I've been stopping by the local TRU quite frequently, and all I find is a single Armada Megatron each time, not the G1 version I'm looking for.

I've looked for the G1 version on the internet (Amazon and eBay) and it's way overpriced! C'mon HTS, get it back in stock so I can order it and use a coupon!

Yea good luck finding him. I had decided that I'd try to pick him up third party( if he ever got in stock) but I lucked out. Found him sitting in a k mart. I was a little sad because the box was crumpled on one edge but what can you do. I think this is one of those guys you grab if you can. Honestly the combiner wars megatron will be my stand in masterpiece megatron. It's a great figure!

Thanks to Starscream韋 on weibo, we now have new in-hand images of the Generations Combiner Wars Leader Class Ultra Magnus figure. Unlike Masterpiece Ultra Magnus that is base on his appearance in the G1 animation, this latest release from Hasbro is based in his appearance in IDW's ongoing comic series, More than Meets the Eye. Sadly these images does not give us a look at the Minimus Ambus figure that comes with Ultra Magnus. How is this not G1 ? It transforms just like the G1 cartoon ? The only thing about it thats not G1 is the design of the shoulder missiles which appear to be ripped off from city commander.

G1 itself is just a loose term.

Before I started collecting in 2005 I thought that G1 was only the first two seasons of the Transformers: MTMTE cartoon and TF the Movie. I had never seen the third season of TF as I didn't have cable TV as a kid. Of course I was ignorant about the whole Japanese headmaster/master force/victory thing.

G1 Toy accurate, G1 cartoon accurate, and G1 nostalgia accurate are usually three totally separate things. There is no ultimate continuity in Transformers. That’s why collectors have so many shelves!

If you want a white Prime, get Classics Magnus. If you want a white Prime with armor, get City Commander. If you want a truck and trailer that transforms into a giant red, white, and blue robot, get this thing or the Masterpiece.

My phone was dead so I didn't get a picture but I know for a fact that Camp Hill in PA had two of the Armada Megatrons and two of the Lost Light Megatrons at the Toys R Us yesterday. They also had the entire first wave of Combiner War deluxes.

Next time I will have my phone charged, sorry!

Combiner Wars has been a rather sizable success for both Hasbro and fans and one of the most coveted figures of the line is the Leader Class Megatron mold, especially the G1 version, he's also the most difficult to find. Hasbro Toy Shop sells out regularly, BBTS is sold out, eBay's too expensive, so what's a fan/collector to do?
