Did anyone else notice that it's photoshopped and fake? Also my memory is horrible right now for some reason so bear with me. I think it's because of the heat.

I disagree. The whole point of Skylynx being a shuttle is that he is bigger than the others and can carry his friends around.

And added to that, Predaking, the largest combiner, is his nemesis. They are scaled to fight against eachother:







While his scale in G1 is as wonky as any other character, this toy is smaller than most of his scale interpretations. The whole point is that he combines with his two components to battle another combiner. This new toy changes his entire combining and scale aspect. Thats fine for an update that doesnt try to capture the original, but it definitely goes against the original interpretation of this character and his scale.

Still, it's a great looking figure. One of the best of the wave, I think.

I sure hope so, its the only new mold!

He's talking about the composite pic I made of the three parts for one of the news posts regarding computron. And either way, heat does nothing to your ability to remember things, nor does it stop you from searching either the news posts, or this thread for the relevant information

Only in the cartoon. In the comics, he was never 2 separate pieces, more of a triple changer, and his scale can be even more questioned, when his Lynx mode lands on the back of a trailer-less PM Optimus Prime.

The quote I was reponding to was only referring to the cartoon. Also, I will make a bold statement here and say that when fans talk of scale for G1 characters that are present in both media, there is a greater collective priority of achieving the scale found in the G1 cartoon than that found in the G1 comics.

I also noticed in that review how awesome Trailbreaker does look. they did a good job with him, and I really like his new arms as well as hand/foot piece. they make this guy worth it!

*pops in for a brief second* periods and commas help to also convey what you are trying to say in a better way. I personally agree and say that Skylynx looks EXTREMELY cheap, and that they should've done a leader class Skylynx instead. *disappears*

he doesn't need to.be huge in order to carry other Transformers around! look at Astrotrain! the Constructicons formed Devastator inside him!(& he's also a shuttle! + smaller!) Silverbolt....a bunch of Autobots managed to cram themselves inside him(jet mode) & Silverbolt is smaller than Sky Lynx, Starscream carried a bunch of humans inside him(more than what the jet he formed would normally carry) & dumped them mid air!(War Dawn).

it's obviously to do with Mass Shifting! in which G1 did a lot.

I think the same sometimes, especially considering the multiple factions there can be within the g1 fanbase like toon only, comic only, toy only etc etc. I respect g1 for starting everything off but I also have more respect for beast wars for doing something new and saving the franchise. I'm trailing off topic here, sorry about that.

If I had the original sky lynx then this update would still be welcomed by me (providing every other factor like available money was sorted)

However I'm not really bothered about owning the original as it's a bit big for my display and storage, space in my house is limited. Only big bot I have on display is Energon Omega Supreme, then next one down is mp grimlock.

I guess what I'm trying to say is thanks hasbro (or takara if they designed it) for making a smaller version of this character to better fit with my collection

Exactly. Sky Lynx was an incredible bot on a few levels. The confidence, the fighting capability, and he always looke awesome in all modes. Been waiting for an updated Sky Lynx.

Skylynx looks good. I'm still undecided about double dipping so I can have one combined at all times. Not sure I want to buy the aerialbots & white PE kit again to compliment him.

How about you buy one just by himself and you get the Liokaiser set. Like that you have the Skylynx mold as a torso for an homage to an actual existing combiner while not doubling on the same toy

I will most assuredly get Lio Kaiser as well. (I'm going in on the TFC set too ) I

I hadn't planned on getting two Skylynx until I watched the review. That torso looks really really nice with the aerialbot limbs.

Ok so I am coming up with some cool ideas for custom Galvatronus limbs. What about I customize some deluxe Protectobots, and call them the "Endangercons"? They'd be like the Protectobots' nemesiseseseses...
