months now, but still!

79,540 images of 1,157 figures? Only 20,000 more pictures to reach 100,000!

hi guys,

not sure if this has been asked before but what is the difference between the Hasbro Movie Leader Class OP & the one that is going to be released by TakaraTomy (MA-01)?

No chrome? That's about the only thing this toy really lacks...

I think Takara's has diecast, or something like that.

Hey, are those Mini-Con ports on his feet??

Oh. Well, it looked a little dinky, but since that's supposed to be his arm, maybe it's not so bad.

Hmm, both he and Bumblebee both have "arm cannons", wonder if that's the new thing?

Indeed it is. Apparently their weapons are now fully integrated into their bodies.

Yeah, I believe it goes along the lines of the "why do alien robots that moonlight as vehicles need a spaceship when they can just turn into one?" line of thinking. Yeah apparently they also think that they shouldn't carry sidearms for the same reason, & instead make their arms turn into guns instead. Personally, I would think that would be a bad idea, as blasters & such would require ammo, which would have to be stored in the bot itself, defeating the purpose of integrating the weapons(if a gun is "impractical" due to so many moving parts & having to be integrated into the transformation, how would it be practical to store a bunch of slugs & therefore run into the same problem) or energy, which if I were guessing would be supplied by the bot itself, meaning that should it's energy supply be depleted, the bot could die as well, or vice versa & the bot's weapon wouldn't be very effective when nearing death (think about Dinobot's eye lasers in "Code of Hero" when he was near death). In the case of a sidearm, though, nearing death, a bot could still have a full stock of ammo/energy ready to go, & just like what happened with Megs in the first movie, it can grasp victory from the jaws of defeat(having a hostage dosen't hurt, either).
Yes, I know Prime ended the fight, but untill Megs got the gun, Prime was handing Megs his arse on a silver platter, & afterwards Megs damaged Prime beyond repair....well, for anyone but quintessons, anyway...

If only you could get a leader class Megatron or Ultimate Bumblebee :P

Don't like the flames. I also don't like the kibble on the legs either. This figure is one of the better ones for the movie line but still mediocre for my taste.

You know, it looks pretty good compared to the actual movie version. I liked the design for a bit as I was clicking through the pictures. It made the old one look a bit dated. However once it was next to the masterpiece, it just looked busy and clunky. MP-01 looked sleek and cool where as the movie version looked dumpy with a bunch of stuff sticking out all over the place.

Michael bay was wrong, the flat nose truck might have actually been bigger.

Holy crap, wow!

I was trying really hard not to like this guy, but you've done it again, Ryan. He looks great, kind of like a mix between Laser and RiD Primes, with the detail (and cool rubber tires) of a Masterpiece. Damn. And fine work on the gallery, I must say. Congrats too, on getting a free fig from Hasbro. I wish I was that lucky.

The movie guys are growing on me, I hate to say it... If they release them all in G1 colors I'll probably end up getting most of them...

Tonight there were 4 of this guy at Wal-Mart. He looks okay.

I hate the cheesy-looking color of silver they chose for the chrome areas. Would it kill them to put fake chrome on the grill, fuel tanks, etc?

Needless to say, I left them there.

I am waiting for the Robo-Vision Target exclusive anyway. I like his paint much better, so there is no rush.

They also had boxes full of the real gear TFs too, waiting to be opened and put on the pegs.

Guess that June 2nd deadline means nothing to W-M.

Oh well, so much the better!

Oh yeah, not even ONE leader Class Megatron was there! WTF?!
