These complaints are absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary I would understand and agree if they were only straight repaints with no new tooling like Getaway but these two are not their pretty much new while using a base figure and changing a lot of the mold.

Just like Broadside from Alpha Trion or Optimus and Takara Ginrai from this line or Dead End to Streetwise from Combiner Wars.

I'm not completely cynical. Retools are better than repaints and I'm especially excited for Windblade (I have this weird rule to buy all her toys in some form) but it's still slightly annoying.

I am sure we wouldnt be having this discussion of seeing these same comments if these were revealed months apart. The only reason it looks tiring is because they are both revealed at the same time right next to eachother, so its hard not to look at them and see the similarities. If one was instead released in wave 1 (instead of Blurr for instince, or Scourge) I dont think we would hae the same complaints.

Maybe Hasbro used some of the same pink plastic in the sprue that was used for the pink plastic of Misfire's body to create his headsculpt, as a cost-saving measure to keep within their allotted budget for these figures.

Misfire's head is the wrong color.

I hate that. I hate seeing that and thinking, "Well, I'm sure Takara will do it right."

Yeah, it's a pretty hack job (I rushed it rather a bit), I took some liberties with the gun because I felt it needed some more variety there, and it doesn't fix the derpy face... but the general idea is there! I hope it at least helps to bring out some more of the figure's potential - or makes people more disappointed that it wasn't like that in the first place. One or the other.

(Maybe later I'll go back and "fix" that two-toned pink that's bothering me so much).

A: I find it's easier to swallow shared molds if they at least become parts of different wholes (i.e. Alpha Bravo is the same as Blades, but Superion and Defensor are still different). Still wouldn't be my first choice, but I can live with it, particularly since they can Scramble. TR figures are wholes unto themselves with their other level being smaller and removable rather than larger and buildable, so in some ways the sameness stands out more even if there's less of it.

B: As much as they may have reused molds for CW, I don't think they ever used the same one twice in the same wave. (Unless you count the box sets, but I'd argue that's not quite the same.)

Fair enough, plus they make great custom fodder. One look at Shapeways and you see so many upgrades.

Although for B they did use the same figures within a few box sets. G2 Menasor and Superion doubled up, Liokaiser had two Brawls and Unite Warriors had doubles for Superion, Menasor and Lynxmaster. Not a dealbreaker, but it is a flaw.

I also think Sureshot nailed it in another thread he and I were talking in about this: the current "G1 figure with articulation" move is also tiring. There isn't as great of creativity as before. The titan master class has proven to be the more interesting class with its reveals as of late.

Also, Broadside is shite compared to Alpha Trion seeing as how Broadside's aircraft mode is utterly ridiculous, Ginrai was cool but the Dead End/Streetwise was really neutered after both molds got lots of repaints. and the same is happening with parts here.

I am good with Domey and Blurr sharing thighs, but when it comes down to 4 figures sharing over half their bodies, then it feels kinda suckish

Lack of creativity is what the fans want apparently this whole damn G1 Collector focused line exists because of a large group of fans I mean come on how else is it supposed to be done you want creativity and something different then go collect the Rid and the upcoming movie lines since that's what it's supposed to be for.

Owning Broadside myself I can say he is pretty darn good actually in Bot and Boat modes the jet is different but you can justify it as a bomber vehicle or change the legs to make a different looking jet.

Not talking about the repaints for Dead End and Streetwise just these two and if that's all that existed no one would be giving a darn about it we only got worn out once it started getting into the second half of the line at least from what I saw.

Are you really talking about the part sharing from these three cons look at them!





The jet modes are so vastly different they don't even look like their the same mold in fact the only thing the same is the legs which in of itself are pretty darn unique legs with the fins and the hands like what is the bloody problem!

When was the last time we had retail versions of G1 Slugsliner, Triggerhappy and Misfire or heck where were the previous versions of G1 Sentinel Prime, Doublecross, the headmasters as headmasters, a non earth Galvatron, Sharkticons, good molds of Octance and Blitzwing?

We should be giving Hasbro our gratitude for how generous they have been when they could just be putting more effort into modern series like Rid and making them better instead of juggling all these different lines and having resources split into different projects!

And even then the Energon version looks pretty different in bot mode especially with drastically different colors and a much more interesting but still different head sculpt.

I guess your right I see your point but if it was me I would of googled it up anyways what harm is it to refresh your knowledge to make sure your correct every once in awhile.

It's why I know so much about the production of the Bay movies (and finding people on the internet to make them tell me but we don't talk about that here)

Anyways it could always be worse we could of got these instead. (whipped these up in two minutes)

I know how you feel: to this day I can never remember which Autobot Targetmaster has what name or even partner.

Slugslinger remains fairly unique with his double cockpit, but do you guys know who else has that, aside from redecos?

I actually kind of like his guns not being mirrored copies of each other. It sets them apart from other TR weapons - kind of like Scourge's guns did - and while they don't match if you sit them under the wings it's not the end of the world. They're still less unbalanced-looking than the CW jets ended up with, and if we're lucky there might even be a central mounting point so they can sit symmetrically at the middle of the jet, instead of one on each wing.

...Though given how Triggerhappy fared with vehicle weapon-mounting options, I'm hesitant to be optmistic on that last part.
