While at the same time, those shelves were clotted with re-issue figures that didn't sell well, and wound up in clearance months later. Are stores passing on getting more of the newer figures, so they can stuff the shelves with these re-issues? Maybe not - but... maybe?

To be fair, I've noticed the same shelfwarming with the RED figures. However, due to that vocal part of the fanbase (and contingent within HasTak itself), catering to nostalgia tends to trump moving Transformers forward as a brand/franchise/series.

So I've seen preorders appear for Wolfang and Cybershark now. RRP £25.99... Regardless of the five times mark up in ..27 years. I thought to myself, I wonder what the secondary market prices are? Surely lower, more realistic, right? RIGHT!?

Why am I even surprised anymore??

I bought Scorponok. It was a shock that he cost 62$can plus taxes, almost double the price of a deluxe. He's still a mega and it's better than paying the 200$+ asked on eBay for the original.

But here's the thing. I'm afraid to unbox him because of his damn spring-loaded gimmicks. I fear that I'll lose the claw-bee and the missiles in a matter of seconds.

I bought it on Walmart.ca
And contrary to Amazon, Walmart have packed my Scorponok CAREFULLY in a BOX with BUBBLE packing.

I wouldn't be surprised if the strength of the spring hasn't been lessened since the OG figure.

Based on recent video reviews of the Scorpy reissue, the OG could actually kill.

At worst, you'd have to hunt around for where the Cyberbee went whenever you put the figure down (until the plastic clip inevitably broke). The missiles had a bit more bite to them. But I only put them in once. As I lost one of the missiles upon loading it for the first time.

I bought scorponok tonight. He looks really good, and I need to support one of these beasts at full price.

I lucked out about 3-4 years ago and got K-9 MOSC for about $40 USD with shipping and Takara BW Buzzsaw for like $25 also with free shipping. Sadly those days are long gone now. :/

i picked up Scorponok on Friday, and he is really nice. I wanted this guy, finally got him, and he is wonderful. Definitely worth it. I am very glad they reissued him so I could get him.

We have news that Transformers Retro Beast Wars Cybershark has been found in the US. No Wolfang was found yet since these ship in solid cases. TF fan Red Snarl found this toy at Walmart (the exclusive retailer in the US) in Fishkill, New York. What an appropriate city for a first sighting.

JTPrime has some new for us concerning the Walmart exclusive Beast Wars Retro line. We knew we would be getting Tarantulas, K-9 and Terrorsaur and now we have the product codes for 2 of those. But better yet, we have a totally new listing. We now know that Beast Wars Iguanas is also being reissued. Now there are 2 Beast Wars Iguanas toys, one basic like Terrorsaur and a Transmetal 1 one. Smart money is that this will be the basic frill lizard. That does mean that as with Rattrap and Terrorsaur, we are expected to pay deluxe prices for a basic class toy.

However I do not have a Terrorsaur, so I may pick him up now!

I have them all except Iguanas and Terrosaur that don't interest me.

One thing I like about these is there's differences enough for the originals to not lose one cent of value.

The only Terrorsaur figure I liked was the Transmetal. So not really interested in the OG figure. Nice to see Iguanus getting some love again.

This really surprised me. I thought we wouldn't see any more vintage reissues (original Transformers or BW) since Hasbro is eliminating plastic from their packaging. Either these will be an exception to that decision, or they are going to look very odd...

Exclusives get exceptions. Hasbro only made the commitment for mainline toys.
