And I'm here sitting with no Grand Galvatron ever coming because he was exclusive and importing from an importer goes against every fiber in my body.

...why is that?

Because the BBTS, TFSource and all others include the amount it cost them to ship these from china cause no one is distributing it locally. Thats fine for US citizens, it doesnt come out to that much more than when they import the non exclusives (25$ more I think). But now I have to ship it to me whch is an exra 25.39$.

Lets make it simple:

Superion from japan cost me $ 135 US shipped to canada last year

Since I cant import Grand Galvatron directly, I must get him from places that already imported him so:
$ 159.99 US + $ 25.39 to ship = $ 185.38 US

Thats 50$ more. And thats IF it doesnt get caught by the government at customs, whch would make me pay an extra 15% of the product fee (remember that the product coming from the US was priced higher than the Japanese product) plus 20$ for handling by the customs agent. So Grand Galvatron would cost me 185.38*1.15 +20 = $233 USD. So this versus $ 135 USD for Superion.

And remember I am in Canada, so that becomes $ 292 CDN. And $ 1 CDN in canada gets you the same as $ 1 USD in the US.

So because of doubly importing the product I end up paying almost 300$ for Grand Galvatron.

Thats why

Yeah but that will just spare the tax and duty fee, its still upwards of 230$ cdn and I dont have that kind of dough for a combiner. The other option is Ages 3 and Up since shipping is only 10$ (US) but then since they are in canada they automatically charge the 15% tax, thats nice. So I am not better off there either. Also I find it kind of crappy that a canadian company is charging me in US$, but I guess its because they have more business with the states and preffer keeping a single currency for accounting reasons. They probably also pay their suppliers in US$.

Just as a reference, Computron will cost me 170$ cdn total.

I dig him too, he's fine. And I am very comfortable saying that Motormaster looks better than either of the Onslaughts.

Won't be surprised if this ends up being the best set of the entire line.
Difficult for me to find fault in any aspect of it.

Same here, I really think he will be the true winner of CW/UW when all is said and done. Albeit, he does have the breakdown/wheeljack mold :-?

Tough to say who I'll like better between Motormaster and Onslaught (don't have him yet).
They're fairly different characters. Never saw Onslaught as a real tough badass bot...
Where as Motormaster seemed like a legit brut. Maybe a meathead brut, but still a brut.
Just saying this because I think the mold really does work for Onslaught.

Also, I will never own the CW or UW Wheeljack, so that will be the only one of that exact mold in my collection. And I think it works really well for Lightspeed.
Imo 3/4 limbs for UW Comp almost look like they could be from a 3rd party company.
Which I think is a good thing.

I'm guessing you're not mocking him on purpose, going off-topic with the very post he used to keep the thread on topic.

Back to Unite Warriors.

I'm going to backtrack a bit on my previous assessment on the Cyclonus component. I've always preferred comic accuracy to cartoon accuracy, and UW Cyclonus's silvery-blue paint job is actually close to Galvatron in the Marvel comics, so I'm gonna count that as a plus. I still like the rich purple on Hasbro's better, and I still don't care for Roller, but I think I will pick up this set with my next bonus check, if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg by the middle of June.

I took Cyclonus' deco to be an homage to his 86 movie color scheme.

I like big ole purple-y Hasbro CW Cyclonus too, he's a great toy and the colors pop, but I don't mind me some 86 movie colors every now and again.

Man why did they put the RCS above the cockpit Windows on blast off? That's doesn't make sense. Even aesthetically cause it's ugly looking. :( Blast Off why can't you be perfect like Groove. Why?
I have been into transformers since 1984.
While I love G1 I also love new innovations and takes on the characters.
I prefer official Hasbro releases of stuff for the most part
I'm not a huge fan of Japanese original Transformers media or designs.
It's easier for me to say which are my LEAST favorite toy lines: Beast Machines, Robots in Disguise.
TFCon List: Classics Skywarp, General Optimus, BW Airrazor, Transmetal Tarantulus, Alternity Prime, Fire Convoy

For the sake of having them be on his chest in robot mode. It seems they designed this figure around two key aspects of his robot mode: Those RCS on his chest and his thruster feet. The results speak volumes about how they probably shouldn't have done that.

Ooh you'd know by now I follow the rules and not a mocker but really, it did just get to me he looks a lot like Burn unless those pics he posts here with Devastator iirc isn't him.

Back to the topic. With all zem nize figs coming (anime Red Alert which need to be paid as in stat, Bruticus this June and the Headmasters), the funds are kinda tight and I so want this Grand Galvatron! The Cyclonus mold for the Hb is good but the light purple of the TT knocks it off the park! Starscream and the conehead retool are the other incentives that make it so yummy. Hope it will still be available by September :-(

Then comes that Computicon release.............my wallet hemorrhage never stops!

Yeah, the more I see of that blastoff the more dissapointed I am. All it has over Hasbro is that it's a shuttle but that's it.it's not like thats toy is any better besides that.

I am now thinking I should just skip bruticus all together. Th only new molds being offered in either set are the least appealing of the bunch.

For the sake of having them be on his chest in robot mode. It seems they designed this figure around two key aspects of his robot mode: Those RCS on his chest and his thruster feet. The results speak volumes about how they probably shouldn't have done that.

Say it isn't so, WJ88!! But, don't forget the awesome addition to Vortex... ;)

In actuality, I have been considering dropping my preorder for this as well. I have Hasbro's version. I have United Computron preordered to get a retooled version of BlastOff....

(I answer to Ag or Ags. Agamemnon is too long to type. Plus, there is something elemental about calling me Ag. :-D )

Don't say that, at least try to get the hasbro release at a good price, the newest brawls are supposed to be pretty tight (he's my fave limb of the set) and 'slaught is just a treat; maybe score them with that great tru exploit you get ;)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

If my Victorion score works out for the cheap price I got her for (Megatronus shall let me know soon enough) Then the $46 I saved will fit perfectly for Computron and make up for the extra cost it will be over hasbro. So excited for him!! :MAXIMAL:
