Just like the Trypticon vote a couple of years ago. The figure was already planned out and *surprise!* it won the vote. All these polls are rigged according to what the company wants. I do think there are a lot of Op fans out there, too bad Hasbro doesn't leave anything up to the fandom.Galactic Prime wrote:I still think that vote was rigged, no way there's that many Optimus Primal fans

Feeling less confident, now. The lack of Chromia and Greenlight-or-Lancer is a real kick in the d*ck. Seriously. One could have even been a Legends-class and it would have (potentially) put all six in one combiner.
John Warden and his team are known for not liking Beast Wars. Why in the world would they rig a vote in favor of a character they didn't want to make? Plus, with the aura of mystery and the wild-card thing, it was pretty obvious they wanted Deathsaurus to win. As for votes, it's easy to explain Primal's victory. The G1 vote was split between 3 different characters (Magnus, SS, and Deathsaurus), whereas Beast Wars fans could all unite behind a single character.Galactic Prime wrote:I still think that vote was rigged, no way there's that many Optimus Primal fans
Or maybe they had done design work on all 3, and just continued working on the one that won. I find it hard to believe that Trypticon was always planned to be the second TR titan, since both Omega and Scorponok would have made more sense in a Headmaster-oriented line.Rodimus Prime wrote:Just like the Trypticon vote a couple of years ago. Skritz wrote:Somehow I find it very hard to believe not that Hasbro would rig votes ('course they would and could if they wanted to) but rather find it hard to believe that Hasbro would bother rigging stuff for a Beast Wars character over anyone from Generation 1: it doesn't add up to the tastes and preferences of the people in charge.

Also, how would Omega Supreme have made more sense in a Headmaster line than Trypticon? Trypticon at least actually featured in The Headmasters, in which Omega Supreme nowhere to be found. Are you getting G1 Omega Supreme confused with the Energon incarnation?
Now, Scorponok would have been more fitting than Trypticon thematically, but I can see how figuring out how to do his head would have caused some hassle or at least delay. Especially having to contend with the "One head fits all" design stricture. Trypticon, they could just turn Full Tilt into a headmaster and call it a day and he'd be tied in.

Well we knew what Wave 4 had all along and we learnt at NYCC that Wave 4 would be the last wave and then be followed immediately by War for Cybertron. So it was basically confirmed that we wouldnt get any other deluxe aside from Novastar. However, all these fembots have cybertrnian alt modes so this doesnt change any chance that we will eventually get them.
Just not part of POTP.

Didn't Optimus Primal win? As opposed to Optimal Optimus.

I was specifically referring to the second round of voting. The reason those four lost is because the more popular characters (Magnus, Star Saber, Deathsaurus, and Primal) from the three categories won. My point also applies to the Chaos category in round 1. Primal was the lone BW character, whereas the G1 chaos vote was split between Deathsaurus and Thunderwing.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Autobot N, the Thunderwing, Arcee, Hound, and Megatron featured on the poll are also G1 characters. I am aware that Energon Omega was a headmaster, not the G1 one. My point was that it wouldn't be unreasonable for Omega to be a Titan in a Headmaster-focused line, since a version of him has been one before (admittedly, the point about Omega being more reasonable is a weak point, and wasn't supposed to be one of the main examples of the point I was trying to make). Also, how would Omega Supreme have made more sense in a Headmaster line than Trypticon?
