So at this point is it safe to assume the following?

WFC-S34 = Ratchet
WFC-S48 = Spinister
WFC-S49 = Crosshairs
WFC-S50 = Apeface
WFC-S51 = Astrotrain

Still got 44 - 47 out in limbo though. :-?

I nabbed Siege Springer today and damn am I impressed. I didn't thing it'd be possible to usurp T30, but he did in every way. Tight joints, dense plastic, a complex but fun, satisfying and surprisingly intuitive (for a triple changer) transformation. Can't recommend him enough. All modes are solid and interesting to get him into. Bot mode has fun posability and he comes with a tone of accessories.

Wave 4/Q4 (October 2019)

If they now try to throw in a 5th wave at the end of 2019...does this mean the 2020 line gets pushed back to starting in Spring/Q2 of 2020, or are these wave 5 releases going to be very limited and extremely hard to find tail enders echoing the woes of past lines??

There hasn't been any confirmation of which line they're a part of. Screen Rant only said "War for Cybertron." TFWiki has created new Siege waves for these figures, while some other news sites have speculated this is for the 2020 line. I'm sure it will be clarified at SDCC, if not sooner.

That's exactly what I hope, too. I'm waiting for Snapdragon since Titans Return now. I only care about Apeface because he means we will get a Snapdragon (this time for real, not like in TR where there was only a Titan Master for Apeface).
I mean Apeface doesn't look that bad but the robot is just nice to me, the jet mode is just a square tile with wings and a cockpit and the beast mode is blocky and carries his vehicle parts on his back but still looks kind of cool. I think the colors do him a lot of favor. But I have to say I love his ape head. Still not enough to want him. My Snapdragon will end up with a tiny Apeface sidekick

Lunatic Prime, I was about to respond to your comment about the Apeface Headmaster transformation, but when I went to "quote" your post, I noticed you had stealthily deleted the reply to me altogether, lol! I guess that means you came to understand yourself what I meant when I said this new solution doesn't work exactly the same as the G1 version, but still has a similar spirit to it, yes?

Or maybe they'll continue using this site and feature for the next part of the trilogy, and they'll continue the same numbering scheme. There's evidence either way, and we'll know soon enough.

I have a very simple question: if Hasbro wanted to announce these figures as part of Siege, why didn't Screen Rant do that? What value does it have for Hasbro to not call that out?

I'm telling you, they're going to announce the next wave at SDCC, or NYCC at the latest.

Definitely prefer the route that Takara did with the Legends line, but still bummed there was no Nightstick or Fracas released.

Meh, the Takara Legends Targetmasters are part of the problem IMO. They started the whole "All gun modes have the same basic engineering and arrangement of limbs" thing, and Aimless' shoulder details come from Hasbro copying the Legends toy instead of looking at the 1987 version.

And me and my older brother it was always like he had Skywarp and Sideswipe I had Starscream and Sunstreaker it just takes me back :D

While I do take issue with the shape, my criticism here was more with the colours.

I'm more bugged by the face choice than by the splotchy battle damage paint.

The point is that it guarantees which characters you will get. Others may happen if hasbro wants it to, but at least you can be assured that the winners will happen and happen first.
I dont see anything wrong with that. I wouldnt want to live a world where a character losing means I will never get him.

Yeah, the polls aren't "winner take all". They're more a way of gathering interest & demand data.

frogbat wrote:My only complaint bout astrotrain thus far is that he’s not a commander size version to go toe to toe v jetfire and that like jetfire, I already have two previous incarnations.

Crosshairs... would hope they give him a battle master add on! Was hoping for a kup repaint but this will do. Hope to acquire the g1 version one day.

Astrotrain was more in Blitzwing's size league anyway, even if he played the same role for the Decepticons that Skyfire did for the Autobots. Looking at the pics, his robot mode is probably Voyager-size - the loco-to-shuttle transformation looks to be identical to the original toy's and the robot mode looks likewise similar, meaning that his locomotive mode's new tender isn't part of them by default.

As for Crosshairs...

I think the closed vehicle mode back and chest slope of SIEGE Ironhide make him work better than TR Kup.

If we're talking 44-47 they should be BMs or MMs if Hasbro's secret code site is to go by. I can't seem to be able to keep up with this thread and was wondering if I missed any rumors or leaks.

Can't say I'm not disappointed in Crosshairs as a Ironhide redeco though. Unfortunately it's probably the best we'll see of that character for a while though.

I'm good with TR Astrotrain, but I am impressed with what I'm seeing here. Doesn't seem to be a partsformer either.

Apeface and Spinister though, on my radar ;)^

All rightie...

