I wonder if people are allowed to flip through those books on display? It would be an easy way to see some of the other bots from the movie...

I'm going to be buying all of the Universe and Animated figures I saw. I was actually quite impressed with the movie figures. I didn't really like the faces of Skids and Mudflap, but the rest looks good. I don't think I'll be buying the legends and I really doubt that I'll buy the RPM's. I guess I'm the only guy interested in the 100 dollar Devastator. I wanted to have just him standing in my collection, and if money allows, I'd like to buy all of the separate non-combining constructicons too. I don't transform them back, I like to leave them in robot mode and occasionally pose them. I better start saving now. Lol.

i dont know what every is complaingin about devastator for we dont know that there is only going to be 2 of him one that combines & other only for robot mode in some of the combined form of him in pictures if you look closley at rampage you can clearly see on rampage shovle thing hes got 2 slots where devastator leg connects to in robot mode picture and vehical mode so one or 2 may not transform into robots but the other limbs may transform into bots/limbs in the set.

http://www.seibertron.com/events/fullsize.php?event_id=105&size=1&image=6

look closly at the joint connecting to rampage in this image & compare that leg with the top 2 some may actually transform into bot modes others may not like the head

I didn't read all eleven pages to see if anyone else mentioned this, but Devastator looks like a rancor from StarWars. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Here's my two cents on Devastator. I'm not sure why everybody keeps saying he's a non-transforming TF. He's six construction vehicles that "transform" into a giant robot? Now before everybody goes into attack mode, I understand the complaint and I'm also an old school Devy fan. I got the G1 giftset when I was in grade school and have every incarnation since. Would it be better if each vehicle had a bot mode and could combine, of course it would. I'm okay with having one big ass Devastator and a set of smaller individual transforming figures if that's what if takes to get the job done. We all knew going in that if Devy was going to be in the movie he would be radically different from anything we have seen before, but at least he retains some aspects for the original concept. He's made of six constructions vehicles just like the original, that each have their own personality it would seem. Would people have been more happy if Devy had been one singular bot that split into six alt modes that shared one personality and had no individual bot modes? Personally that's what I thought we would get and I would have been cool with that. I was plesantly surprised that each piece would have an individual bot mode.

I said it when the "twins" pics were first leaked before the post was pulled and I'll say it again. WTF is up with the Furby heads?!?!? Devastator looks like something Ravage left in his litterbox. And there's gonna be a class action suite with Johnny 5 and Wall-E going against Wheelie. Bay needs to stop putting his 2 f'n cents in. Leave the Bots & Cons designs to the company that's been doing it for 25 years. I mean look at what THEY can do: the new Prime fig looks AWESOME, that "Human Alliance" Bumblebee looks next to perfect (are there others to come in this group???), Sideswipe (still think he should be called Tracks) is sick as hell, and even the FAB of Volt looks better then some of these figs. Not to mention that they've hit the proverbial gold mine (or energon mine if you prefer) with their Classics/Universe line. Now don't get your Arcee panties in a bunch and leave a stupid reply in the lines of "If you don't like it then don't go see the movie." I've been a TF fan since my dad got me the original Prime when I was a wee protoform. So I'm going to see this movie just like I did the last one, which was many times. I'm voicing my opinion, I've spent several thousands of dollars on this franchise, I think I can say what ever I f'n want.

As for Animated: SWEET!!!! An Arcee we've been waiting for, a NEW Ratbat with Soundblaster, and Wreck-Gar (cue Weird Al CD). I certainly hope that Hasbro doesn't stop after season 3. This is a BIG hit they have and they would be stupid to do so. If you want to argue that G1 was only 3 & 1/2 seasons I will argue that there were 98, that's N-I-N-E-T-Y E-I-G-H-T, episodes. Where as if they end after season 3 there will be between 42 and 50, if we're lucky.

And for those of you who keep talking about possibilities in the movie: Jetfire IS the Fallen, Ravage is looking for Megs (who may appear as there are forthcoming products with his new tank form), Ratchet isn't killed (but hopefully one or both of the twins are), Skorponok is back, if Rampage does appear then he's either Bonecrusher's "sibling" or him reformatted, the same with the Audi-con and Blackout, not even sure if all the vehicles will transform that form Contsruticon/Devastator most likely Demolishor will just grab other vehicles (the "Constructicon Assortment" set ONLY combines and the transformable Rampage and Demolishor aren't even the same class) and just to make everyone mad the movie will end with a cliff-hanger that will have you going "WTF when's the next one coming out???"

