Windblade looks great, but I'm sure that sword is going to have the rigidity of a spaghetti noodle.

Those AoE figures though...

I don't mind simple transformation, but don't use it as an excuse to make garbage. Those look like they have 2 points of articulation, that is unacceptable. What's the point of having a figure you can transform quickly, if you can't actually do anything with it in robot mode?

For kids or not, they look bad. REALLY bad, I was expecting something bad. But this is a complete new level of bad that I was not prepared for.
Drift is a joke, a fat square joke. Grimlock looks like Darth Vader. And the others are Legends/Cyberverse that gone wrong.

Wow, this makes me embarrassed to be a TF fan. These make the previous film toys look like Masterpieces in comparison.

I really hope there is something else besides this, because these figures are atrocious. Even the Fast Action Battlers and the 2010 Activators looked much better than these for simplified toys. Hell, First Edition Optimus Prime is simplified but he still doesn't fit in with the rest of these at all.

And what I don't understand is why this movie line is aimed exclusively at ages 4-10, when the film itself is rated for a 13+ audience. Are four-year-olds really going to see this movie?
Please note: If you think I may be joking, I probably am.

I wanted to not hate on these but it's difficult not to. I wanted to like that Grimlock more too even knowing what it was going to be. It is better than Power Rangers Time Force's Q-Rex though.

I can get behind simple Transformers. Armada Overload, Tidalwave, Megatron, Cyclonus, Thrust, Sideways, Demolisher, Jetfire, Hoist, Red Alert, Wheeljack, Starscream Optimus, even Scavenger was kinda cool in all his derpiness and that's just Armada. There are so many other simple yet effective figures out there in other lines. I can even get behind one step transformations. Machine wars basic figures and the early Beast Wars basics are all fun little guys without looking like crap.

I was a very grateful child and appreciated all my gifts but if I got these as a child I would've thrown a fit. They don't do anything. I fondly remember my Pretenders back in the day and the play factor that those brought but these bring none of that. I don't want to be grumpy old 30 something but damn, these are just that bad. At least G1 figures had some playability in them. Something to keep you coming back for more despite how bland they were. These just don't have that.

Now that I think about it, I can kinda see the fun in smashing the toy and it transforming but that novelty would wear out far too quickly when the robot doesn't do anything. I can smash my Beast Wars Optimus vs Megatron too and have them transform just as fast but at least they could do things in robot mode and had weapons. These just remind me of the RPM hot wheels cars things. At least they look like they'd have cool designs if they were made into standard Transformers.

If you guys read the article (given the reaction, my guess is no) you would have notice that nowhere does it say that these are deluxe or voyagers. these are those one step figures that we saw a couple months back (I recognize hound from the same prototype images.) Once again the fans cried wolf. :BANG_HEAD:
Also anyone notice that lockdown's face looks like a realistic version of his animated counter? :-?

I can't say I was ever satisfied with a TF with less than a 3 step transformation and a butt ugly bot mode when I was between the ages of 4-10. I can understand how the leader figures from the other movie lines might have been too fiddly to seamlessly play with but these figures are just belittling to kids' intelligence. Also, the robot mode of the leader Optimus looks like a weird Japanese doll from the 1970s, and Grimlock isn't far behind.

I foresee very low sales for this towline. Or many disappointed children.

Wait wait wait!!! That grimlock thing will be the $79 toy? Look at the "holder" in the back of Dinossaur mode. Are you serious? At first sight I thought it was a legend (or oversized legend). Are you serious hasbro? As I think it is for children blahblah (I don't think bad design = for children) But that certainly isn't $80 cool, not even $30 cool. What it do besides transforming itself? It play with itself without the kid help too?

I don't believe these are the main line , meaning the Deluxe and Voyager figures were used to from the movie lines , These are nothing but legion class transformations .

I'm not gonna kick up a fuss just yet . wait and see what happens this weekend i sure we will get some proper "collectors" movie transformers .

I really despise the fact that they just relegated the entire line to one age range. How about multiple age-ranges for the same line?

Regardless, as an adult collector who actually likes the movie designs, this is disappointing on a whole new level. There had better be some movie characters, especially Drift and Grimlock in the Generations line.

Heck, even as a parent, I highly doubt I'd get these for my kids. For me, entertainment must be at least meaningful and in my opinion, we've been talking down to kids way more than we should and they need to be treated with more respect.
