ROBO-VISION STORY

Blazing down to Earth's surface from outer space comes OPTIMUS PRIME. His protoform mode is ideal for covering the vast distances between stars, and armored to survive the catastrophic descent through a planetary atmosphere. When he arrives, however, his first task is to find an appropriate disguise in which to conduct his search for the AllSpark. As his scanning beam sweeps over nearby objects, he sees the world in the deep red that tells him his targeting and scanning systems are active. Then, his gaze settles upon the coolest thing he has ever seen. Yes, this will be his disguise on Earth.

What does "super metal finish" mean? Shiny paint?

if the only thing different with this toy is shiny paint, i'm getting this instead of the voyager class Prime.

The link to the Gallery works, and from there the image links also work well.

The thumbnails here also give me an error page.

Anyway:

Except for the packaging it looks pretty much the same as the final version we saw a little while back. The lighter blue, the silver limbs, and the smaller chest/windshield.

I guess the red Vision gimmick is going to add what $5 to the price tag??? so instead of being $19.99 for a normal voyager its going to be $24.99 for the extra scanning content.

Don't know if it will be worth it though. But i'm still getting this mould one version or other.

Whatever, I love the packaging and look forward to this boxed figure joining my collection of other boxed Primes(as well as all the other bots).

I think he'll look good right next to the 20th Ann Prime

I just got a crazy idea.
Could it be that the Super Metal Finish, is alluding to it being a sort of large Titanium figure? In other words could it actually be diecast in some places?? It be so awesome if it where. But being realistic, i doubt Hasbro would go to those lengths.

Jeez, busy morning, right? Anyway, this is pretty cool. Great packaging anyway. But for some reason when I heard 'robo-vision,' I was expecting a Transformers toy that you could look through the eyes of or something and see stuff like a kalaidoscope or something.

Movie figures except for the Protofrom Optimus and Starscream, are scheduled for release in June, one month before the movie.

However some have already started to leak out into store shelves, like Bonecrusher.

but the main stream release should still be in June.

seems this so called "robo-vision" is nothing more than some little decoder you will probably find in your count chokula and frankenberries sometime soon.

You say that as if Count Chocula and Frankenberries are easy to find!

And yeah, the gimmick does seem pretty cheap. If it's going to sell for more than the normal version I'm guessing a big part the cost is probably going to be due to the additional packaging, assuming the normal version is packaged in vehicle mode like the others.

So what's the secret code we have to put in at Target.com?

We don't know yet. It's hidden under the picture of the prime head on the package, and I don't have a decoder. I tried squinting, but no luck.

Let's not spoiler the code before Prime's released.

Maybe I'll get both, crack open the normal version, and keep the Target-exclusive in package.
