That doesn't bother me. The wind screen look does look cool. But I guess those scannable stickers are to blaim for that.
I didnt think of the scannable stickers. Though that cant be all of it since on smaller figures, it ends up in other places than the chest. Also, fewer have this type a chest than one may think. Case in point, here are a slew of decepticons that dont:
But for those that do, what I thought about the design was that the windshield chests gave the designs a sense of continuity to the Transformers brand as it goes in such a different direction with these beastly robot modes. The designs are out there (werewolves, giant lobsters ect) but that chest gives them the remnant of the fact that they are Cybertronian in origin, that they are Transformers. It grounds the design. I especially love it when it turns out to be a real chest rather than a fake piece. Hence why I love that Steeljaw mold.
Also, isnt it fun how the fact that fewer people care about these toys actually makes these botcon events more fun because no one spoils their reveal in advance?
