I have all the Rhino editions, but if this set's features are worthwhile(and not just ripped off the 20th movie release) I may just get this.

On several occasions I thought of trading up and getting that Chinesse import complete set.

Why, Collectors sets are nice, and they take up less space. Then again, if this is overpriced, it stays on the shelf.

So now it's up to time and content.

Does it bother anyone else when they say 'Seasons 1-4'?

Is that just me?

I'm more bothered by the fact that Madman's releasing them at all. When exactly do we get them?

I also bought all the rhino editions. Unless someone bought all my seasons I wouldn't buy another set (one box or five). This sounds like it will be better, but I already invested about $200 in the ones I got.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but weren't there 4 seasons to the original US cartoon? Granted Season 4 was all of 3 episodes.

I only bought sason one of the Rhino TF collection and I knew that they'd just make it better 'somewhere down the line.'

I'm glad I waited and will be picking this one up!

No, I know. They're correct in saying so.

It's just, I dunno...Season 4 is amusing, but it plays out more like a straight to video movie rather than a cartoon season of episodes.

Headmasters is more of a season 4 and most people haven't really even watched it.

Good point. I would prefer a complete collection that included a subtitled version of Headmasters since it has a strong contingent of original series characters.

I don't care the extras or other, but the box cover and the designs are rocks! The old '84 box arts, the TF size comparison... Simply this is the best G1 DVD edition i ever saw!

Wait a sec...

THIS ISN'T FOR NORTH AMERICA, IS IT?

Madman is an Australian company, so this is a Region 4 release, not a Region 1 release. These are the guys who put out Voltron in Australia, and they weren't allowed to put Voltron out in North America. So I don't think this will be any different.

Unless you've got a region-free player (which I do, but many folks don't), then this isn't something most USA fans can enjoy.

That box kicks ass. I already have the rhino ones so the only way ill get these is if there are alot of extras.

I'm more interested in that art on the back of the tin with the size chart. Anyone seen it before?

It looks like they may be based off of the Marvel TF Universe profiles.

Man, the boxart looks too awesome to not be available everywhere else.

Like a couple of others have said, this is an Australian release so if you're outside of Region 4 you'll need a region free dvd player to play them.

So don't be quick to rush out and buy them unless you're going to invest money in hardware as well.

This is just kinda a note to the guys saying "this isn't even for the US"

We live in the digital age. Trust in Ebay.

That's how I got the Japanesse series and Armada for pretty much nothing.

Most of us would just order this online anyway, and the way I figure it, as long as it's not from the UK(no offense, just you guys are expensive) I don't see how this being an import is a problem.

It's not a matter of getting it from eBay. You could buy it from "EZDVD" (that's a pre-order link for this set) if you want to (an Australian online retailer, kinda like Amazon), and they'll ship it to you. But really, most folks don't have a player than can handle Region 4. That's how it being an import is a problem; not getting it, it's using it once you've got it.

I really wish we could find out about a USA re-release of G1 (especially if the packaging could look that awesome). Like I said, I could use it, with my region-free player. But most of my friends who want this don't have one. And as far as I see, stories like this one say it's "still in limbo". :(

Does anyone know if there is an intention to release this as a "Region All" or Region Free release of this? I am here in the US, and would love to have this. I have a Region 1 DVD player, and I am not certain if though I tried to get a Region Free player, will it work with my television properly.

Why are there even regions? I though a DVD was the same everywhere.
