The deluxe is more traditionally proportional, yes, but if you've seen the show, Prime is very bulked-up like the Voyager. It's pretty accurate in that way.

One thing I have to say which makes any of the flaws seem insignificant is that Prime is still leagues better than any of his DOTM molds.

I agree, I'm really impressed with how accurate most of these figures manage to be

Not really, I mean like, the Voyager's proportions are way more accurate to the show if you ask me, but it's true that the Deluxe's paint apps are better.

I agree. I don't even see the debate between the deluxe and the voyager. The Voyager TF: Prime OP just ripped the face off of the deluxe Prime and all of the voyager versions from the films IMO. ;)

Bulkhead looks fantastic as well.

Both are extremely good looking toys. Voyager Optimus makes buying the Deluxe completely out of the question for me. But are you kidding me -- the Deluxe has silver wheels and the Voyager does not? What the hell?! And now I have to worry about the US release missing even more paint apps.

you're crazy. the deluxe doesn't even hold a candle to the voyager. it's like night and day. pretty much everything that the deluxe does, the voyager does better. the chest alone should make people want the voyager over the deluxe.

That Voyager Prime is looking fine to me, and while the truck form I'll admit is a bit lackluster, it's still okay, and the bot mode's mold looks great in my opinion, regardless of missing paint. This is just food for thought, but don't completely rule out the possibility last minute paint apps, no matter how minor. Leader Prime for RoTF appeared to have the shoulder finials red for the longest time right up to its release, but they were changed to a proper silver right before it was put out.

...which almost made it look sillier next to all the unpainted gray that should have been silver. I would definitely not hold my breath for more paint apps when stores here get them. Even in the example you give, you're talking about a separate piece, which makes it easier for them to paint. On this toy, it's more detail work.

I'll be painting the wheels on mine for sure. Maybe the grill while I'm at it. I'd love to paint the fake chest around the windows, but I think it will probably be too much of a pain in the neck to mask off and bother with. Maybe the stacks, depending on what kind of plastic they are.

Or maybe the Takara release will have those things painted, in which case, I'll just get that.

Dual guns I don't care about but I would like to see dual swords. I also like the fact that it looks like he has a nice trailer hitch. *holds breath for 3rd party trailer and bonus swords not made out of soft plastic.

Ugh, I find myself as the minority more and more. The chest sections of these Prime figures all look terrible. BB, Deluxe Prime and Bulkhead just look strange with the big panel chests.

Thankfully my sons are not into Prime as much as they were Animated, so I won't be buying much of this, if any at all.

I'd be perfectly willing to buy all the ones I end up being interested in off the internet. In fact, that's kind of likely to happen.

I already buy most my figures off the internet it really wouldn't bother me at all. However, you are going to be able to get these at regular retail. The "First Edition" figures are going to see a limited market release, but they will be available. Then when the full line hits they will be clogging retail shelves like any other line.

For those who are wondering about Bulkhead's height, he's supposed to be shorter that Optimus. Optimus and Ratchet are the two tallest of the five Autobots in the show.

I just noticed: I think I actually like this Voyager OP a little more than the animation character model, thanks to how the chest windows angle forward in the middle. The window-chest of the animation model often (though not always, I guess) seems more flat, and I never liked that about it.

On a side note: If they do a new mold for the later wide release, I hope they do a version with a mouth.

I can see some definate transformation simularities between the deluxe and voyager primes, not just the legs either. kinda like mp10, they took what they had already and made it better.

On the internet purchases, very true.

Prime won't be available in The Netherlands I think, we didn't see any generations. Never ever had reissues. So yeah, I think I'll buy the entire line online with killer shippingcosts :s.

Voyager Prime looks pure win, Bulkhead is fine. All of the figures so far are 7/10 or higher in my opinion.
Can't say the same for DOTM, give us Leader Megatron and Leader Shockwave. I can't stand these huge size inaccuracies.
