However, what's the point of G1 figures? Especially Optimus Prime, where MP-01 and MP-10 exist and they are perfect in every ways, AND transform?

Accidentally.

RAR wrote:I can think of some licensed Transformers Products that Transform.
Fast food toys, the Pen-Optimus seems to be some sort of license.
There was also a kids computer that sort of transformed and various DVD cases.
But it's pretty obvious that a small design change to the chest/back and that FOC Optimus could easily Transform.

If a transformation is too complicated, I usually just pick one form that's best and stick with that. And with Megatron? Frankly, it's the robot mode you want to stick with rather than the pistol. And if I'm going to pay a ton of mortal 'smackers' for a high-end Megatron figure that I'm just going to leave in robot mode, then I'd rather save up and get one that's specifically designed to look awesome in robot mode.
Therefore I eagerly anticipate the unleashment of MAS Megatron.
