Maybe that forced them to go back to Megs rather than get a new voice actor and have them sound different (not that Galvatron really said anything in AoE ) I could see Galvatron 'shedding' his new human-given form and name and reclaiming his old name and Cybertronian body-style out of pride and vanity

No, no, Galvatron was voiced by Frank Welker. It was Nimoy in the G1 movie.
