Guys this is The Platinum edition packaging.

Its not SDCC packaging style.

I'm pretty sure that this "G2 Superion" is going to either be an Amazon exclusive or a Toys R us Exclusive.

'includes poster and trading card' doesn't seem like something an SDCC exclusive would have.

Cyclonus looks awesome! Galvatronus, not so awesome. Your pics btw, seems to be too bright.

On another issue, I hear crickets chirping again............a joke must have fallen flat somewhere around here.

Yeah, agreed. I hope they find some stores and conventions to crank out ALL of the un-used G2 gestalts. Bring 'em on. The collectors will eat that stuff up.

ALSO, everyone needs to chill with the GPS worries. That's a 10-to-20-year-old problem that has been remedied in newer gold toys. Given, it's usually because the character looks a little on the mustard side (LOL), but they have new chemicals and plastics to steer clear of GPS. ALSO they can simply paint critical portions of a character gold if needed.

I DO want a gold slingshot. Gold or GTFO. (gold transformer out!)

Exactly. The problem is still there but it's only 1, maybe 2 figures per odd line. The latest victims are:

Beast Machines Snarl

I'm guessing there's a decent list of these somewhere online. Glad it's not a prevalent problem now... just a random fluke.

I'd hope that if Hasbro knows that a specific toy was victim of it in the past... that they'd take extra measures to test and ensure the new version doesn't suffer the same fate.

Thanks for that!

I thought it was WAY more figures... mind you, it's some of the most awesome figures in history, so that carries a lot of weight in our collective psyches.

I'm still waiting on a reissue BZ with GPS fixed. (hint hint hint)

Ouch, The Falcon is the only SW-TF I have. (A gift)

I'll have to take it out of storage and give it a check.

As far as a gold "G2" Alpha Bravo.... I'd rather they go in a different direction as there is no need to copy G2 Slingshot unless they are using Quickslinger instead.

To make him different from the existing releases and known possible G2 usage of the mold, give him something new and unique. Maybe give AB a Tron look instead, Black with a neon white, yellow or green accent perhaps. Offroad should get a similar treatment with either a G2 style tricked out vehicle mode, or a Toxitron inspired deco.

I guess I'm the only one here who has no desire at all for this. I hated G2 the first time around and I haven't changed my mind in all these years. Instead of this (or another Bruticus in any generation) I would rather see the other combiners that haven't been given a re-release or any love like Computron, Abominus, or Monstructor. Just my opinion so please no hate on my dislike of G2 or the idea of ANOTHER Bruticus since we get him in almost every new toy reboot.

Thanks for the list but I am surprised TM Megatron isnt there. That is the worst case of a TF crumbling in my hands.

Also, I have Snarl and never thought he was easier to break than any other TF. Mine is as solid as the day I got him (Christmas 2000).

But he's really not. Drop him or put too much pressure on him and that's that. I've never gotten one that wasn't broken in lots that I buy for the Seibertron.com Store.

I think that list is missing some but I'm trying to think of who.

Beast Wars Megatron should be on the list though his plastic doesn't look like the same swirly gold plastic.

Energon Scorponok? Mine snapped at the shoulder, though maybe that was an assembly issue (tightness of a transforming swivel) and not actually GPS?

I dont buy nearly as many lots as you, but I have bought some in the past and everytime RTS Wreck Gar is in them, his handlebar is always broken.

Also, thanks for the tip, I will try my best not to drop Snarl ;)

Megatron is listed on the actual page. JelZe just didn't mention him in her list.

Seibertron wrote:Optimal Optimus doesn't have gold plastic so not sure why he's on that list.
Yeah, I've never heard of him having GPS either. Looking at the revision history of the Wiki list, his entry was added in back on March 5, 2013 by one of the more known editors, so I would presume that he isn't just making stuff up by adding OpOp to the list. But it still strikes me as strange. Mine's still fine, at least.

But then again, so is my Torca.

Transmetal Megatron is a debatable case of GPS (that's why I didn't put him on there), but what is known is that the plastic used for the waist ratchet is too soft and will break. The Japanese version as well as Armada Predacon seem to made of sturdier stuff.

Also, I have Snarl and never thought he was easier to break than any other TF. Mine is as solid as the day I got him (Christmas 2000).

Beast Machines Snarl is interesting in that the longer he remains sealed in package, the more brittle he becomes. Odd, huh?

Seibertron wrote:Optimal Optimus doesn't have gold plastic so not sure why he's on that list.

He has a similar type used for the turret, particularly for the battery block. I don't really know how the part in question is constructed, just that soft ratchets aren't always a good idea.

At any rate, Hasbro has said they've "fixed" the issue through trial and error, so we shouldn't be so concerned with finding it in current offerings until a couple years from now. :)

If I recall correctly TM Megatron's problem was a design flaw that was only on the original release and fixed from the Japanese BW Metals version on.

Awesome Pictures and Poses Thread

Seriously, having an intact toy like that is awesome on its own!

My thanks to you again. It's the inner robot which looks good as new, no sign of fragility. The 'human' shell lost half a foot, which accounts for it's 'Napoleon Syndrome', probably. I'm going to get some camera batteries, because they are a thing, and I hereby return you all to the topic you thought you were looking at. :saint:
