Y'know, just kinda hit me when I glanced at my shelf and stared right at SSBB Blitzy, were people expecting the designs to stick very closely to the G1 looks the whole time? I haven't read all the thread of course, and even some of the replies I've seen aren't written by Geewunners, I'm just kinda tossing it out there that it seems silly to expect it to be G1 faithful when outside of the Cybertron scenes, the designs seemed pretty typically Bayformer.

(That being said I'm NOT knocking anyone who dislikes Wheeljack's head simply because they don't like it. That's perfectly valid!)

At this point, I'd just like to see the live action Transformers movies treated like the Star Trek streaming shows on Paramount+. That'd make me happy.

And your gloating over being so proud about people being pissed isn't exactly not-stupid either not to mention your nether regions comment yet I bet you feel justified about posting it right?

To me, it's incredibly **** hilarious that people are getting so worked up over this before they've even seen the movie. So I make light of it, I laugh at it. Is that so bad?

Deadput wrote:Easy to say when it's your point of view against everyone else right? It's not like I'm saying my opinion is superior it just so happens to be my subjective opinion

As is mine.

I like the look. It's different. You seem to be coming at me hard simply because my opinion is different to yours. You're entitled to your opinion, not going to begrudge that, but the way you're reacting is the same reaction I'm seeing on Facebook, the same reaction I'm seeing on Twitter, and I find it hilarious. And that's what you seem to be reacting to, not your opinion, but your reaction. I've seen this same **** since before the 2007 movie was released, rather than letting it piss me off, I make light of it.

And I have to wonder as to what the goal is of some people who are hating on poor ol Wheeljack's face. All this anger and negativity, for what exactly? I'm all for expressing opinions positive and negative, but some people (not saying you) seem to be having such a major reaction to a character who shares the same name as a character from a different iteration of Transformers.

And rather than dwelling on it, I laugh at it and have a little fun with it and then I move on.

Like now. Toodle pip!

I mean fair enough for the rest of your comment and yeah if you like his design that's fine enough I'm not trying to convince anyone otherwise, just replying to this specifically while for me it's more annoyance in the "I'm tired of this crap" thinking rather than pure anger the reason for me at least to express my thoughts like this is basically:

What else can I do? There's nothing that can be done besides give a reaction which in this case I've done so in the form of a comment on this site, nothing else I can do besides wait for the movie and judge it as itself, while judging Wheeljack based on his character.

If the movie is good? I'll be happy, if Wheeljack is a great character I'll be happy with that too, I just don't like the face/head on him although I think his body design is otherwise great...besides maybe the suspenders but I think my annoyance on those is more so associated with the nerd-image they seem to be giving Wheeljack, I'm just worried he's going to be an unfunny character like the Twins in ROTF or something like that with his appearance being used to tell some jokes.

This is all ignoring those rumors from the leaks (which seem to be more and more true by the month) about the type of humor he has with Arcee...

Arcee looks amazing!
That style looks soo good guys, I wish that style was applied more to the TF's.
Not too crazy about Wheeljack's face but whatever, hopefully he'll be a decent written character.

Almost time for trailer 2 guys, Tomorrow! Can't wait.

New Footage of Transformers Rise of the Beasts in Teaser

Postby william-james88 » Wed Apr 26, 2023 7:51 am

Motto: "'till All Are One"
There will be a new trailer tomorrow for Transformers Rise of the Beasts, and to tease it, Paramount has released a teaser made up of an avengers type dolly shot of all the heroes lining up. While it's very brief, it does give us our first look at Wheeljack in the actual film as he is featured prominently in this shot. While it made sense for the marketing to show the Maximals in their beast modes, highlighting the novelty in this movie, this shot makes it seem like their beast modes are indeed their defacto mode in the movie itself.

That's why I don't post like I used to. You get tired of man babies that sling insults anonymously from the safety behind a keyboard (if this pisses some off good, then my mission is complete). I will say this though, Seibertron isn't as bad as some FB, IG and Reddit groups, holy crap there are some toxic people out there in those groups.

Not to mention pretty much all fandoms are toxic as hell but at least the TF fandom isn't no where as toxic as Star Wars fanboys.

Now I'm almost saddened that they didn't get Jaleel White to voice him.

Honestly though, after the disaster that was TLK I really couldn't care less about the live action franchise. BB was a nice diversion, but the way Hollywood has gone in the past few years I knew not to get my hopes up that they would actually improve upon that. I used to LOVE going to the movies, but pretty much since 2019, there has been very little to be excited about.

I mean my kids are old enough that they went to see Super Mario Bros with their own friends. They said it was great. I actually believe them in this instance, but I'm still in no hurry to see it. RotB may very well be the first TF film that I have access to, but choose not to see in the theater.

I wonder if the first trailer was rushed. The CGI wasn't completely done but the director already had his decision for the scenes in the trailer. It also could explain why there was such a huge space between trailers.

Why are the producers so scared of the R-word? Both this and Bumblebee, prior. Does it really matter if BB were a reboot? Or this for that matter?? There is no deep characterisation or narrative thread lost if they were.

Meanwhile, as I've mentioned before. BB garnered a lot of goodwill, from me personally. I wasn't expecting it to either. So I'll give this a go. Couldn't really give an Energon Goodie what any of them look like. As long as the Terrorcons/Predacons/Whatever are entertaining. Like Shatter and Dropkick in the last film.

On one of the Gi Joe groups I follow if you ask a question you run the risk of some man baby being a complete d!ckhead. I try not to look at the comments just the pictures especially if it is something new.

I guess I am old school, if you want to say something say it to whomevers face, oh wait most people are complete pussies now a days and would get the sh1t stomped out of them so what better way to hide the cowardice than attacking anonymously.

It's all about the money. If the pre-TLK Bay movies hadn't made a gazillion dollars, the producers probably wouldn't be so eager to keep all of the newer films still connected to those that were big moneymakers.

If it were a real full on reboot, like the Batman franchise, the spider-man franchise and the james bond franchise, then yes it would matter. It would mean that the designs would get an overhaul and that they are not constrained with staples of the franchise, like Bumblebee having a radio voice or being a camarro.

So I'm glad they arent calling this a reboot in any official capacity, or else it would just cheapen that word.

And yes, they are scared of using that word on their end because this franchise, with Bumblebee as he is, has made billions of dollars. Up until this year, ROTF had the record for most money made in a 5 day opening week-end. They are not giving that up so easily.

And lastly, the producers are still the same, so they have a stake in this franchise when it comes to their ego.

All reasons no one is using the word reboot in anything close to an official capacity.

It's so strange though. I would actually equate it to the Batman films. Batman Begins made $370+ million, The Dark Knight made $1 billion. But no one tied them to Batman '89 or ..Batman & Robin. Which is what they are doing in word only, here.

Except, no. Batman Begins made it explicitly clear that it was a different Batman in a different world from those of Batman 89. Begins didn't end in any way that implied Bale's Bruce would later go on to become Keaton's Bruce, whereas Bumblebee ended with Bee ditching his VW Bug altmode and scanning a mint-condition version of the 70s Camaro altmode that he would later have in a beat-up form at the beginning of the 2007 movie, in an unambiguous visual attempt to connect the Bumblebee movie to the 2007 movie.
