They call him Bluestreak with the black and silver color scheme because that was the name they chose for him in G1 (in reference to the expression "to talk a blue streak") and that was the Diaclone Fairlady color scheme the G1 cartoon used for him (whereas the toy used an adulterated all-silver version for whatever reason). Now, they may have
meant to use the blue-sided scheme, since that would have added another layer to the name and it
is the one featured in the catalog and his instructions, but they didn't. Despite many playground rumors to the contrary.
Calling him Silverstreak (originally a lawyer-friendly substitute name, akin to the likes of "Trailcutter") with the blue-sided color scheme is somebody's idea of a joke, and IMO it's a pretty hilarious. And it's not like it doesn't fit.
I'm familiar with where the Silverstreak name comes from, it's just wierd that that's the name they role with when they relese him with the blue paint job.
And it gave me a chance to use this smiley.
