Collecticon, Seibertron.com friend and TFSource reviewer has updated his website with an interesting news bit regarding Transformers 3. It looks like much of the filming in Chicago, Illinois will be done on Michigan Avenue, or to tourists, the Magnificent Mile. Check out what Collecticon has to say below!

We all know that Transformers 3 is being filmed in Chicago amongst other locations around the country and the world thanks to a recent post by Michael Bay. The dream came one step closer to reality for Chicago Transfans as Collecticon.org received confirmation from an un-named source that businesses along Michigan Avenue are being pre-emptively notified of an upcoming shoot for the movie.

This is awesome news! It shows that the cast and crew of Transformers 3 will continue to push the limits of their craft by filming in one of the highest traffic areas of the city. The big question now is will the shooting occur during the evening hours, or highly trafficed day-time hours? Chicago is no stranger to blockbuster movie shooting. The recent rebooted Batman films transformed Chicago into the infamous Gotham City, albeit with a bit of computer graphics magic. This time, Chicago will be waiving it’s flag proudly as the Decepticons and Autobots wage war upon our streets.

Well, with this news, we can probably expect another city battle. Hopefully a different battle will occur in space, like many are hoping for.

Hopefully we find out BEFORE shooting takes place, not after. And preferably at least a couple days before so a person can get prepared. I can just picture finding out same day and having to jump in my car and drive like hell, then get there with my camera battery half charged or something stupid.

M Bay needs to take his ass to VA! But if they're shooting in DC too, thats probobly the only way I'll ever be able to see it. Unless they film here sometime during the summer.

OKay...so which of us in the Chicago area is organizing the road trip?
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

First-Aid, it's not so much a road trip for me as it is simply driving there. If a group of us is going though, now would be the time to speak up since we might not know it's happening until the last second.

We should all show up wearing Transformer t shirts. So if we made it into the film it'd create like a space vortex paradox or something, becuase we'd be representing characters that are supposed to exist only in disguise.

I'll wear all of my G1 themed shirts simulataneously, and try my hardest to get into a shot somewhere, just so people watching the movie will be like "hey, isn't that Dagon, who hates ROTF?!?!?!?! What is he doing there????? Arrgghhh!!!" and then we can have an entire thread on Seibertron devoted to the guy wearing a G1 Decepticon shirt and how it was either brilliant by Bay to include a 'nod to the fans' or just another example of how G1 fans are too stubborn and old to get with the newest horses. And I can out-act Shai LeBouf any day of the week.

Not a bad idea, I don't see much chance of it working though. For starters they would probably screen out people in background to avoid things exactly like what you propose. Even if you did make it in front of a camera by some slim chance, it takes all of about two seconds to edit out your tshirt, or even you yourself if they felt like it.

And on a personal note, if you really hate the movies then why the heck would you bother to show up in the first place? I'm pretty sure I could find something better to do with my time than willingly hang out at something I didn't like.

Well, the simple answer is that I don't hate them, but it seems that many people have decided that if you don't absolutely love them, then logically you must hate them. Since I still hold on to my outdated preference for the G1 cartoon and movie, it seems I fit into the second category.

Aside from that, I'd go becuase I can, and honestly, even if they removed my shirt or whatever from the shot, when else would I get a chance to say I was on the screen of a motion picture? Or when would I get the chance to see someone shooting a motion picture? Basically, and I'm not certain how you're going to interpret anything I've said, I'd go becuase I could and because I think it would be neat to see something getting filmed. I didn't vote for Obama, but I tried to get in to see his speech at Grant Park when he was elected. It's not like I'd go to either event to heckle, but I'm certainly allowed to attempt to be present.

Ok, I gotcha. I understand what you're saying. It does seem impossible to stand somewhere in the middle on the movies, you're not allowed to say they were simply ok without those special "worst movie ever" people jumping in with loony toons remarks.

And G1 cartoon was the best, no doubt. Despite simple plots, quirks and story bloopers, it was still a high quality show which every franchise since is based on. They don't really compare though. Sure wish they could find a way to create new episodes, set between 1986-2005 maybe.

My god, it seems like someone got it! :D In all respect, if you're being serious then I thank you very much. I never said I hated either of the live films, but since I don't think them the greatest things ever or the saviours of the franchise, some others make it seem that I never stop slamming them. If you find my posts regarding the matter, yes, I've certainly said negative things about the movies (such bold statements as "I didn't like this" or "This part made little sense to me...") and then other people jump in and crucify me like A) they have some right to, B) I'm Hitler and/or C) they're entitled to their opinion and I am not. I liked the movies for what they are, which in my opinion isn't too much but they are entertaining. I don't believe the franchise would have been dead years and years ago if it weren't for movies that came out in 2007 and 2009. I still prefer G1. For all of my sins, boy, am I sorry.
On the plus side, thanks Liftgate, for your understanding. Actually, it means a lot, and no, I'm not sarcastic when I say that.

G1 was great when I was young, and I still prefer it to most of the newer stuff. My favorite series was Beast Machines. What do you want from me? Obviously my TF tastes are flawed. But yes, it's hard to deny that G1 set the tempo for lots of 80s cartoons and we could even make the arguemnt that if it weren't for G1, we wouldn't have transformers from which to base a live action movie. But that would be crazy. G1 just started the Transformers storyline, and while I'm not saying it is the best thing ever, humanity needed a Model T before we got the Concept Camaro.
