BERSEKAEL wrote:Meh... I wonder when will we have a G1 legion class Grimlock and Dinobots
We sorta already do. There are universe dinosaur minicons done as Dinobots.
He means proper ones that aren't a repaint of a figure that shares an alt mode. He loves his legion figures, and I can't blame him for wanting legion dinobots after the most recent Grimlock continues to be done from a rippersnapper
I'm looking for parts, Help Me Out Please! Wanna talk? Or Rollerblade? Click below and head on over to the D-Max Den!!
Still not giving us any kind of confirmation as to what the line is actually called, a fan has sent us notification of the allegedly named Transformers Authentics - featuring the 'evergreen' designs on the packaging - as spotted across a number of stores in the Philippines, as reported by vproject (though the images is by Franz Echeverria on Facebook) and maku098 of fellow Transformers fansite TFW2005.
The sightings show all four basic figures, with Decepticons Starscream and Megatron being accompanied by Autobots Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, from a Toys'R'Us store and Alabang's Toy Kingdom inside the Festival Supermall in Muntinlupa City. The price is the same, at 299.75 Philippine pesos (approx 6 USD) each, and you can check them out mirrored below - and make sure to use our Sightings database in case these or any other figures turn up near you!

Good question, they have the new "Authentic" logo on them, but I don't think we've seen anything boxed from this line. From what little we can see on the back of the box it looks like the non-transforming "Hero" figures (the "soap bottles").

Yeah I can see the Starscream one appealing to his fans but the other three just look really bad and blocky. I may still get Grimlock as a simple desktoy if I ever spot him.
I have anxiety, depression and aspergers syndrome so my behaviour can be erratic. I don't mean offense to anyone. Just very picky about my Transformers collecting. You're all cool!

We recently posted that the new simpler Transformers 4.5" figures, which use the evergreen designs, were found in the Philipines. Now, we finally have some in hand images of the Optimus Prime from this generic line, destined for the value market.
These images which TF fan Ikkad posted on the TFW boards are our first real look at the figure, including the paint applications and its scale compared to other figures. It seems to be between the scout and deluxe class in robot mode. Ikkad also gives his comments on the toy which you can read below.
They were all at my local department store today.
The price, just to reiterate, is in Philippine Peso (PHP).
It's a bad figure. The lack of elbows really restrict poseability, and the hollow legs prevent you from standing him up in most poses. The four step transformation is actually a bit interesting, as it differs from the Optimus standard. However, it results in the use of fake chest windows. The plastic is very cheap.
Here are some comparisons with the two other small Optimus molds. It's funny how the guy is taller than the T30 Legends.
Overall, it feels like a cheapo KO toy, so I guess Hasbro has that market properly covered now.
I may go back and get Megatron, just to see what the Decepticons are like with their fancy elbows.

Wow. The arms look really bad with the lack of elbows and the giant grill flaps on the fists. For our fearless leader Optimus Prime, I'd expect more. Seems like it would sully the brand and leave a bad impression. Sigh.
i'm sure there are people loving these, but as for me, i don't think i will buy any. Even megatron that initially got me interested is kind of letdown, they don't even try to hide his head.
Chefatron has posted a video review of the entire set of the 4.5" figures part of a new generic line simply labeled "Transformers". This video features Megatron, Optimus Prime, Starscream and Bumblebee. Each of these transform in 3-4 steps but have a very different range of articulation from one figure to the next, as we find out in the video. Megatron and Starscream, for instance have ball jointed elbows which both Bumblebee and Optimus Prime lack. The size between the toys is also slightly different though in general they are all around 4.5", which means between a current day legends and deluxe class toy. Due to their simplicity, they are however at a price point lower than even a legion class toy (a toy half its size).
Another very interesting fact from this video is where it was found, Toysrus. This means that while this line may have been leaked as being for value chains, it can also be found in big box retailers, at least in the Philippines, which is the only place these toys have been found so far. We already posted a pictorial review for Optimus Prime here which includes more comparison images to other toy classes but the video below gives us our best look yet at all these toys and their level of complexity. We have also included screenshots of the video. Let us know what you think!

Megatron, judging from the photos, actually looks decent. Relieved that the fusion cannon can be put on the correct arm. Depending on how I feel if I saw him in person, I’d probably grab one to replace the 2013 Legends fella.
Starscream, my boy, is wasted potential. If he had more blue to break up the cream gray, I’d’ve liked him more. Like, the jet mode sucks, but I like the robot. I might get him and just paint the missing blue on there myself.
I feel like they gave up on Optimus and Bumblebee. I’m sure a really little kid would love them but for me, no thanks.
They call me “Tanker Chungus”!

Bee and Optimus are complete garbage... For a collector's perspective, of course. Bland bricks with fake-everything. Great for little kids, a pass for me.
Megs look decent enough.
Starsvream is the clear winner here. Completely articulated bot mode make him posable like a ninja. I do forgive his altmode because for a transforming jet, being an obvious bot stuck under a jet is a funny trope/meme. This will be the only toy for this line to get for me.