Everyone has already said the things I'd have wanted to say, except that a 4th wave with new figures in the larger Classes is kind of surprising, let alone new molds, but I guess it makes for a smoother transition into the next line without any major gaps.

Crosshairs is... interesting from a tooling standpoint. He's not merely an Ironhide retool, but an alternate head retool it looks like. Ratchet has some reshelling done akin to CW Dead End into Streetwise.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

Anybody else get Greenlight in the mail today? I got her and something is really off with her new arms. They don't clip in anywhere in vehicle mode and her hands prevent her back wheels from touching the ground. Anyone else have this problem or am I doing something wrong?

Also I'm super happy about Apeface. I didn't want the KFC one because of size and price, but I was getting tempted because there were just no other options. This will save me so much money.

Of course you can repaint every apelike Transformers into Optimus Primal. But would it make sense? I mean we already got one in PotP. And which one in particular do you mean? Optimal Optimus maybe because of the jet mode but none of the modes really resemble any of his characteristics. Regular Transmetals Optimus Primal didin't have a jet mode but a hoverboard and regular Optimus Primal ... I don't really see that.

While I am not a huge fan of redecos, Quake is one of the best ones out there and one of my main arguments that redecos can be good if done right. I really love how they pulled off the different colour schemes for his two different modes while using someone else's mold. I wouldnt want that toy discarded, I would rather any effort spent on a quake redo be spent somewhere else.

You know what, there is a good point here to be made. The numbers start with WFC which work for the whole trilogy.

DR0hNO wrote:IS it me or could ApeFace be repainted as Optimus Primal? also, all but Crosshairs looks meh at best

Please no. People are already showing disdain or uninterest here for the one redeco we are getting, I imagine it would only be worse for a beloved character/franchise that always gets the shaft from hasbro.

Wolfman Jake wrote:I'm very happy to see Astrotrain and Apeface at last after that store inventory leak months ago. Astrotrain looks AMAZING, too. I loved the Legends version of the Titans Return mold already, but this one is just PERFECTION! My hope is that he's about the same size as Titans Return Blitzwing and Octane. I have a feeling that the Leader Class price point has more to do with parts count and complexity of assembly. This is almost like getting a cheap Masterpiece figure in a regular retail line.

Apeface looks great too. It looks like he's definitely compatible with the Titans Return Titan Master system. I'm pretty sure the Titan Master for robot mode fits into the back of the beast mode head to fill it out. It's not exactly how it worked in the original G1 toy, but it's close enough, without having to engineer a new kind of modern Headmaster unit with two different faces. We can only hope they've got Snapdragon waiting in the wings to be revealed too.

Spinister is not surprising, given that we found out that one of his Targetmaster buddies, Hairsplitter/Shrute, was part of the upcoming "Skywarp" gift set. I have a sneaking suspicion we might soon see a "Singe" Battle Master as well. I guess Hasbro REALLY wanted Spinister to win the fan poll last time. That makes me think that we'll be seeing a new Deluxe Class Wheeljack in the not so distant future, whether it's part of the tail-end of Siege or part of the 2020 War for Cybertron line, maybe along with Needlenose and Tracks?

Crosshairs is a very welcome surprise. The reuse of the Ironhide mold is fine. It does the job pretty well, all things considered. I hope this means we are also getting a Pinpointer Target Master as well.

Is there any indication that these are the ONLY new reveals for SDCC 2019? Or are these just a taste of what we're going to see? If nothing else, I hope we get the official reveal of the "35th Anniversary" repaint figures and the Micro Master multipack we heard about a while back.

Siege really has shaped up to be a great line for Transformers. It's just as exciting, maybe even more so, as when we were in the midst of Titans Return. More please! ;)^

Glad you liked the joke. Regarding Greenlight, I found this unfortunate photo online of a delivery:

Everyone has already said the things I'd have wanted to say, except that a 4th wave with new figures in the larger Classes is kind of surprising, let alone new molds, but I guess it makes for a smoother transition into the next line without any major gaps.

Crosshairs is... interesting from a tooling standpoint. He's not merely an Ironhide retool, but an alternate head retool it looks like. Ratchet has some reshelling done akin to CW Dead End into Streetwise.

What's so interesting about him being an alternate head retool? :???: Those have been a thing for a while, and it seems to be his only tooling difference from Ironhide. I would say that Ratchet's altered leg shell pieces are more interesting.

I was under the impression that Hasbro would go one style of retool for any figure (mostly head swaps), and stay there for the line, but with Ironhide they did both an alternate head (Crosshairs) and a reshell (Ratchet). I may have worded it a bit wrong, but now nothing's off the table for retooling anymore. CW shenanigans? I hope not, cataloging them was a nightmare.

Also, we can haz Pinpointer... as a retool of Firedrive? :-D
