I'd really like to see Sky Reign scrambled differently. Maybe with Mirage, Prowl, or Ironhide in the mix. I'm used to asymmetric colors on combiners, but there should be some colors shared back and forth, and there's really nothing there that ties Trailbreaker and Hound in with the rest of the team, and given that it looks like a good bit of Sky Reign's stability issues come from Hound being especially heavy compared to the others, I don't see much point in using him there.

Sky Reign's floppiness is due to the shoulders not locking into place and the hip ratchets being useless. According the video. Changing the limbs isn't going to solve those problems.

This is the best look that I can do adding Groove to Skyreign. Groove essentially hangs on to the side of the torso but with no dedicated pegs to hang on to, he will fall out at the slightest movement.

Replace Groove with Wreckgar and Skyreign gets a yellow-orange crotch. Lol.

Still undecided. The torso mode didn't interest me other than having a Lynx head that could be used in a fan-mode Lynx form (and the torso mode seems quite useless to those who did want to use it if it's that unstable). If I see it in Toys R Us in the UK I may pick it up, moreso if in a sale. Like others I really would have preferred a seperate Lynx mode. That was part of the fun of the original toy.

I just saw photos of this guy who owns him where he took Legion Groove and had him in Sky Lynx in torso mode and attached him to the most uncomfortable & inappropriate place, his crotch. He says that Groove will fall off with a little jingle.
I mean, that's just sick.

Yeah, considering we have seen nary an official picture of them combined (like all the others) and the fact that those who do have him cannot seem to combine him, I'm pretty sure hasbro straight up lied to us about wreck gar combining with sky reign in order to get us to buy yet another wasted repaint.

And I agree, that is a very jaded reviewer

Skylynx looks good. I'm still undecided about double dipping so I can have one combined at all times. Not sure I want to buy the aerialbots & white PE kit again to compliment him.

No, I was replying to multiple thoughts on the thread without posting multiple times, that was not aimed at you, but maybe keep trying, that peg and hole on grooves legs have got to do something

So, having just gotten him out after having him in storage for ~6 months, I find myself really liking Breakdown. It may be that having sunstreaker forced me to take a hard secon look at the mold, but it really is nice in vehicle, bot and arm mode. He has a nice slender build to his body, and if you tighten the screw in his pelvis, his thighs stay in place really well. I think I'll be tossing neck-brace in storage and using Breakdown on Glavatronus

Thank you, but did I watch the video, and the reviewer noted that Hound and Wheeljack were substantially heavier than the other two. That's part of the reason why I'd like to see him scrambled differently. Less weight on the arms might help prevent the shoulders from sliding out of place when he's standing in place, and it should drop his center of gravity to reduce torque on his hips.

The shoulders will probably still pop out of place when you deliberately move the arms, of course - just like Menasor and Defensor - so that'll need some clear nail polish or some Construct-Bot parts worked in. Or, I suppose, a person could just grip him by the shoulder instead of by the waist when moving his arm.

How about you buy one just by himself and you get the Liokaiser set. Like that you have the Skylynx mold as a torso for an homage to an actual existing combiner while not doubling on the same toy

The reviewer is so negative, it's hard to get through the review.

Given, I know it's hard to strike a balance between giving an honest review and being an online entertainer. (Not to mention striving not to go overboard brandishing your fan-character/puppet/Waspinator impersonation/cool electronic music/yelling a lot/generally talking forever.) At least it's well lit, in the frame, to the point, and audible.

But I digress... back to the figure.

My opinion — based on seeing the toy and transformation — it seems like it's a home run. Captures BOTH iconic modes seen in cartoon (ie. shuttle and weird dog-leg-bird-thing we have all grown to know and love)... plus it seems like a better scale compared to the awkwardly large G1 toy. It adds combiner mode as bonus, plus the secret puma mode as fourth mode. Lots of win here. I think most of us never separated the two halves of the G1 toy, so losing that isn't too big a deal.

Regarding the packaging... I've noticed the thinner cardboard recently. Since it looks the same visually (ie. for display), packs tighter in storage when collapsed, and uses less trees to make the packaging... I think that's an acceptable place to cut costs. I'd rather see it there than it the figures.... having odd hollow parts, less articulation, or see-through holes like in the wings, etc.

Still, it's a great looking figure. One of the best of the wave, I think.

Presumably they just used Brawl with a prototype of the new weapon for Nosecone to see how it will look in combined mode.
