Lego Transformers: Generation M 2.0

So, it has been a while since I posted anything here, so why not come back with something new (kind of).

Generation M is a personal AU I've been working on for a while now, I've mainly been working on the designs of the characters, but I do have some universe differences, If you want to see what I have so far click the link
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ucd856JicMFi6FZ-eg3kp-29tvQuJJBYqDsgIRuyBo4/edit?usp=sharing

A while ago I posted some models for Gen M 1.0, as I had completed it(or so I thought). 1.0 was just models I had made that were based on the movie toys, repainted to look like G1(and sometimes beyond) characters but it got boring real fast because there was not as much variation.

2.0 on the other hand,I take the 1.0 models and improve upon them so they look more like the character the are trying to represent, while also putting my own twist on them. I have finished 343 separate characters in 2.0 and have another 255 to do so that is a total of 598 characters so when this is all said and done the character count will be over 600, because I know I will have to create some more OC's to balance the teams.

I have also started work on 3.0, well more like 2.5, cause it is just creating alt modes out of these models and only the models, no extra pieces allowed. If you want to see them let me know.

Now with all of that out of the way, I think you guys should see what i have so far. I'll only post like 8- 10 at a time because I want to go a bit more in depth with these, I'll start in alphabetical order minus combiner components, those I want to do together. If there is anybody you want to see let me know and they will be in the next batch, but without further adieu here is the first batch.

Image
Acid Rain: One of the many seeker recolors, very green, but it is balanced by the black and dark grey. While not my favorite of the all 12 of the the seekers(including coneheads), I do like how he turned out. I also really like how the seeker design itself came out, very recognisable but not boring.

Image
Aileron: I'm not really familiar with this character at all, the design did interest me and I think I did it justice, while also adding some new or exaggerating pre-existing elements.

Image
Air Hunter: Such a basic character design with really cool colurs, so I tried to make him more unique by putting his tail fins on his legs and higher up on his back, I also changed the head design so it is less megatron-y like the toy.

Image
Airwave: The first of the Micromasters. Micromasters are weird because they allow me to get a bit more creative design wise since they're super basic toys, yet they somehow take the fun out of making these models. I really like Airwave's colors, the added yellow helps him pop a bit more than of it was just he basic red and white. His design is cool too because it is almost like a reverse seeker, with everything alt mode related on his back or legs.

Image
Alpha Trion: Trion here is probably one of the ones who kept a lot of his original model(which was ROTF Soundwave). The main section I kept was the backpack/cape cause I thought it looked cool and fit the character really well, but the one thing I am most happy with is the head, super recognisable. AlsoI never knew this guy was part of the original 13 primes until pretty recently.

Image
Apeface: Probably one of my most complex looking, when in reality the most complex thing about him is his backpack. I love his design though, it just has this imposing nature to it that, I don't know if I have been able to replicate.

Image
Aragon: Being a powerdasher makes Aragon extremely simple. I made him a bit more interesting by giving him arm cannons and shoulder pads but, he is still very simple.

Image
Arcee: I am really happy with how Arcee turned out. I took more inspiration from the comics than the original cartoon because I like that version of the character better.

So since I have been having such a good day today I thought I should share the love and post some more models, so here is the rest of 'A' and the Aerialbots.

Image
Armada: Now Armada is obviously Armada Megatron, but since there already is a Megatron, I decided to just change his name and make him a part of my AU. The hardest part making him was getting the tank turret to go it his waist, without it clashing with the arm. He is the first of many characters you will see that have been taken from a non-G1 universe.

Image
Artfire:I'm gonna be honest I didn't know this guy even existed until the masterpiece came out and at that point I had thought I had everyone down, apparently not. You will notice that he does not have his targetmaster friend, mainly because i didn't make him. Design wise he is just a more white inferno.

Image
Astrotrain: By far one of my favorites, everything about him is unique but also screams Astrotrain. I think my favorite part is probably his backpack since having the giant thrusters there is kind of a new thing for him.

