Thanks! Though I'm going to have to shelve it for a while, as I'm bubbling with badly contained politics at the moment. It'll be back.

Well I am Australian. It's kinda what we're known for.

Yes. Now go to your room and don't play with yourself.

Stuartmaximus wrote:I dunno about that? coz i'm getting the impression that people in general are holding off on getting Sky Shadow in order to get that mold as Overlord or to go even further...prob hold off til the Takara Tomy version comes out & if that's the case...it'll prob be something along the lines of what happened with Generations Roadbuster....meaning that he was in plentiful supply...and just shelfwarmed...coz noone was interested in buying the figure, or they had bought it & there were far too many of them left over, so just shelfwarmed

Qwan wrote:So is Legends Bumblebee old news yet, or am I allowed to gush about him still? Because holey moley, I love this little guy and I'm not even too sure why.
I was messing around with him the morning after I got him, still feeling disappointed that of all the Wave 3 Legends, he was the only one to turn up so far - when I guess I triggered this memory. Back to me as a young child (probably around 7, so let's say 2006-ish?), wanting a G1 Bumblebee toy more than anything in the world, to the point that I can still remember this one dream I had where I found him in a store and it was the best thing in my life.
Of course, this being 2006 and me being the tender age of 7 I never actually got one, but it made me realise that this Bumblebee is basically the closest update we've gotten to that original toy, well - pretty much ever - and my love for him all of a sudden increased tenfold.
Small application of silver/black Sharpie to the wheels and license plate, and he is looking pretty much as perfect as he can. I was actually a little apprehensive about painting the hubcaps (heh) since I thought the black/yellow balance was really good as-is and didn't want to mess that up, but he undeniably looks even more class with the extra details - especially in car mode.
Cobotron's and Autobot N's suggestion of flipping the arms is a great one and it makes the robot mode look even better - but having done so twice I'm probably never going to do so again for fear of damaging the balljoints (elbows are starting to feel a little looser and I think his shoulders are beginning to show stress marks from the constant ball-joint-popping).
And finally, a little bonus extra. In preparation for the Chase version of this mold hitting soon-ish, and in case anyone wanted a more "accurate" robot mode for that, I finagled a little something to hit the approximate mark:
Now if only I had a second 'Bee, and a gold Sharpie...
RAR wrote:Roadbuster is a strange one as he's not actually a bad figure - In a UK sense though it seemed Whirl was the shelf warmer on that wave not Roadbuster. I was not personally paying a great deal of attention to the on shelves situation as I actually bought both the Takara and the Hasbro ones very cheaply online before I ever even saw a boxed one at all.

That arm switching (and sharpied details) sure makes the figure look a lot less crappy. Forearms are still stubby. Shame there's no way of doing that and keeping it transformable without having to detach/reattach again.

Maybe Hssbro is holding back Six Shot because retailers are back logged with leader class toys.
While out I saw PMOPs and Blasters at the Walmarts and TRU I visited. We are just now seeing saturation of Wave 1 leaders that were meant to be on shelves for Christmas, and Wave 2 is just arriving. I don't think any of this has to do with Hasbro. Once the merchandise is in the hands of the retailer (the minute it reaches our shores), it's on them to distribute it. They are the ones not handling it well.

To be fair to retail, I don't see Leader class CW Skywarp and TR Blaster and Soundwave as "Quality Must Have" figures so it's no shock that they're shelf warming and slowing up the rotation of other figures in the Leader Class line that may actually warrant that $45-$50 price tag.
Hell up until the reveal of the upcomming Phase 6'ers, I've only purchased 2 Leader class figures since its debut (SkyFire and UM). My fear is that this my put retail off from buying Leader class figures in the future due to their abysmal hit or miss track record. Jetfire was repainted 3x's and they couldn't give that Armada Megatron away. Yet there are quite a few characters that rightfully deserves the Leader Class treatment.
