Probably the fact that his upper body is one giant square.

Here's hoping that other Prime mold we saw gets released, cause it looked massively better than this one.

EDIT: I just noticed that on the toy version of Prime, in robot mode, the Flame designs arn't visible except down at the bottom of his legs.

And you know what? It looks like crap. Thank christ for the flame designs working like they do in the movie, because without it what you end up with is blocks of blue and red standing out in places where they don't belong, and it looks like *crap.*

Optimus and Bumblebee have decent vehicle modes, but they could do better with the robot modes and their facial expressions. And why is Bumblebee priced at 89.99, that's bleedin' ridiculous?!?! Anyway, look forward to when they come out.

hope ultimate bumblebee was just a mis transformation cause he fricked up in some areas (especially the chest) but he looks like a fun figure with his crazy details, really interesting looking transformation :P , and features., can't wait for him

though prime seems to be more or less an ugly fat cube with this mold :P

I think most of these toys would have been much more appealing with better head sculpts. They should seriously consider doing that for the Hero line that's coming up. The remolds I would be most interested to see would be Voyager Prime, Leader Meg, Voyager Ironhide, and Deluxe Brawl. Maybe Blackout too even though the head sculpt as of now is actually surprisingly fitting with the rest of the body.

As for Bumblebee, I just can't imagine a toy with the original head sculpt priced at $89.99. Maybe i'm weird but I just feel that because his original face does not look serious enough, it should only be used on the deluxe scale. The high price range actually somehow justifies using a more technical/complicated look for a face, even if it's an ugly face of an insect/alien.

I think you're only disparaging the "ultimate" tag based on the photos and what you assume is a really expensive masterpiece quality figure. If you read the p/r, you'd see all these features crammed into it as well:

A News Release wrote:In car mode, BUMBLEBEE is an approximately 1/14 scale CAMARO concept with realistic car features. By rolling the vehicle you activate headlights and revving engine sounds. Stopping activates taillights and screeching brakes or crashing sounds

After you manually convert the car to robot mode, BUMBLEBEE stands an impressive 14” tall. With the touch of a button, robotic BUMBLEBEE comes to “life” with speech, music – featuring DEVO’s “Whip It”, battle and conversion sounds and fully animated head, arms and wings. BUMBLEBEE’s sound detection capabilities enable him to respond to noise, and he can also automatically aim and fire a missile.

Personally, I don't really dig all the electronics loaded into the toy. They just seem to me to more often than not "get in the way" of the toy. What if I don't want the lights on or a revving noise? After a little novelty of the "special effects" sounds on an action figure always get a little dull. Lastly, when I read about features like these, I can't help but think of the dancing santa or the singing fish. However, I'm older than the main demographic Hasbro's going for (kids with parents willing to shell out $90, not collectors), and, at least according to the toy industry, kids love their playthings loaded with electronic features. Anyway, by "ultimate", I don't think they mean "masterpiece" quality detail, though it is fairly detailed for a hasbro product. They do mean ultimate in that it's stacked with deluxe add-ons to the figures, literal bells and whistles.

I am kind of curious about the inclusion of Devo's "Whip It" in the figure. Perhaps this is a clue to something on the movie's soundtrack during a key Bumblebee sequence?. Also, does this Bumblebee really shoot a missile? Recall a' coming.

That Ultimate BB looks brilliant, easily Masterpiece calibur. I like it alot. It really is an amazing spot of engineering.
And although the Leader class Prime is pretty nice, the smaller version we've seen appeals to me more. The gun thing and helmet are wicked cool.

Love the Ultimate Bumblebee - but I don't like the sound of Devo's "Whip it" having anything to do with this figure... or any TF in general...

I'll wait until I see the movie before spending over 100$ Canadian on this guy. No matter how cool he looks, if the movie is crap I'm not buying any of this stuff.

My guess is that there's going to be some sort of "I'm ghost ridin' the whip y'all!" gag they expect everyone to find completely hilarious and memorable. Poor Devo.

As much as I dislike movie Bumblebee's design I admit I think the toy looks quite impressive based on the amount of detail alone. I don't know if the animatronic features will really make it any more fun in the long-term or if they'll become a frustration but it does sound interesting.

Prime looks like they just slapped him on a table and didn't bother giving him a "cool" pose.

I'll reserve final judgment until I have the figure in my hands, and see how posable it is.

Err, no, probably not. Ghost Riding is very far from being widely known yet(and in all probability never will be). It's not really spread out of So.Cal(or is it Northern California? I can't remember). The only other people who really make a big deal out of it are cynical white guys on the internet(like me). Any such joke would be lost on a vast majority of the movie viewing populace and even more so on kids who buy this toy. Also, if they were going to do a Ghost Riding joke they'd use the actual Ghost Riding theme song.

According to the script, Bumblebee uses various songs to respond to different events and to talk to Sam because he is mute. 'Whip It' is probably one of them and Hasbro probably went with it because it was the easiest/cheapest to obtain the rights too. It also may be the most kid friendly song.

Funny, I remember some Transfan somewhere was saying this Ultimate Bumblebee was going to be the best Transformer ever. Looks like a ripoff to me. Course if I were thinking about buying Bumblebee or Masterpiece Megatron my money would go towards Megatron.

I hope you're right. Not just about the use of the song but about 'Ghost Riding the Whip'. I haven't been out of the state in a couple years so it's good to know that particular strain of of stupid hasn't spread.

In that case, my second guess is that, being that this is essentially about 'a boy and his car', it'll be featured during a sadomasochistic love scene.

Very Impressive new stuff. The Ultimate BB looks like a winner...I wouldn't be surprised to see that kids buy it more for the car than anything else.

Optimus Prime is blocky, no doubt. Someone else mentioned the electronics interfering with the toy; it may be the case in our eyes yes. The sad thing is that eletronics and gadgets sell to today's kids: they WANT that stuff. If it happens to play Devo in addition to transforming to a neat robot they'll be more likely to want it.

Did anyone notice that they have listed the main movie charcters as both Voyager and Deluxe sized figures? Is that true?
It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.
