Of course I married a French-Canadian girl so that does't help. Even if Quebec separated we would have to go there to visit my in-laws.
This just in from the guy who wants to run Quebec:
If Pierre Karl Peladeau becomes premier, he wants to reach into your wallet whenever you make a transaction on the Internet.
The PQ (partie quebeqoui) leadership frontrunner outlined rolled out his economic platform Tuesday.
Peladeau says wants to impose a provincial sales tax on items purchased online, on web sites like Amazon and EBay, as a way to protect the Quebec retail sector.
Among the other key planks of his economic platform — he wants to create a government agency devoted to the economic development of the regions, he also wants to make it easier to track down tax dodgers, and invest in what he calls a "green" economy.
And once again, he touted the merits of Quebec independence as a key component of his economic plan — insisting freedom from Canada would make Quebec richer.
If anyone cares to know what this means, it means purchasing Tfs online for Quebec will be more of a nightmare than it ever was if this goes through.
