Meh, the Takara Legends Targetmasters are part of the problem IMO. They started the whole "All gun modes have the same basic engineering and arrangement of limbs" thing, and Aimless' shoulder details come from Hasbro copying the Legends toy instead of looking at the 1987 version.
Oh, YES! I was hoping that Astrotrain being Leader-class would mean he was finally getting a tender!

While I do take issue with the shape, my criticism here was more with the colours.
I'm more bugged by the face choice than by the splotchy battle damage paint.

The point is that it guarantees which characters you will get. Others may happen if hasbro wants it to, but at least you can be assured that the winners will happen and happen first.
I dont see anything wrong with that. I wouldnt want to live a world where a character losing means I will never get him.
Yeah, the polls aren't "winner take all". They're more a way of gathering interest & demand data.

Astrotrain was more in Blitzwing's size league anyway, even if he played the same role for the Decepticons that Skyfire did for the Autobots. Looking at the pics, his robot mode is probably Voyager-size - the loco-to-shuttle transformation looks to be identical to the original toy's and the robot mode looks likewise similar, meaning that his locomotive mode's new tender isn't part of them by default.
As for Crosshairs...
I think the closed vehicle mode back and chest slope of SIEGE Ironhide make him work better than TR Kup.

Those have been a thing for a while, and it seems to be his only tooling difference from Ironhide. I would say that Ratchet's altered leg shell pieces are more interesting.
