I honestly don't see what's so "insulting" about it. Remember when everyone wasn't such a delicate little flower and you could say/do things without having to immediately apologize because you "offended" someone? It's just ridiculous. At any rate I'm just going to leave this here

I must say though, that that hound is really shaping up nicely. Really like the colors on that version of the figure (the cg ones were really dark - to the point of being uniform)

I'm pretty happy with the hound but kinda disappointed in the others. I was excited for Wheeljack but this white is just blinding...

Yeah, he is quite uniformly unpainted too, seems to be a trend as we near the end of cw

Trailbreaker looks alright, but I don't care about him enough to get another version of that mold. Shoulda been Cannonball

Heck they could've even done a pirate combiner (like God Neptune) Except they could all have those wicked stylized designs on them

I really only wanted hound and Wheeljack. Hound as a stand alone and Wheeljack to replace prowl on the optimus combiner. Trailbreaker does look good but I love the generations version so I might pass.

Since I do not have any of these guys in G1 form, I plan on getting all of them just like I did OM and his limbs. Hound is amazing and my be the superior version of him, best we've ever got even. Trailbreaker is my favorite of all time and he looks great and will gladly join me. Smoke could've used some more paint in robot mode but still a buy. but WTF is wrong with Wheeljack? There is not enough non-white colors to break that up and it looks bad. Plus the faux windshield isn't even painted! That is the one huge bummer out of these guys

Honestly, though, I think the Technobots would work better as a re-release of a WFC Combiner retool/remold.

The drill part would need better molding to make Nosecone though. The one the club is doing wouldn't be fully satisfactory considering the drill is small.

He needs a nice meaty drill to widen all those crevices and enter with pride! How's he gonna excavate any cave to satisfaction with the tiny thing the club gave him?

Ever considered that the beast combiner names could actually be for the beast-like RiD Decepticons? Or Hasbro is just gonna sit on them until Primus-knows-when?

These trademark notifications are just done to keep the name. They might not use it for years.

According to the latest TCC magazine, an interview with John Warden revealed that Hasbro chose to go with vehicular combiners only so as to not confuse kids since the RID 2015 series has beast-based characters in it.

That seems like borderline insulting, considering they have different names, turn into completely different things, and fly under an entirely different banner

TCC: What Combiner were you personally eager to make, but just could not get it into the final product line? Predaking, Piranhacon(sic), Abominus are seemingly absent from Combiner Wars. Were the animal Combiners just not feasible for the line or was it a priority issue, wanting to focus on the more classic vehicle Combiners?

JW:

Every figure we create needs to be able to be incorporated into the greater whole of the Combiner Wars line. To create a Beast Combiner, we would have had to dedicate a full wave of product to play off the aesthetics of the original characters and Combiners that fans love.

"Every figure we create needs to be able to be incorporated into the greater whole of the Combiner Wars line." In other words, "We need to focus on molds that can be retooled and redeco'd". Hence why Beast Combiners, if they are ever made, would all be made in one fell swoop. The argument is technically BS because any combiner component with ports can integrate within the Combiner Wars as a whole. So he is truly talking about the business end of things, which would be capitalizing on the mold as much as possible.

Kind of ironic, considering the fact that the RID toys' only repaint value is the same character, just in "stealth mode". Hasbro.....what are you smoking? There are so many unneeded stealth repaints. The money that went into those wastes of time could have gone towards Predaking, Abominus, or heaven forbid the Seacons, my personal favourite combiner team. And I'm sorry about the language Cobotron. But when you're as mad as I am when someone says a whole load of BS, there are some things that slip out. I'll aim for minimal curse words next time.

Yeah.... Wheeljack looks like he could use some gussying up. Well, that's what craft paints and brushes are for, I guess. Hound looks pretty good. I hope all this means that they'll be early in releasing some of these figures (Christmas maybe for the Combaticons?). Making us wait to March 2016 just for a bunch of repaints seems a bit much....

After looking at other incarnations of Jackie, the windshield was the only thing to paint. other than his stripes and sponsorship logos he really is just mostly white. His hands and forearms are usually black.

Guess they didn't want to mold his crotch in black, shame really, it helped break up the white really well

This might sound stupid but is this the actual retail product or just a test sample? I only ask because the mock up at sdcc looked so much better and had more/darker paint. I thought the official product was supposed to look better than the mock ups not worse

Well it hurts 'jack, but helps hound. His mock up - and the cg pic - were so dark, I couldn't tell the green from the black.

Well it hurts 'jack, but helps hound. His mock up - and the cg pic - were so dark, I couldn't tell the green from the black.

Likewise, I think this picture is just too bright in the center. The other three deluxes look better since they're colored and to the sides, but Wheeljack (and Fixit's face) seem to have taken the entire camera flash at point-blank range.

WJ's white should look better in normal lighting, as well as the silver on his face. (The black around his eyes is also a nice detail.) That said, more black parts like the earlier renders would have helped a lot.
