Scott McNeil, David Kaye, and Alec Willows together makes me think live script reading.

Gives me hope for Waspinator, Dinobot, even Rattrap.

Now if only the souvenir sets included some figure representations thereof... :D

We got Alec Willows and Scott McNeil, so now all we need are Ian James Corlett and Lee Tockar to round off the voices of the five characters in the main box set.

I don't know how many more Beast Wars voice actors I can handle... (Oh my goodness, I never thought I'd actually think that way lol)
It's becoming expensive as hell tracking down MOSC BW figures for these guys to sign. Especially Scott. I hope he's doing autographs all three days!

TFCC Botcon 2016 Registration To Open In January

by Va'al
We have received a quick note from FunPub and the Transformers Collectors' Club, regarding the registration process for BotCon 2016 - taking place in Louisville, Kentucky this coming April - and how some technical details are ensuring that it will open in January of the new year. Find out more below!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy New Year!

We are still finalizing the registration system move to the new server. This has taken longer than expected due to issues with the old programmer. Their non-cooperation has caused us to have to rebuild the original version of the registration software from back-ups.

We do not want to impact your Christmas funds as we are entirely too close at this point to start registration. The current plan is open registration in mid-January.

We hope this relieves any anxiety you may have concerning BotCon registration and helps with your funds planning.

Thanks for your support and have a great holiday season!

Brian

The later registration arrives the better for me. My funds need to grow further before I can register (and some fast-approaching bills need paying).

That looks awful and is a terrible character choice for a set celebrating the anniversary of the American Beast Wars cartoon, which Big Convoy has nothing to do with.

An update for the BotCon 2016 guest list:

Alec Willows has unfortunately cancelled his BotCon 2016 appearance. Well, I should say that it is unfortunate for those attending the show. For Mr. Willows, his cancellation is due to his earning a part in a theatrical play which will still be running by the time BotCon rolls around. So congratulations to him!

In his place will be the other Beast Wars spider. Venus Terzo, the voice of the original Blackarachnia, will be in attendance during the weekend and ready to sign all of those brand-new Takara Tomy Legends Blackarachnia figures!

Head over to the guest page on BotCon.com for the updated guest list. http://www.botcon.com/BotCon2016/bc16guests.cfm

Him, you know, if there's a Hall of Fame this year, BW Blackarachnia would be an ideal pick for an induction. ;)

Pete Sinclair of Fun Pub & BotCon is going to be on the Cybercast podcast tonight discussing Botcon 2016 and might just give a new look at some of the exclusives as well:

Transformers Collectors' Club Pete Sinclair Drops Hints for BotCon 2016 and Collectors' Club Toys

by LOST Cybertronian
Pete Sinclair from the Transformers Collectors' Club was recently on the Cybercast Podcast and answered a few questions about BotCon 2016 and dropped hints about the souvenir figures and some future TFCC offerings. The following includes a few of the most interesting points Pete talked about.

Here are a few of the hints dropped about BotCon 2016 toys.

  • 9 of the figures uses Combiner Wars molds including the custom class figure
  • The souvenir centerpiece figure does not use a CW mold
  • One of the toys "Uses a not yet released in U.S. headsculpt
  • Souvenir figures will be sold individually outside the troop builder set

Pete also answered a few TFCC questions. When asked if there is still plans for more human characters from G.I. Joe figures, Pete answered that they plan to make "Only Human" Rodimus and Arcee. These figures be carded. More to be revealed at a later date. The next issue of the Club Magazine features the packaging reveal of the 2016 Club exclusive Skywarp. The issue will also feature the 2016 membership incentive figure Ramjet and will have Transformers Subscription Service 5.0 reveals.

What do you think about the BotCon figure hints? Do they give you an idea of what the souvenir figures will be? Discuss your ideas in the Energon Pub.

The highlight of my experience with the Club (besides the archive sale and the opportunity to purchase the Games of Deception box set) has been the Subscription Service. I really hope those reveals are kickass.

ooooh, that means that I could nab the one that I want on bbts and not have to buy a multi-pack; course, that means they'll bump up the prices on all of them

I've had great success waiting 1-1.5 years, and then acquiring the figures either (1) on sale at the Club Store or (2) on eBay. Giving in and buying them immediately has never ever paid off for me.

So, the main set has 5 CW molds, and the custom class is another CW mold.

That leaves 3 more CW molds. Maybe Shattered Glass Checkpoint (CW Offroad with a new head), X-Brawn (CW Rook with a new head), and Autotrooper (Also CW Offroad with a new head, as well as potential troop builder figure)?

All 3 were kind of teased during the sequence where SG Unicron fixes and reformats SG Optimus Prime, Prowl, Inferno, Ratchet, and Brawn in one of the Club's comics.

In fact, maybe Battle Core Optimus will get repurposed as an upgraded SG Nova Prime in the Club's fiction, in which you could make a new "Shattered Glass Ultra Prime" using him, SG X-Brawn, SG Checkpoint, and Two SG Autotroopers. It works especially great if you prefer to use CW Ironhide, Prowl, Sunstreaker, and Mirage with the regular Red CW Optimus.

I'm surprised the combiner wars molds haven't degraded to the point of uselessness by now.

And there's a third party Only Human pack of figures out soon but I can't recall if Joe sized or not.
