You're just pushing your bias of disliking season 3 as some excuse to say 'its not the same show' as G1. That movie and the third season are very much part the same toyline, same show and were made by the same people. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean its not part of the G1 lineup. That is about as valid as me saying, for example, that Beast Hunters is not 'really' part of Transformers Prime or that anything from Age of Extinction is not 'really' part of the Bayverse. This is not the same as Beast Machine, for example, which had a different staff and was a soft reboot on the story and basically had little understanding of what came before.
Generation 1 functionally ended, brand-wise, when Generation 2 was a term coined for their first attempt a reboot which is where we got the term G1 to begin with. Now I'm sure we could argue that the japanese line and post cartoon and 'euro G1' may very well constitute a G1.5 so to speak which I'd very much agree.
Unless your excuse for saying season 3 isn't G1 is that its when they started making their own toy designs rather than just importing Diaclone. That would certainly be a more valid statement than simply saying 'G1 ended because I didn't like that part of it'.
Edit: I should point out that, as angry as this make you, I do consider Beast Wars to be part of G1. But not being G1. There is a difference. They are very much set within the same universe and continuity but these series and toylines are separated by a time gap but in universe and out universe.
I agree with you on that; maybe Hasbro is trying to mimic the homage of Movie Starscream's face on Prime Starscream's chest.Overcracker wrote:Is it just me, or does Starscream's torso mode remind anyone else of Movie Starscream's robot mode?

Part of me doubt it, given they are beyond obscure, but you gotta admit these would certainly help vary the palette a bit more from pastel colors.

Yeah but Windblade got a Generations and TR figure...so who's to say we won't get a superior Chromia retool of Afterburner? Personally I'd prefer a boxier and less feminine looking Chromia.

Windblade is the character Hasbro is trying really hard to make us like. Chromia is just Chromia. Unfortunately.

But she does have a toy out in the wild, making her a more likely candidate for Hasbro to pitch to non-collectors. Unlike Firestar or Moonracer who've never seen release in toy form.
Skritz wrote:Well I'm no marketing guy so I can't say for sure. I just know I'd like to see a serious retool of the Groove/Afterburner mold as Chromia if they plan to make a full team for Elita-1's gang.

It would be nice but its unlikely given Liokaiser already saw release. Granted they could just release him as a torso exclusive to some retailer, with the implication that he replace angry green Sky Lynx 'Deszarus'.

I like Season 3, honestly. Sure, my world was a bit shattered after the death of Optimus, so for me, the new cast of characters after The Movie were literally a new generation (not what the general fandom may call G2!). I never read the UK comics or watched Victory. All I know about them I learned from TFWiki.
Since joining these boards, my definition of "G1" has expanded, and I say we're in alignment on BW being part of G1, but isn't G1. And that's after only 5 episodes into the first season of Beast Wars (I've already been spoiled on the "tie-in")!

Now, I don't know if this has ever come up and I still need to figure out the forums and such, but I was wondering what is going on with potp prime's feet. Mp10 has normal ones, his look like they're floating. Is that a result of the amalgamation of Pax and trailer?
Also just want to say that I'm glad I finally took the plunge and joined
