It sucks, though, that Repugnus is being religated to an exclusive like this. I doubt they would do this with a new mold, so he's probably a retool of someone existing. A Terrorcon, perhaps? Which will make it a bit odd. Two Monsterbots will be Headmasters, and the third a random combiner limb? As long as he works well as an individual toy and looks good with the other Monsterbots, not the end of the world. It will just be weird.
But, in the end... Deluxe Repugnus? Yay.
It'll probably be Rippersnapper. All they would really have to do is change the head.
Given that they're so dedicated to the 1987 line, I'm hoping another Punch/Counterpunch is coming down the line. I missed the first Botcon one and the new one is just the Decepticon side which really doesn't work for me.

Only big problems I have with him is lack of paint on his rims and taillights. Besides those two shortcomings, Jazz, Beachcomber and Windcharger all could have been Legends releases I think, quality/paint wise.
No reason we couldnt get Buster and Hydra as a two pack exclusive
As a Legends EX release, possibly.
Exactly. As long as Takara Tomy Mall keeps doing unexpected repaints there's a chance. And really, this is the only release that makes sense as being different from Hasbro's. What could they do with the Dinobots other than maybe make the clear parts darker and giving Slag a red head? Otherwise Hasbro has been going the cartoon rout this time around leaving not much for TT to do different.

Hasbro's paint jobs for their Legends and Deluxe class assortments so far have been fantastic. Jazz is a stand out, for sure. So much of the top of his alt mode is painted clear plastic. Dreadwind too has lots of great paint apps that really highlight just how much retooling was done to create him from the Skydive mold. Beachcomber actually does have painted rims, so fancy that!
We know that Hasbro won't shy away from premium decos either for special releases, like the Titans Return box sets and Arcee and Grotosque exclusives. The weak point right now seems to be the bigger size classes (Voyager and Leader) leaning on those damned stickers. Honestly, I would rather have a price hike on those figures if it meant paint instead of stickers.
Same here. I guess they wouldn't look as cool as TFC Toys' Poseidon but I would buy them if doesn't screw up totally.bodrock wrote:Terrorcons, Horrorcons -- what about the Seacons?! I'd love a Tentakil update.

There's a possibility to get them in PotP. They could treat them like Sky Lynx.Skritz wrote:Not for PotP, but I suppose it would not be impossible for them to be released as figures in a later Generations line. Either with or without their Headmaster gimmick intact, in the former's case they would simply have compatible engineering with previous Titan Masters.Albatross250 wrote:Does everyone kept waiting for Apeface and Snapdragon as of now?
Skritz wrote:I'll repeat myself but it still bugs me that in a line with mandatory headmaster and triple-changers at a Voyager class we never got Horrorcons. Hasbro was smoking some weird **** when they decided to skip these guys.

Ok, I'll grant you the hips, the upper legs and the Combiner port, anything else?
Yeah, I read the same thing on TFWiki. Strangely both times they called Blot a heavy retool of Rippersnapper even though they would have been designed at the same time so who can really say which was made first? And that's really all I see, the entire upper legs from the knees to the hips, the combiner peg, and the peg cover. Seems more like a case of parts sharing than anything like retooling.

TF Wiki seems to have very idiosyncratic ideas about retool terminology. Guessing maybe it’s Walky’s preferences manifesting?
For example, there are cases of pretooling or shared tooling but they always treat the first released figure as the “original”. Even if it isn’t the first DISPLAYED figure or is obviously a redeco of a later figure obviously designed first.

The pieces from their crotches to their knees seem all to be the same.

I don't see any retooling of the chest.

I have a recent third party version, but I just received a G1 Tailgate for Christmas, one of the last inexpensive figures from the first three years I was missing. Anyway, I think this is a nice addition to the line and is better than the Combiner Wars version. Just my take.