Image
Atomizer: As another comic book only character(atm anyway), Atomizer has such a cool design so many angles and his color scheme is like an inverse Hot Rod focusing more on the yellow then the red. Replicating those things were not easy but, I think I did a good enough job

Image
Axer: Axer is so different and unique, from his head, that is blocky and wide, to his colors that are anything but Decepticon, I can't help but appreciate his design.

Now the Aerialbots

The Aerialbots have always been weird to me because they are all just robots folded up underneath planes, and they all kind of look the same (with the exception of Silverbolt) so I tried to give them all unique silhouettes when compared to one another

Image
Airraid: For Airraid I decided on arm cannons instead of a regular blaster. I also gave him larger wings on his legs.

Image
Fireflight: I gave Fireflight more of a bulky appearance in the chest and larger shoulder pads, as well as making his plane parts more angular.

Image
Silverbolt: Silverbolt is the most different out of all the Aerialbots just by design so he is very simple looking. The big design changes I made to him were putting smaller wings on the arms and splitting the cockpit on the back.

Image
Skydive: Like Fireflight, Skydive is very angular, but his are a lot of smaller angles that are more spread out and broken up by large sections of flat blocky-ness.

Image
Slingshot: Slingshot is the most unique as he looks more like he becomes a plane and not like he hides under the plane.

Holy cow, these are really amazing! I love the Aerialbot redesigns too, Air Raid is my favourite.

Thanks to both of you, there is ALOT more to come down the line, so stay tuned. BTW is there any one/team(not including city bots) you guys want to see in particular?

Definitely Soundwave & Shockwave. Omega Supreme would be interesting as well.

Can do soundwave and shockwave. Omega supreme not so much as I have grouped him with the city bots since he is significantly larger than the rest, I may end up making them eventually but my focus is on the more average size characters.

Would be cool to see your take on some of the other teams, like the Seacons and the Technobots. :D

Keeping with the weekly uploads, it is time for another batch, this time it is all requested stuff, sort of, so lets get started.

Image
Soundwave: Being his usual blocky self, Soundwave has his signature chest and color scheme(for the most part). The biggest changes to him are the smaller details, like the wheels on his arms and the added red to help break up all the blue.

Image
Shockwave:Hot off the presses(I literally made him last night), Shockwave has his signature look with his cannon arm being on his left and his singular eye, but I also gave him some more bulk so he has a more imposing figure.

Image
Bitstream

Image
Hotlink

Image
Red Wing

Meet, what I have dubbed, the filler of the Decepticon army; Bitstream, Hotlink & Red Wing. These are all seeker repaints that just kind of exist. Literally the only thing special about them is their colors.

Now for the Seacons, probably some of the weirdest transformers, but they were some of the most fun to make, also I combined all of their colors so they are more color coordinated.

Image
Nautilator: First up is Nautilator, he is one of my favorite looking of the 6 of them, He looks super bulky and that he could do some damage if he needed to. I think it is his backpack, because it reminds me of missile launchers that are sitting on his back.

Image
Overbite: The skinniest looking of all, he is also the most curvy looking of all of them which is interesting considering two of the others on the team have large curved pieces.

Image
Seawing: Speaking of curves, Seawing here is one of the two I was referring to. He has these giant curved wings that make him almost seeker like. He also looks like he could be a bruiser and because of that he is definitely one of my favorites of the group.

Image
Skalor: Skalor is very basic, like Overbite there isn't much to him design wise, although I feel like Skalor has more going on with his backpack.

Image
Snaptrap: The leader of the Seacons is interesting because the only things that make him stand out from the others are his shield and backpack, cause if you took those off you would just have a very basic design, even more so than Overbite or Skalor

Image
Tentakil: This guy is probably the most unique of all of the Seacons just because of of how his actual toy transforms. Tentakil is cool looking, at least from the front, since you can't tell that there are just legs hanging off his back. I might work with those a bit in the future so they don't look like legs, but for now I'll just leave them. Also it looks like he is wearing a jacket.

Woah, that was quick! Absolutely love that Tentakil and Snaptrap. You really know how to put your own twist on these characters :D

Thanks, It was always my plan to post some more today, you guys just so happened to request stuff beforehand so those are the ones I posted.

