Why is Skywarp always the last to get any love? :-(

Same boat here... Scale wise is my only beef... Would have loved it to be slightly smaller than Jetfire considering he is suppose to be so much larger, but heck I don't have to display them all together...

Either way it would seem if you have the MP Starscream/Thundercracker/Skywarp it would almost be useless other than getting a Generation Mold...

*Sigh* missing Starscream & Thundercracker...

My feeling here is Thundercracker won't stay on the shelves for long. Especially if they do a Starscream or Skywarp.

huh... *looks back*... i thought TC had faux shoulder stacks. lame!

SW is probably last because the black/purple deco is thrle prettiest. it makes more sense to put the worst foot forward first in this instance. people want to experience the mold, so theyll settle for TC rather than wait for the iconic SS, or cutee-pie SW.

*not to discout current IDW TC fans*

Of course there may be that instance were Shockwave zaps 'em with a Giganto Ray so they can go toe to toe with Superion and the likes. Who knows what adventure lays ahead?

I am finding that "waiting" on certain Transformers is a bad idea... Which I waited to get MP Starscream & Thundercracker (I had seen them at Walmart too!!) Now I am kicking myself as they go for any where from $140-$200+

I do plan on using TC as a "in between" while I wait to get MP TC...

I wish someone wouldn't have pointed out the missing seeker shoulder bits. That makes these about as accurate as Cloud Starscream, in my book. The shoulder bits are kinda important.

Really, I think Hasbro needs to make a big chart showing the important features for each character... That way they wouldn't miss important features like the visor on Jazz (upcoming RID release) or the missing faceplate on Grimlock. Really, it seems like they just started going all willy nilly with the characters' faces. Faceplates are on and off in various versions of figures in the same line. Strongarm and Grimlock flip back and forth.

Seriously, that's how we IDENTIFY these characters. Quit changing the way they look. Sheesh. There are some really simple features that should be consistent across a character, even as it changes color, vehicle mode, etc.

You don't see that on other tv shows... Rick Grimes with long blond hair in one scene, short brown the next. Ole Iron Man sporting a beard one scene, then clean shaven the next.

Okay. End of rant.

thats a really flawed argument. their faces dont change from scene to scene. they change (sometimes) from series to series.

and from time to time, rick goes from haircut and clean shaven to dirty hippy. ironman? come on. he wears a different suit every 12 minutes.

let the kids have their different grim and jazz.

Yeah, I think it's still valid because there are versions of same character IN THE SAME LINE with different faces. It's confusing to kids. It's a bad corporate decision — in my opinion.

there are? :???:
is it like, optimus variable faceplate in some fictions? or are they only depicted i one way in the RID show? if so i retract my previous statement.

Eh? Don't see the big deal with ss not having thoese stacks and kids getting it won't know they were supposed to be there (and likely won't care)

I would love to get a skywarp in that mold, in fact I would probably not bother with jetfire or starscream

My kids have no trouble identifying the major characters... My oldest son (5 years old) knows even some of the oddest Transformers that don't get a lot of loving.

What they do notice is colors, and once they understand the coloration differences they pick up on who is who... Explaining that in certain lines Megatron becomes Galvatron is rather confusing to a kid though...

We can expect these guys to continue to evolve and change... What most kids are clear on is Bumblebee is usually Yellow... Starscream a mixture of white, blue, and red.

Characteristically speaking when Starscream talks or his attitude shows its clearly Starscream...

It's not that big of a deal. I just think they are one of the seekers identifying features. Would have been cool if they could have incorporated it into the back pack booster thing.

I agree with Goth though. Consistency makes for good character design.I don't mind design changes, but there are certain defining features that are good "at a glance" markers.
Primes face plate, Megatron's Nazi helmet, Shockwave's one eye, Bee's horns, etc. etc.

I'm talkin' to you, Mr. Bay

@ Knightaero - Color is most important for consistency. :APPLAUSE:
Which is why that leader Starscream works just fine.

To be fair, DOTM Shockwave was one of the few truly G1-inspired movie designs. He's got the purple, the gun arm (with hose), the cyclops eye, and those weird horn-antennae thingies.

Anyway...

That Armada Megatron is very disappointing and this is coming from Armada Megatron's A#1 fan. It really does lack a lot of the character that the Micron Legend version had. Really a shame, but nice to see the figure get a homage.

He needs no homage, all Armada Megs needs are regular knees.

And hips. Don't forget the hips.

Agreed, Metro Prime. I'll chime in to throw a very small bone to Michael Bay... Shockwave was one of the few characters to mostly resemble his G1 self... at least in being solid purple and having one eye. (Given he DID have bug mandibles and a weird chest made out of bones like some terrible "Dinozaur" toy.)

But I digress. Solid purple and one eye was good. Nailed that.