Okay, I'm getting a little confused. Here's what I thought:

The $100 Devastator will be six construction vehicles that combine into one giant two-foot figure. They will not have individual bot modes.

The separate Constructicon Voyagers and Deluxes will have robot modes and will not combine.

Is this how it is, or do I have it wrong?

The first preview figures (Soundwave and Bumblebee) will be out in early May, and the first full wave of stuff will be out at the end of May, with newer stuff coming out regularly before the movie and later on during the summer & fall.

OK. Having looked through all the figures (that wook a while) I have few more observations.

1. We're not seeing a number of figures we know are in the movie: Wheelie, Jetfire, Arcee/Motorcycle trio, Audi 'Con, Ravage, the Fallen. I'm looking forward to seeing these guys.

2. I'm going to reiterate by earlier assertion that Hasbro doesn't want a combiner that is too complicated. Children have very short attention spans. If you make something that is too complicated, the kids get frustrated and mad and just won't play with it. As a result Hasbro has to balance the complicated look and engineering of the movie bots with the potential abilities of the 5-9 y/o target audience. Rail Racer was a fairly complicated combiner, yes. All three bots had alt modes and decent robot modes. I may be in the minority here, but I always felt there was something odd about the proportions for those figs...and they lakced some poseability in minor cases. The Landfill figs were also decent, but again lacked some poseability, especially in combined mode. Rail Racer may had the best, most poseable combiner mode ever. But consider he was only made of three figs. Lastly on Devs, again this boils down to ILM and when they got the final models for the figures to Hasbro. Since we are JUST NOW seeing renders, I'd wager that Hasbro only got the designs within the last six months. That means that they will have had to rush to get these toys ready. Shortcuts will have had to be made. I'm going to give them some time before we see an actual combiner with 6 individual alt modes and robot modes. Like I said, wait for the premium line.

3. This line is going to be enormous. I don't know if we will have seen so many TF's out at once since the mid to late 1980's. I am going to be SOOOOO broke.

4. Sledge I respect your opinion. All I ask is that you respect mine. Your response was a little harsh IMHO. I'm happy to have a constructive discussion but putting down my opinions was uncalled for.

5. If Season Three is in fact the end for the Animated line, what comes next? I'm sure we'll see another cartoon, but from where will it come from? And what can we expect to see? I'm not including the Universe line here as it is more for us old farts anyways...I mean, a line for the youngsters.

6. Will we be seeing more of the Marvel and Star Wars Crossover lines at Toy Fair? Or are they pretty much back-burnered at this point?
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Idk most of the movie stuff looks kinda meh. I loved the first movie line but this one just seems... kinda cruddy. I like prime but from the pics he looks kinda messy let's just hope that he was just transformed wrong. Sideswipe is the only one there that I really like and will buy. I'll prolly get the new bumblebee and the alliance one but I dunno what else. I feel really cheated by Devistator the thing is a freakin MEGAZORD!!!! I'm not wasten $100 on that thing. Maybe when in goes on clerence. The twins are just epic fail Mudflap looks like a gremlin reject and Skids looks better but he looks really kibbley. But maybe they'll grow on me once I see the movie who knows? Animated stuff is meh soundwave is a pass and Arcee I'll havta think about. But I still have hope for leader Jetfire and hopefully leader Fallen.

Well, I really wanted to pass on all movie figs. this time around...
Looks like the only ones I'm evenly remotely interested in are:

Leader Prime
Sideswipe
Rampage
Deadend

All others are a VERY easy 'pass' for me...
I'd only get a few of those on a buy-2-get-one deal or major sale.
Hell, I'm not even wanting that Soundwave figure!!!!

It's actually nice knowing this, and will make it easier to justify spending big money if/when more Universe Classics are released.

I do like the design of Devastator, and think the toy LOOKS really good...
But obviously, as a toy, especially as a combiner, it's lacking.
Big time.

whats with the yelling shadowtyger00 ver since the first picture of devastator in movie, and toy form everyone has been real touchy about this combiner figure ok i will admit i was looking that closey at the details but i was just posting out to calm everyone down about the subject i will admit some of the figures look like crap and maybe worse on the big screen if they look anyhting like there toy counter parts but theres nothing we can do about it and hasbro isnt going to change it no matter how many patetins we have made or signed so hasbro is famous for screwing some things up on some figures but look at ther some few great ones that are coming out in the movie series.

i think devastator does looks cool, but $100 for a combiner that looks no bigger than a supreme is ridiculous. maybe i'd pay $60 for it but for $100 i want transforming limbs with individual robot modes.
i can't even accept that it would be too complex for kids because what kid has that kind of money? what parent is willing to drop 100 on a toy? i can't imagine hasbro thinking anyone but collectors would be able to spend that kind of money on something so they should at least make it worthwhile to us.

as for the other movie figures, sideswipe, human alliance bumblebee, the new prime and starscream molds look awesome. i also really like breakaway but the paint job from the display case looks terrible it looks much better in the "official hasbro photos". i am also really excited to see what they do for a larger springer because i really like the legends and robot hero designs.

and finally animated arcee and ratbat keytair are just awesome. it's a shame this line will likely becoming to an end soon. which means i'll never get a ratchet repaint/retool as ironhide :(

Well, I'm stuck on Devs. I don't like that factthat it doesn't transform, its a lazy excuse to milk the cash cow, but I am a sucker for huge figured with electronics and I really like the design. But does anyone know if he is being released with the rest of the line or in August? My b-day's in AUgust, and if he's $100 as said, i may have to wait till Christmas. I do however like Starscream, so I'll probably pich him up.

Good call. He looks a lot more like Depthcharge than Sideswipe, and in fact, looks pretty good for a movie-verse design. I suspect the resemblance is unintentional, looking at the history of movie designs, but its a happy accident nonetheless. Not to mention I like the BW character better than G1 Sideswipe.

Devastator? Well, my first reaction was to laugh. Out loud. It's much worse than even the CGI render we saw a few days ago. The inevitable green and purple repaint might improve it a bit, as the jarring colours don't do it any favours, but the more I see of it, it may yet be an impressive sight in the film itself.

Looked through the latest Toyfare magazine at the TF2 stuff. Not much in there, but the new Prime looks pretty cool. Not enough to make me replace the version I have from the first Bay film, but not bad. Starscream's got some prison-tats, and Soundwave's preview fig is actually pretty cool. Vector Prime's alt mode transforms into Tigerhawk and each mode has a bunch of extra kibble that doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

Looks to me like the only ones I'll actually buy are Sideswipe (planning to get 2 so one stays in each mode), the RR Starscream, Dead End, Soundwave (just because he's Soundwave..), maaaybe Breakaway (I might impulse buy it), Legends Springer, and if they make a deluxe Jolt I'll get him too. Part of me wants to get deluxe Skids and Mudflap just for their car modes...but I dunno... In general, the lineup is less than ideal

I still wish I could get ahold of the Barricade jacket from the last movie though....mehh!

As for TFA, I might get an Arcee and definitely still want the Jetfire/Jetstorm set, and might get Wreckgar if my wallet isn't screaming by the time I find him. Out of the Universe line, I've just decided I need everything that's not a Beast Wars character :P If they ever make a deluxe Jazz, Perceptor, or the other two Seekers, my life will be complete (or something, lol!).

Good lord, someone melted their faces off! D: Fail, Hasbro...FAIL!! RR Ratchet also failed...he looks starved! Rampage looks waaay too much like Bonecrusher.

Out of the Universe line, I've just decided I need everything that's not a Beast Wars character :P If they ever make a deluxe Jazz, Perceptor, or the other two Seekers, my life will be complete (or something, lol!).

yeah the faces are pretty ugly. for some reason i'm expecting these 2 to be like the hanson brothers from slapshot, just some really goofy guys who know how to take a decepticon down and hard.

and i'm actually not crazy about soundwave does anyone else think the satellite mode kinda looks like an upside down sword?
