Hasbro has released their second quarter profit and sadly it is down. However, it has nothing to do with Transformers. Hasbro has reported strong sales of Transformers and Spider-Man toys. The company has also reported that they sold 240 licensees for products related to the Transformers Movie. Despite this the profit margin was hurt due to one-time costs and a recall of Easy Bake Ovens. To read the full report got to Yahoo.com.

240 licenses...No wonder everything ever invented has a Transformers emblem on it somewhere.

I wonder how bad their losses had have been if not for the strong Transformers and Spiderman 3 sales.

Damn the Easy Bake Ovens! Cookiing by light bulb heat was never a good idea, and now recalls...what happened? Bad bulbs? Bad mixes????

Stop ruining Transformers, Easy Bake Oven!

unsupervised kids trying to stick their hands in a hot oven.

Heard when that happened it would really hurt as recalls tend to do.

Sad that some kids got hurt with the oven but I blame the parents not the company. And this IS a parent talking here.

The recall was cuz of a faulty door, it would get stuck. Then comes fires, and the mentioned unsupervised kid's hands. Heard it on the news.

Not suprised with the loss, really. With the popularity of the Easy Bake Oven, and a recall as large as that, I'm suprised the hit wasn't bigger.

Just goes to show how important the female market is. Transformers and Spider-man aren't exactly geared to both sexes.

...I just had a frightening image of a pink oven Transformer.

Easy Bake Ovens. Easy Bake Ovens. They should have incorporated that into the movie. For example, have them blow up a truck with 'Easy Bake Ovens' on it instead of Furby's since it was the damn ovens that toasted their profits. Poor Furbies. Oh the humanity of it all.

Heh. Easy bake ovens uh? I recall the "Holly Hobby Bake Oven" (decored with the traditional Holly Hobby -- modernizing her wasn't even conceived of back then.) I had when back in the late 70s/early 80s was pretty good. Had very little problems with it. But then, was built alot sturdier during that time. Didn't have all this flimsy plastic.

This is so interesting. I love that we get information on not only the Toys and Characters and such, we get info on the Franchise and it's parent company. What's more, is that a sizable portion of the Fan Base actually Wants this information. This is so cool.

What I don't get is during the X-Mas thru Movie lull, Hasbro did great with no stock on the shelves.

Now with product all over(That folks are actualy buying)they ain't doing so hot?

I don't think this is because of TFs, but if history has taught us anything, it's that Hasbro will make TFs suffer in hopes of kids buying more StarWars lightsaberie crap!
