Sorry if its old news but we are finally getting Beast Machines released sadly its not a Madman release, its being handled by Sony Pictures and rather than a box-set its being released in volumes. Not all bad, its got a budget price of $14.95 and the DVDs have 5 episodes per disk. No extras announced yet.

Vol 1: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/792962
Vol 2: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/792963

release date of 20 June 2007

Its a shame isnt it, after all the good work that Madman has done for Beast Wars and G1. I'm sure that "Cheap and Nasty" is Sony's DVD slogan, with no extras on these discs, and probably some very shoddy menu's.

I expected these to have a late June release date to cash in on the transformers hype. Just hope that Sony continues to release them after the movie hype has died down, the last thing we need is another Energon/Cybertron style problem.

With 5 episodes a disc at least they are better value than the 2 Energon and 1 Cybertron series DVD's we have had released for similar prices.

ALso they have the wrong Logo, they have the movie one with BM under. ._. I was so hoping for Madman to release these, *sigh* I am just hoping for AEC to be released as boxsets over here.

Much like the movie, the character designd(save BlackArachnia) suck beans.

The story however(in my opinion) is one of the best told in any of the animated series.

Interesting that they used a pseudo-movie style logo for the packaging. I like how they used "Transformers: Beast Machines" rather than the official "Beast Machines - Transformers." That always struck me as being extremely awkward.

Agreed, that is some rather interesting artwork.

I thought this was old news. Anyway, Europe is also getting these discs, but the UK is getting a complete series 1 set and the 2 wolumes have all the first series episodes.

I also noticed the "Their world. A new battle" tagline at the top and the G1-style lettering on the disc name at the bottom, along with the movie-style colouration and overall style... Cashing in on confused buyers much?
