Not yet, but I can imagine G1 being on the list.

I call it #1 for sure. Just with Ironhide, Megatron, and Reflector alone.

Which reminds me, who are the most accurate G1 toys? I think it's mostly the carbots, because Sideswipe, Prowl and Jazz pretty much looked like that in the show. Inferno as well maybe?

Optimus Prime is pretty damn close. Shockwave, Soundwave, and the cassettes too. If you don't care about scale, most show models are pretty accurate. Only "messy bots" were "corrected" for the show.

Still, the toys did came first so I don't know how "accuracy" should count.

IMO Megatron is closer than he gets credit for.

The way I see it, with G1... accuracy should count for careful deliberate changes (like optics color, giving the faceleess faces, color schemes), but not dumbing-down (like kibble magically vanishing) or complete screwups (Astrotrain's shuttle fin in robot mode, the Combaticons below the neck, etc.)
WANT:
* Cybertron Galvatron key, missiles
* Omega Lock
* Primus Cyber Key, coattail panel
* Powerlinx Comettor
* Cyb Jetfire R gun and missile
* RiD Galvy dragon head, beast arms
* DotM Ironhide windshield, R hood assy.
* ROTF Jetfire R JTFR panel

It’s funny as a little kid those loose artistic renditions weren’t far from what my imagination cooked up when playing with the toys. Those bricks could flip fly breakdance do all kinds of stuff :D

She's not the only offender.
    *Blackarachnia in Beast Wars had a very obvious big chest for a female.
    *Jack Darby in Transformers: Prime, Darkness Rising Part 1, the scene where Jack strokes the driver seat can be portrayed as touching a girl without permission.

However Beast Wars and The Unicron Trilogy had amazing Accuracy to the toys. Unfortunately Blackarachnia's toy was still unrecognizable until her Transmetal toy. The original was a purple variant of Tarantulas. and She had to wait until Masterpiece to get BW accuracy.

Thunderblast is the worst, though. Thunderblast got borderline pornographic at points, including that freaking nipple shot. Which, by the way, the incompetent smegheads at Cartoon Network evidently failed to notice.
Somebody obviously needed to go pour buckets of icewater over the animators at Gonzo.

I would pay good money for a more poseable and more "cartoon accurate" Thunderblast. :lol:

Yeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh nope, I'm ok with us remembering toy Thunderblast only.

It still is incredible how much more show accurate the Beast Wars Transmetals and onward figures were compared to the season 1 designs. I liked those season 1 designs, but the Transmetals were where it was at

Well, with Season One you had a case of the toys existing first and then the animators taking artistic liberties. And also cheating a fair bit by doing something that the toys can't: Treating the beast mode kibble as flexible skin on a collapsible frame, and having extra hide that rolls out to completely cover their robot bits.

Season Two onward, they worked more closely with Hasbro and strove to match the toys. It probably helped that the Transmetal designs weren't trying to pass themselves off as ordinary animals.

For me, Prime was a contender but i judged it worse than MP (Airachnid anyone?). The fact that we never got a show accurate deco for season 1 voyager megs was enough to tip it in the favour of mp 2.0 for me.

Not just Arachnid, just going on accuracy, to me at least, leaves much of the Prime line disappointing, certainly the Primary Prime RID line. Don't get me wrong they're decent figures, but they are not good for accuracy, they have the same issue as the movieverse figures, the designs are too intricate so the figures have to take liberties, particularly compared to lines like Cybertron or 2000 era RID.

I tend to crap on the primary Prime RID line as much as the next person, but not for lack of show accuracy. Both Prime RID Arcee and Cliffjumper were more accurate than their First Edition selves.

I cant find it now, but there was a designer video from hasbro for their voyager predaking which showed that they were at complete odds with the show, choosing to give Predaking two extra heads.

The extra heads act like gun accessories. Totally optional.
Still the "Scout oversized" is the superior toy.

It is so weird when you say that and then note the disparity between the Transmetals/TM 2 and Beast Machines...

Beast Machines was really Hasbro's fault. Mainframe wanted to keep things going the way they were, but then Hasbro basically cut their animation budget in half when they told them to share it with a then-new Action Man series. Beast Machines was them cheating with kibble-free character designs that don't really transform in the classic sense to simplify the animation models and Hasbro doing toys that looked little like the cartoon since both companies were doing their own interpretations of Draxhall Jump's design concepts at the start. It was a no win situation for fans.

Emerje

I don't doubt you,but could you give a source?This is the first time I'm hearing this. :-?

Could you also show us some of those draxall jump designs? On the internet, all I can find is their designs for the dropped line after that (along with a cheetor).

So after a while I found this guy on Trent Troop twitter,and he says he drew the Transtech and Beast Machines concept art.
It might be the next best thing
