I don't think the turret will rotate if it was something that could of been done normally it would of been in the Hasbro version it's not like different paint or completely new molding like the Vortex rotors and the new Groove and Blastoff molds.

You forget, this is Hasbro. Their cheapness/incompetence at times is mythical.

Looking at reviews of how Brawl works it should be possible. What they'd need to do is put the hinges that connect the turret to the back "levers" on a turntable.

I really wish Takara would stop taking the animation models quite so seriously. I've never noticed in 30 some years that G1 Bruticus had different colored feet that corresponded with Brawl and Swindle. It looks OK in the animation model because of the simplicity of the cartoon style, but on a complex toy like Combiner Wars Bruticus, different colored feet just look goofy on that toy.

Do you mean are the new 4 bladed rotors shorter or are you confusing it for Vortex having shorter 2 rotor blades?

I mean the length of the individual blades on his main rotor look longer to me

The blue and the rotor on Vortex look bad the rotor is cool on Bruticus but it's not going to look good in bot mode for Vortex and I think Vortex looks a lot like movie Incinerator more so then G1 Vortex.



Brawl and Swindle are probably the same as Hasbro outside of some arguably fancier paint.


Onslaught looks pretty bad with the really bright cartoon colors and that brown Bruticus colors on him in bot mode and truck mode in other words he is too blue and the brown is executed awfully.




The best choice would be a mix between Hasbro and Takara with Hasbro Onslaught and Vortex with the rest using Takara versions although Brawl and Swindle wont suffer from using Hasbro's colors.

So? Is saying that the Takara version is better than Hasbro's not just YOUR opinion? Pot meet kettle. Personally I prefer Hasbro's, I like that he gets two legs that are proportionate to each other and two arms that are thinner than the legs but proportionate to one another. The takara blast off looks to bulky to me in arm mode. Point is, we're allowed to feel differently on things and at least Deadput provided reasons to his point of view.

For what it's worth. I've had the combiner wars figures both hasbro and takara. I just can't get into them. Something just seems to missing from them all. While this is a nice looking set I'm done with CW. Only titan returns figure I'm looking forward to is Fort Max.

I think you're pretty right with that. I personally prefer the Hasbro version for most of the combaticons. I don't care if Blastoff is a jet because the arm from a jet looks a lot better than this. The shuttle arm looks ridiculously huge compared to Vortex as an arm.

The colors are just hideous to me. I like the grey head but that's it. He looks like a rainbow just threw up all over him....now there's a mental image.

Well, that is the benefit for you to get the hasbro release, but for others (myself included) hasbro's doesn't cut it because we seperate ours into the team for display; again, whether you got hasbro's or TT's its a win-win

Agreed here. I actually like the chest plate on this Bruticus better and Vortex having 4 blades would be awesome for me, but I really like my Swindle, I don't really care if the turret rotates, and to me Blastoff make more sense as a jet and the jet mold to me at least works better than the new shuttle mode. Great options for different crowds.

Well, that is the benefit for you to get the hasbro release, but for others (myself included) hasbro's doesn't cut it because we seperate ours into the team for display; again, whether you got hasbro's or TT's its a win-win

I put them in individuals bots once in a while but I am also an adult. I don't need to throw a fit over a toy. I can afford Takaras elbows but at the end of the day who am I trying to impress with transformers? It's a toy. Who cares? Elbows or not it's still an awesome toy and arguably the best combiner made. I don't need two guys with elbows to do the job. And if you're just displaying them, do the elbows on scrapper really tie the room together? More than likely no and if it really does and you look at a collection of toys and go "AGH! This two guys out of all these toys that don't have elbows really ruin this whole look" think there's more problems than just elbows.

The spinning turret is not much different and it has no real issue being a part of the stability. However, the design chosen for the turret means that considering the turret is on top of a large hinge piece there would need to be some new pieces and some reworking done on and inside the turret as a whole, so I am not convinced by a change to a moving turret due to the reworking of the system

Takara makes their toys for collectors and is probably made much less mass retail so they can paint their toys in fancy glitter or whatever else people go crazy for compared to Hasbro who is a lot more about mass retail.

But it IS incompetence. For CW Brawl (a toy released in 2015) to be lacking a feature that G1 Brawl (a toy nearly 30 years older) had is pathetic.

Quality will always triumph quantity.

I'm no "LOL HASBLOW SUCKS TROLOLOLOLOLOL" idiot- I prefer a lot of Hasbro's decisions over Takara's (I much prefer Rook to Deluxe Groove, Hasbro Dragstrip over Takara Dragstrip etc)- but you don't need to defend each and every stupid decision they make. It's making you sound like some kind of corporate apologist.