BTW the technobots will be the next post, I just wanted to keep to the rule I gave myself of only 8-10 characters a post

It has been another week, so that means it is time for another post, and as promised, it is the Technobots as well as some others so let's get to it.

Image
Wheeljack: My personal favorite character, I figured he was a good counter since I did Shockwave last week. I think he turned out great and I somehow found a way to include all of his signature features.

Image
Blaster: The obvious counter to Soundwave, Blaster turned out a lot bulkier than his Decepticon counterpart, but I think it works since he doesn't have any type of shoulder weapon. He has his classic color scheme(not like I would ever get rid of it), and while I did make some changes I think he still screams Blaster.

Image
Nitro: Another non-G1 character, Nitro here is Cybertron Override. I don't know why I chose to go with the american version of the character, I just did so Nitro here is female (if you want to know if a character I post here is female or not look at the upper leg pieces, if it is cylindrical they're female, if not then they're not.) I think she turned out great, all the necessary details are there as well as some new ones.

Image
Clampdown

Image
Deep Cover

These two are very much like the seekers of the last post except they are recolors of Sideswipe/Red Alert instead of Starscream, these guys have cool names but other than that they kind of just exist. It is a shame to because they actually have decent color schemes (well they do now at least)

The Technobots: One of the most interesting combiners because there is no unifying factor among them other than they are smart. No unified color scheme like the Constructicons, and no unified theme in the alt modes, like any other combiner team ever.

Image
Scattorshot: The leader of the group, Scattorshot is kind of basic looking but he does have the giant alt mode cannon on his back, and the wings on his legs. I do really like his color scheme with the two shades of red and the off white.

Image
Strafe: Probably my favorite of the group, all the angles really work with the rest of him, giving him this really unique silhouette, also his weapons can be mounted on his back, I just didn't put them on

Image
Afterburner: Depending on if you want cartoon accurate or toy accurate, he is either red or orange. I chose orange because I like it more, I feel like it gives him some uniqueness in a sea of reds(and Nosecone). It was a pain to get the back wheel in the center of his back, I don't think it is perfectly center but it is close enough.

Image
Lightspeed: Trying to make Lightspeed look interesting was, a little bit of a challenge, since he is just another car that stands up to become a robot. I ended up giving him spoiler wings and grills

Image
Nosecone The odd one out, Nosecone is neither red or something that goes fast. Despite all that I do like how he looks though and his color scheme is the most dynamic of the bunch.

Just keeps getting better! My favourites from this bunch would be Blaster and Afterburner :D

So i know I missed a week so I decided that you would get two batches this weekend, one tonight and one tomorrow. So now without further adieu here is today's batch.

Image
Backstreet: I think I may have gone a bit overboard when designing Backstreet's shoulder cannons because they are a little large, but I like them, i think they fit.

Image
Beachcomber: Beachcomber is very simple but, it works for the character. I decided to keep the white accents that had been added to Beachcomber toys previously because I think it breaks up the blue and grey nicely.

Image
Bluestreak: Bluestreak is very different from his G1 self, as I have replaced the most of the silver with a metallic sand blue. I think it livens him up a bit and makes him more interesting to look at.

Image
Blurr: Next is Blurr, who as you can tell is made up of various shades of blue and white. I had a really had a really hard time balancing the colors. I've always liked the design of Blurr and I think I really nailed it.

So... next up is something a bit more interesting: Optimus Maxima. This team was a team I created just to balance the teams. You may be able to tell that this team consists of genderbent versions of popular autobots. There also won't be explanations or comments cause I really don't know what to say about them

Image
Rion/Genderbent Optimus Prime

Image
Alloy/Genderbent Ironhide

Image
Flare/Genderbent Sunstreaker

Image
Melody/Genderbent Jazz

Image
Pursuit/Genderbent Prowl

Image
Scarlet/Genderbent Sideswipe

Ooh, a 6 bot combiner? Interesting take considering the original Optimus Maximus only had 5

The reason for that is that my version of the Megatronia combiner is six bots as well and I like to keep the scales balanced.
