Well since First Aid is one of my fav CW figures, I'm not that excited about Prowl sharing the mold since its not that Prowlish to me. I do need a good Prowl but I dont think this is it.

Interesting factoid I just learned: Prowl is an SUV in the IDW comics. This is as close to comic Prowl as we're going to get, it seems. I, like you, tend to forget that while the combiners themselves are going for G1 as much as possible in the toyline, the characters are IDW all the way. IDW and G1 technically aren't always the same universe, they just so happen to be interchangeable, which works for everyone.

I know Prowl is an SUV in IDW but this robot mode looks nothing like IDW Prowl. I'm all for IDW style figures and prefer them since I love the comics(Whirl looking at you). Alt mode will almost work for IDW Prowl, although I would like them to throw a spare tire on him. But its a definite no on robot mode. Guess I will wait some more.

Just curious guys, there have been reports that some TRUs and Walmarts are selling the deluxe limbs at 19.99$US. Has anyone come across that? I know walmart in canada sells their deluxes for 19.99$ but its in canadian currency so not necessarily a price increase over last year if we convert.

I'm in north Indiana, and Walmart has them 14.99; TRU is 16.99

Yeah seems much more likely to be Ratchet to me.

Vehicle mode and the shape of the horns (no center crest) screams Ratchet to me instead of Prowl.

Think it's going to be Prowl. The current IDW Transformers comics already have Prowl in this form.

Just because the current looks from IDW are being used, releasing Prowl as a Devastator component would be outright confusing for many people who don't follow the comics.

That's not exactly a valid excuse anymore when all of the deluxe figures come with comics.

1: Hasbro is too lazy to release a separate piece for a combiner even if it had articulation the other Contructicons lack.



2: Hasbro and others thinks that everything is confusing to kids because their stupid or something.

Theres something I dont buy about prowl thing. We know both Prowl and Ironhide are part of the limbs for the final combiner of the year and Ironhide was already seen using the same mold in a similar drawing. Hasbro has yet to release two identical car/trucks as limbs so I doubt that they would use this mold a fourth time for a mass release this year (for both Prowl and Ironhide coming out in the same wave). Not saying this is surely not Prowl but I do not think he and Ironhide will share the same mold (ratchet would, not Prowl).

Hmmm... considering that I'm planning to get both Offroad & First Aid, I don't think I want to get this figure as Prowl as well. I'm happy with my Universe 2.0 Prowl.

Although, if it were Ratchet...... hmmmm. If I can't get my hands on a TFP Ratchet, I'd seriously think about it.

Although I think Rook would be a better re-tool into Prowl.

Finally.... I'd really really love it we'd get an alternate Prowl head for Generations Devastator. Kinda like that purple headmaster thingy that fits on Animated Leader Bulkhead.

Ya looking back at the pictures, that head crest is too swoopy to be Prowl's. It does look way more Ratchety.

WJ88 makes a great point. After the release pattern of Drag Strip with 3 Aerialbots (etc.) and Hasbro's attempt at peg diversity, I wouldn't think they would have two of the same molds in one wave.

I just hope they don't use Dead End as Prowl. That mold is proving to be troublesome.

I really feel with the way the comics are going right now, Scrapper is going to be revived and Prowl will combine with Optimus and the others to put down his rogue team. He may even return to his (slightly) more sane mind once Scrapper is out of his head.

It also wouldn't work for practical reasons.

Prowl replaced Scrapper, who is a leg on the current Devastator. To be comic accurate (the only reason to release Prowl as a component of Devastator), they would have to release a new version of Hook as well to form Devastator's right leg. I can't see them making two new Voyager figures just to accommodate a relatively small fan base.

Well I don't think it'll happen either, mainly because it would require Prowl to be a Voyager figure and we'd need a second Hook figure to become the leg. I'm just saying the "no one reads the comics" excuse doesn't work for a comic book based line that comes with comic books.

As far as price gauging at TRU goes, what else is new? The MSRP for CW is US$16.99 so TRU adding $3 to that isn't much of a shocker. Also keep in mind that each TRU sets their own prices, that's been a complaint with figure collectors for many, many years. Walmart doing it is a little more surprising, but I seem to remember them doing something similar a few years ago, I think with Dark of the Moon figures. For now the prices are still $14.96 at my local Walmarts, same as on the website.

Yeah, if this were really Prowl, then that would mean the same mold is used 4 times for mass release products which outweighs all other mold uses this year. It just doesn't add up to me. What I feel this is would be a preliminary drawing where the mold was used for ratchet and then the character was switched to Ironhide.

Not all blueprint drawings have made it into toys. I was looking at the inner workings of the design in the platinum insecticon box the other day and saw a gun Megatron toy, which clearly never happnened.

No...it doesn't. Some silly doodle in the back of a comic does not mean squat. Making Prowl an SUV doesn't even make sense.......
