Yeah, I think I rushed cause I'm really hoping to find out if an earth-mode Sideswipe is real or not. The Siege Sideswipe mold is like the Autobot's seeker with the sheer amount of repaints we are getting. I used to think the Datsuns were the Autobot Seekers but we definitely got more out of the Sideswipe mold.

It is strange they've never done anything similar to the Seekers with the Datsuns or the Lambors. The mold variants all being grouped together in fiction.

Pulse just gave me a shipping email for Deep Cover a bit ago, so whoever was concerned it was gonna get delayed, looks like he's only a day behind what they said.

As for the Devcon/Clampdown picture...I'll be honest, I'm still 50-50 on it being real or not. On one hand, the upload date is pretty damning, the Twitter that originally posted it was made yesterday and had a name that seemed suspiciously like a spoof on John Warden, the fact that they're hiding Devcon's face is sketch, and at least 1 leaker says it ain't real. On the other hand, leakers have been wrong before (including recently with Terrorsaur and Black Zarak), the Devcon kinda looks like it has a retooled lower torso compared to Scourge, I saw someone point out that Clampdown's arms are technically partially the wrong color (which a customizer wouldn't do, but an official Hasbro release absolutely would due to molding or to make Clampdown more visually different from Red Alert), and even if this particular photo is false, those characters could easily still be coming. For now, I'm just going to treat it as less of a "these characters are happening" and more of "they might look like this if they do happen", and if it is fake, oh well, I'm not attached enough to these two to be upset.

I agree, and sorta seeing it in the Netflix WfC trilogy with the background characters shows it would work.

That was me. I haven't received an email but I see a charge from Pulse so I should have the email soon. Again, it is all because I really like the Siege Sideswipe mold. Eventually, I'll take a picture with all the Siege Lambors and Siege Seekers I have, see how many shades from the rainbow are present

Has nobody pointed out that if that Devcon is real that would be a little strange being a Studio Series figure? It would be a first for Selects to use a SS mold and being a non-movie character it would have to jump brands to WFC.

It would have been nice if devcon was real and opened selects to ss figures (and its likely only time before that happens).

I'd rather hoist/trailbreaker get their rainbow of colors over the lambos (unless the potential earth mode improves the mold drastically) but I'm kinda glad for for the siege mold reuse as its saved me money from at least six figures so far.

Given how SS86 started out (as planned for wfc) they'd be the only SS figures I'd expect to see in Selects. Its no different really from the planned Starscream in SS86 which is just an Earthrise retool.

I really love the Rescue at Botropolis set. The paint on all of these figures are absolutely INSANE. I really got my money's worth.

Combined with Skylinx and the retail NASA shuttle micromasters, this make for a nice team.

Image

Space being limited where I want to display this set, I cannot make any "official" connections. No matter, this look the best IMO. A bit hilarious that Skylinx's shuttle is grossly out of scale, but it's okay if we just imagine it to be a shuttle shaped building.

Image

And of course I'm 1/2 inch too short to do the same display in the allocated space. So I had to compromise. Still look amazing though.

I'm glad I didn't miss out! ;)^

Cynically I wouldn't be surprised if Starscream is just the ER figure with some modifications for the cape and crown, but I also wouldn't be surprised if the leaks are just assuming that's the case because the figures look so similar, but then end up not having any parts in common just like SS Bee movie Blitzwing and Starscream. We'll have to wait and see, I'm a little skeptical of it.

Someone tried reigniting that debate recently saying Bee Screamer was just a heavy retool of Blitzwing

Even after having both in hand, Chug said that too. But by that logic, an apple is a heavy retool of an orange because both are round.

I have both and appart the overall look of the bot mode, there is not a single part nor engineering cues that are shared between the two.

Its an argument that can get very silly, very quickly. I just find it easier to say they're completely different otherwise you'd be trying to say that G2/RiD Smokescreen was retooled into Energon Screamer because of the transformation!

Exactly, that's why I'm cautious about saying SS86 Starscream will be a retool of ER Starscream just based on the first impressions of leakers. If it does turn out to be true then sure, maybe it can go both ways and SS86 can be part of Selects and I wouldn't at all be against it, but for now it doesn't seem to be the case.

I do think it's just a matter of time before Hasbro decides to do "Studio Selects" and I welcome that, though I'm not sure just what they would do. Repaint a Bayverse Bee into Cliffjumper like the old lines? A red and white Ratchet? G1 painted Raptor Starscream with that new head like from the first movie toy line? Bee movie Thrust in G1 colors? I'm sure there's lots of stuff they could do that isn't G1 repaints, too.

I'd rather a Studio Selects line to be a different kind of Beast and give new toys to characters like Wreckage and incinerator (maybe not using the Selects name but you get the drift.)

Still, I'd say that as far as redecos go, we'll see ss86 in Selects before too long.

Now given that we know of Galvatron toy colours, I wonder if hasbro would be tempted to do Ultra Magnus (probably Kingdom mold) in Diaclone/ Movie early footage colours :-?

Going to the Takara Select combiners box sets, any rumors regarding Menasor? They could retool Dragstrip by giving him his proper 6 wheels. But mostly, creating a "new mold" by deeply retooling CW Onslaught to give Motormaster his proper G1 look.

I think this look better than "safety orange."
