I'd heard about this but I never thought they'd be able to pull it off.

Maybe she's pissed of at Jhiaxus because he declared the femmes obsolete and tried to destroy them?

So, we got a dismembered Mech at Arcees feet, Nove Prime in the top, followed by Fortress Maximus, then the Monstercons and then Ultra Magnus? Does that look like Magnus to you guys? I am seriously intrigued by how this is gonna turn out!

Plus I like Milnes pencils.

Decepticlone Soundwave wrote:Wow, she really does look homicidal. I hope she at least damages Jhiaxus a good portion. I really didn't see her coming. At this rate, we'll have a nice collection of Spotlights w/characters we'd probably never see coming in 4 million years. Personally, I'd like to see Blitzwing.

Me too for Blitzwing, or if not him then another Con triple changer. Preferably Octane.

Reading this I get the impression that Jhiaxus has done something to either Arcee or someone she is close to. I think it is likely that she is probably from the golden age, but no on the first Ark given that all of the Spotlights so far indicate that all characters in them are in the current timeline. The only really exception I guess you could say is Shockwave, but even then he has just been dug up.

It might be possible that she was part of one of Jhiaxus experiments and might of been locked away in stasis only to be awoken. Or she could of been like the Monstructor guys, sealed in a pocket dimension thingy and then let out and goes nuts looking for Jhiaxus. That kind of set up would explain why she is potentially on a killing rampage.

Either way I think her spotlight is going to give us further insight into this whole Nova Prime, First Ark, Dead Universe thing.

Read an interesting post elsewhere, Arcee only has a chest piece, not more detailed "breast" pieces, perhaps she isn't technically a "female" in the strictest sense of the word...

I will be very interested to see how Furman writes this book, if it will be all flashback, if it ties into Jhiaxus and Monstructor, or even Stormbringer...

Ah possibilities!

Actually I was reading Simon's blog today about this and in his responses he says that he is going to try and tackle the issue of gender with the IDW transformers. So it might actually be that someone will finally give a reason why a race of alien robots actually has males and females.

Though this could amount to nothing more being a their not really female, just have similar characteristics that make them appear female. Or it could turn out female transformers actually server a specific function in Cybertronian society, maybe not in the same way as they do in human society, but hey, who knows?

I remember seeing in some of the Megatron Origins comics a female TF poster in a pose that you would see on a strip joint sign. Also there was Elita-One and Orion Pax in the funeral scene. Plus I think I saw a female transformer holding the hand of a kid TF in the background. So who knows what we'll see. All I know that if Simon is writing it it's probably going to be good!

It would be cool to have this addressed although many will not want to hear it, either way.

This is definately a pleasant surprise. I wasn't expecting to have such a mix of season 1 and season 3 characters in this series so soon. And both have been done very well. I like your theory about her being part of one of Jhiaxus' experiments or a friend of her's. Maybe she knew the Monstercons before the could become monstructor.

Person on DA: yep is it me or is she look more manly

Markerguru: she does, and thats what simon wanted. i won't say why

Sounds very promising to me!!! ;D

I'm totally agreeing with i_amtrunks all the way. *cheers*

Another idea I had is a little stranger. Perhaps Jhiaxus is the one who created female transformers... and used *ahem* pre-existing models for the first female ones. It could be that Arcee is one of these experiments and this does not make 'her' happy about it once all is said and done.

TRANS-gender-eered? WOW! Interesting theory. Oh the humanity of the Springer, Hot Rod, love triangle just took a very odd twist...

Like I said, an odd theory and I had been sitting on that one because I didn't want to freak anyone out, but hey whatever. The reason I got to thinking that was because of the six Monstructor guys because it seems that Jhiaxus had no scruples when it came to experimenting on other Transformers, no matter what it meant. So I really am thinking that Arcee is either one of these unfortunate experiments or connected to them. Such as a close friend, relative (or Cybertronian equivalent, I really have no idea how this stuff works for transformers) was one such experiment. She discovers their fate and goes berzerk.

Or maybe she learns something else, like some deep dark secret of Jhiaxus and gets locked away for a few eons because of it and when she is finally discovered and released goes on a killing rampage.

Damn it... I like hearing about new comics and stuff ahead of time, but I really would wish they didn't do so when there is like 4 or 5 months before hand. I want to read this comic now!

I wonder was thinking about I am Trunks theory about her being only woman-like. That kind of body would make sense for ninja/stealth operations. And arcee was always supposed to be kinda stealthy. Maybe Jhiaxus was trying to make a perfect spy.

Nightbird...

that would be cool if she were in it somehow.

:APPLAUSE: I am overjoyed by this issue of the Spotlight series! being a character not everybody loves, its a big surprise to see her getting an issue all for herself. And if what Mr. Furman stated in the blog is accurate, I will be double rejoice as I was getting tired of seeing her (and other Fembots) portrayed as a damsel in distress! Give me more Amazonebots! :x :CON:

Interesting to see that Furman compromised his beliefs. Now he's gone back on one of the few things I agreed with him on. It just keeps gettin' worse and worse. Glad I stopped buying comics.
