FAMILY2015 is no longer working

I tried codes this morning including...

htsdisc10
super20
family2015
spring2015
spring15
botcon15
botcon2015

and none of them worked

I noticed that too. But then realized I had a promo code from my last HTS purchase that worked.

I think those are a one and done deal though.

Now all I need are 3 of the 4 Deluxe Protectobots.

(Rook is Meh so Alpha Bravo will take his spot until Hasbro gets a clue with deluxe Grove.)

I'll just wait till he shows up at Kmart (if he show up of course. I want enough to get him, but not enough to spend those prices.) Shopping at the place you work does have some advantages.

So while I was working on the gallery for Ultra Magnus and Minimus Ambus, it occurred to me what a possible remold could be for these guys: Star Convoy with Hot Rodimus. Minimus Ambus basically has a Cybertronian Hot Rod alt mode. Star Convoy wouldn't be a big stretch if you gave him the car trailer mode instead.

SWEET! Got me Magnus ordered. Magnus alone would have cost me total $57, with paid shipping where its under $50. I added Powerglide and legends Strongarm w/Magnus then %15 off code and total is $53, lol. Turned out pretty nice.

Nice, thanks to a one-time-use coupon code I got from HTS with my last order Magnus only came to $38.24. Tossed in Legends Acid Storm and Thundercracker and it came to under $60 after tax. Great deal!

Got Magnus last night, along with a big box of assorted other Transformers (but that's another story).

I like him. The hand thing is a bit annoying, but with a small amount of work he can hold his main gun pretty tightly. He looks a lot better in hand than in photos, and the hollowness doesn't bother me nearly as much as it does on, say, Jetfire. Aside from having the flip the truck cab around, the transformation is very G1. Quite easy to figure out sans instructions.

When I first heard about this figure, I was very excited, but subsequent reviews tamped that down. I was worried that I wouldn't like Magnus very much, but he's a great looking, fun figure. He is pretty much what I have come to expect from Leader class figures: a good figure that could be amazing with a bit more effort (and likely a heftier price tag).

Now that I've had a chance to open Ultra Magnus, I definitely see now why everyone likes this figure so much. This is the toy I've wanted since Voyager Springer came and wrecked my classicverse shelf that featured Titanium Ultra Magnus as the city commander

Got my Mags today, been playing around with him for the last hour or so. I really like him. The colours are nice, and I like the detail on the cab particularly. The transformation is decent he's a lot of fun in alt mode when posing with other figures. Currently got him ferrying Hot Rod and Kup around.

As a big fan of MTMTE I'm absolutely loving little Minimus Amubus, who is currently riding one of my Ravage figures on my MTMTE shelf.

The only criticism of the figure is that the plastic is a bit cheap and fragile in parts, and the colours are nice but Takara have shown up Hasbro again (tempted to double dip!). Other than that I'm very happy with him.

Decided to bite on Magnus, even though funds are a little tight this week. Honestly surprised that he hasn't sold out yet.

Might I suggest a retool of Magnus that will not only complement Armada Megatron, but also appeal to my nostalgia? Three words: Armada Super-mode Optimus Prime. If this happens, I would buy Megatron and him up in a heartbeat.

I think he'd deserve his own mold, and that there's need to be so much retooling to turn Magnus into Armada Prime that they might be better making a new mold. But yeah, a new mold Armada Super Optimus Prime with KNEES would be grand.

I'm not sure if this has already been noted in the thread,

Getting Magnus to hold his guns well is pretty easy.

The handles for both weapons have a small tab at the bottom of the grip.

If you open his hand, and place the grip against it, the notch between the trigger and this bottom tab is exactly the width to slide right over his bottom 3 fingers. This means he can close his hand fully and the weapon is held in place by friction.

I even did the rattle test with him after doing mine. Nothing fell out. Both weapons held in great in either hand.

I have photos I can post if anybody needs to see what I mean, but it'll have to wait until 12:30 GMT when I take my lunch, as I'm currently at work.

So for those who have him in hand... which do you prefer? Leader class or Masterpiece?

I like the size of MP and of course the G1 aspect... but the Leader still looks pretty cool and has that whole 'power armor' thing going for it that I actually do like from IDW...

I'm still torn on which I want... any major flaws I haven't heard about on either of these guys that makes a swaying argument?

Cost alone has me leaning toward Leader, but not enough to order him... Feels like I'm saving up for MP, but if I see Leader in stores before then I'll probably crack :HEADHURTS:

I liked the hammer idea... but if the hammer isn't very practical in hand then that loses some steam...

It's a bit of an apples:oranges comparison really. The biggest differences are price and scale. MP magnus is HUGE. So if your collection is mostly CHUG, he'd look a little out of place.
