I actually think there's a really good chance that Snarl and Sludge will end up in the Universe line with NEW molds.

That would be awesome, though I'm not sure how likely it is. I don't think Universe is going to be as big a line as most of us would hope for. I just don't think there's much room for Universe between Animated and the movie sequel next year.

Anyway, I'd love if they did Sludge as a voyager class, and Snarl as deluxe. I'm hoping some time after the sequel, they'll do like a Classics 3.0, so it'd be great if we got one in this line and the other then.

Yeah, you could be right... Especially since Hasbro has stated that alt modes need to be "relevant" to the present and what they feel will appeal to today's kids (although I think every generation of kids could be into dinosaurs).

And now that you mention it, you also could be right that Universe may be short-lived and almost take on "filler status".
I just get this vibe that Hasbro is not going to commit to lots of new molds... Now the sales will have some influence of course,
but since $$$$$$$ is their goal, I could see them really milking the option of repaints no matter what.
Although it's not likely, I wouldn't even put it past them to put out a couple repaints of movie figure molds.
I mean, look at Blaster; they didn't even give him a new head!!
For some reason, even though most of the mass public wouldn't know the difference between repaint and new mold,
I think too many repaints could sink that line.

AND, you're probably right about a Classics 3.0!!
Safely release more classic G1 characters once interest is revved up again.
*See, there would've been a good way to release the Botcon Seekers!!
2 in this year's Universe line, and 1 in the next 3.0 installment!!!!
(I'm really not trying to open up that debate)

I'm just glad there's a lot to look forward to either way.
Once those Animated figures hit shelves, I think we'll be set with TF goodies until almost Christmas.

I think you might be right. Dinosaurs will always be awesome to kids, and I think dinobots will always be just as popular. I don't see any reason not to do them for Universe at some point.

Universe and Animated will overlap. My suspicion is that Universe was a way of hedging their bets in case Animated was a total flop. I don't think the Animated toyline will flop, and if it's a success like I expect it to be, it may be better business sense to push it at the expense of Universe.

I think TF:A could have several good years in it, and I'm sure there'll be some overlap with the movie sequels. They could manage 2 overlapping TF lines, but I'm not sure they'd want to have 3.

There'll probably always be a demand for Classicverse figures, and with that in mind, it wouldn't surprise me if Hasbro winds up putting it on the backburner. They're the sort of thing that will probably sell even without all the hype. What I'd like is if they pushed new Classicsverse figures instead of bloating the other lines like they did with all those non-movie movieline figures we got.

I don't really mind if they do put it on the backburner, so long as they get back to it eventually. What would bother me is if it becomes a repaint dumping ground.

We're of a very similar mind!!
I think Classiverse will permanently be a back-up/safety net to other lines. And I don't have a problem with that either.
This may actually motivate them to keep pushing out new molds.
Although I'd like to see them handle things for the actual classic characters a little bit differently...
Paying more attention to scale, and not making characters such as Blaster poor repaints would be nice.
My question is this:
If the line continues, it seems that they'll run out of G1 Decepticon characters quickly (whether repainted or not). So,

*Once they get through the Combaticons, Stunticons, and Insecticons(if they even make them), who's left?
I don't want "Insecticons" that have different, non-insect alt modes.
I guess there's Cyclonus, and Scourge....
I bring this up because I could see the line going to that repaint dumping ground that we fear.

That didn't occur to me, but it's a good point. There's probably ways around it though. For one thing, they generally seem to wind up doing more autobots than decepticons anyway. For another, G1 is huge, so there's always more depending on how deep you want to go and how obscure you want to get.

I've never been keen on Insecticons, but I do like Cyclonus and Scourge. Given that they're already doing Galvatron, I was almost expecting one or other or both of them.

Put it this way: nothing would please me more than to see them get to the point where running out of decepticons becomes an issue.

I'm still torn on that Galvatron. It has the best looking Galavtron head sculpt I think they've ever done, but he's drastically lacking in looking intimidating and powerful. Also, the grey tank mode bothers me...maybe I'll have to attempt my first repaint on him...

Again, I agree with you... I want to see Scourge and Cyclonus waaay before the Insecticons.
In fact, I'd like to see them before they do get through all of the Stunticons and Combaticons.
I hope they get to the point of a Decepticon character shortage too...
Maybe they'd release a decent set of Constructicons and give all 6 of them the justice they deserve!!!!

I'm still holding out hope that they'll do a larger scale Galvatron, much the same as they did 2 different scale Megatrons in Classics 1.0

I hope you're right, and I hope he has a more "accurate" alt-mode.
I don't mind fiddling with the design, but Galvatron just isn't a gunmetal grey tank, he's a purple cannon thing, or pistol thing, or jet thing. With a good head mold, a great bot mode, purple overall colourscheme and an orange canonno I wouldn't be too concerned what he turned in to.
