Hasbro is certainly getting into the Holiday Spirit. Karen Davis, Vice President Of Community Relations for Hasbro was on "Today" with Kathie Lee where she revealed that Hasbro will be donating $150,000 worth of toys to the Today Shows' 18 Annual Toy Drive.

Included in the toys that Hasbro will donate are Kreo Transformers sets, My Little Pony and many others. You can see the video from "Today" here.

Hmm does this tactic mean that they are trying to get kids into the Kreo brand, or is the reason being that Kreo sets are clogging up warehouse space. That is kinda worrying if that is the case for Kreo fans like me. If this means it is not shifting we wont see any more sets.

Or maybe it means they're just donating a bunch of toys to charity. If it's a tactic, then it's for PR. You don't make charitable donations just because you have too much product you need to get rid of.

lol ... don't have much experience with marketing do you?

It will be a mixture of both. Hasbro make a substantial donation, it boosts their goodwill PR while also promoting their products and getting rid of slow moving stock.

Trust me, donating slow moving stock is a smart move.

How long until retailers start donating the Kre-O sets that they can't move?
