Could this be the biggest (and most expensive) MP figure so far???

Not gonna lie, I'm so used to seeing WJ88 using that precise image as his avatar that my initial reaction was "Damn, William's become so dedicated to running the news that now he IS the news!".

But anyway. MP BW Megatron? Hell yeah! Should be fairly simple to engineer too, as the original toy isn't that far off.

If takara are doing so badly financially they have been making terrible choices on what to release.

Why release 2 more versions of hot rod when they already had one. Why release a black Soundwave so that presumably every person that wanted ratbat just went 3p?

As a G1 fan is pretty poor from their side that the only MP ive boufht this year is Megs.. i mean i (mid thirties high disposable income) should represent their primary target market and theyve only managed to make a single thing i actually wanted to buy this year, poor show.

Anyway serious question are these Beast Wars outselling normal G1s? I never watche d BW so have no idea of following, market size etc.

They shouldnt hide the T Rex arms, they are show accurate:

 thanks! As a thumbnail I was looking for a pic of Megatron's face and then realized I had the perfect one just for that

You don't know how long I spent trying to find a pic of the show CG model from the back. Looks like the simplified character model makes the arms sink into the skin. Would the Prime1 take be OK with fans on a MP?

But why waste time when I had already provided it?

I meant from before when I said they needed to be hidden. I spent a long time trying to find a shot of him from behind with no luck. Obviously going the memory route proved faulty. #-o

I don't look a gift horse in the mouth on Amiami's part......if the fx rate is stable that would be around $53.00 for the tax TAX (already= to 1 MP car class ouch).

Crybaby wallet busting price is already pushing around (?) Y 21000 Dinobot costs around that range plus SALES TAXES Y 28000, Megs should/could be post PO around Y 30000 max. Lots'a time to save and save Takara and the MP line.

I hope Shinzō Abe lays off anymore taxes domestically or more crybabies down the line.

And just an icing to the cake for snmeheieiwr atedaldlep

from poster "arbit" of http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/4 ... facturing/

Finally some figures to grab on in the JP setting so food for thought nice to know.

According to arbit:

"I thought that we could share our real data here to get to the bottom of it.

I will start with these responses I received from a premium toy manufacturer that is often discussed on this board. I wont name them for confidential reasons, but suffice it to say they are a medium level premium brand, not the best, not the worst:"

"What is the licensing fee: For the licensing cost, it will be ~4-6% of selling price in Japan.

What is the manufacturing cost: Depends on item, but ~55% of selling price will be the production fee (including prototype charge)

How many units have you manufactured of different items? MOQ 3,000-5,000 pcs. If too cheap item, 10,000 pcs is necessary.

How many units do you need to sell to be profitable? if over 3,000 pcs, nearly all items we can start to get profit"

Obviously nowhere near Hb and Takara levels.............

It's interesting how you used this term on the previous page and I asked why you had to be condescending, a question you never answered.

If people choose to react negatively to the price of something, that is there prerogative, it does NOT give you the right to go around insulting them.

Have a warning.

If I remember right from before I blacklisted him he was trying to say that because someone said that an unnamed company that has to outsource all of their R&D and manufacturing has to sell 10,000 units to make a profit that applies to Takara Tomy as well and if Megatron doesn't sell those numbers they'll go bankrupt. This is wrong for a number of reasons since Takara Tomy doesn't outsource their R&D and they share their factory with Hasbro greatly reducing costs. On top of that one MP failure wouldn't be enough to do any great damage to Takara Tomy on its own (which is doing perfectly find and is projecting a better than average first half of 2018, a documented fact). Just look at Tracks and Shockwave, arguably their worst selling new MP molds, they didn't kill the line.
