The vintage 1986 bruticus toy uses a chest plate that does nothing and does not intragrate which I know drives you bananas. At least the cartoon chestplate attempts a form of parts integration. Im suprised you wouldnt support that.

Except that, on Bruticus's animation model, Blast Off still has his wings folded onto his arm mode like on toy.

Those little brown flaps on the Blast Off forearm are the shuttle's wings.

Indeed, but the CW toy manages to replicate the look of the chestplate without actually using a separate piece, so you have the best of both worlds. Plus, the only ways to achieve the cartoon-accurate shuttle chest wing would be either fake kibble (which sucks) or removing bits of Blast Off and sticking them on the chest (which would potentially affect structural integrity and would have to either be comically huge on Blast Off or pathetically small on Bruticus.

So in short? No. Toy accuracy all the way.

Eh, I guess. I still prefer the grey chest piece. It makes him look more cohesive.

The question of what they will do to Vortex' rotors comes to mind if they really have four blades. On the Alpha Bravo/Blades/Vortex mold, the blades/rotor are all attached to that dongly flappy bit, which only can tilt up and down just enough to let it stay out of the way of all the other parts while transforming.

In arm/leg/robot mode, the rear rotors are in the way so that the main rotors can't spin. The best thing to do is fold in the blades and rotate up, then tuck the blades between the fins of the rear rotor so they don't flop around anywhere.

With the Takara version, it looks like all four main rotors will be unfolded. The rear tail rotor fins will be in the way so they can't spin around without bumping into something. If that dongly, flappy bit is still used to anchor the main rotors, options will be limited. Obviously, folding all four main rotor blades would cause.... issues.

Oh yes - and hopefully, Takara will do something to fix Brawl's infamous flapping crotch issues.

Sure, it fits the character's name, but not the theme of the group. I know it's a rather unpopular opinion to have, but that and the obvious scale issue made me welcome the jet version for CW Brute, just like Legends class Groove with CW Defensor (although I still like the design of Deluxe Groove, and I hope it gets retooled for Afterburner, who can be any size he wants as an alien motorcycle).

Already confirmed thats gonna happen on Hasbro's side. Here is out first look at afterburner for CW Computron:

Blastoff being a jet doesn't really bother me, but given the choice I'd take the shuttle any day, even if it makes no sense both in scale and COMBATicon senses. Geewun, baybay!

Also cool if they're giving Vortex a more accurate rotor, but I'd really rather, if they were to retool something, have them "fix" Onslaught's big back cannon. It just bugs me that it's made of straight recolors of Hotspot's guns stuck to a new part. I understand it'd probably be a more expensive change, but hey, I'm just wishing over here.

Nerd rage in 3,2,1...Hasbro and Takara are in kahoots!!! Hasbro releases the Protectobots without a deluxe Groove, then Takara later announces it will be producing a deluxe Groove. After Hasbro releases the Combaticons, it is now announced Takara will release a proper Blastoff.
I know I should've expected this but...#$%&!...I already went all in with Hasbro's Combaticons. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Except in all likelihood, the groove was probably in the planning stages for use as the technobot; but TT may have chosen to use it as Groove once the option was available, not sure about shuttle-off and the 4-prop vortex >:oP

Maybe it would've killed them to give the victorion twins the 4-prop rotor piece :BANG_HEAD:

Today is a good day! I ordered Devastar. Amiami had him on backorder, so I did some digging. I was a little discouraged by the results at first. All the US retailers had him at around $220 (a fair price), with or without free shipping. HLJ and 1999 (Japan-based retailers) both had prices higher than Amiami's. But I kept searching and I found that not only did Nippon-Yassan have him for under 20,000 yen, they had him for 17,180 yen, which is less even than Amiami's listed price of 18,730 yen. With EMS shipping he came out to just under $200 USD after conversion, and he should be here by week's end. Oh happy day!

If you want to get him, the listing is here.

I don't think Rubber has to decay - heck I don't think in many cases it even is rubber just a soft plastic - O-rings are usually actually rubber so they will got tail up eventually - I've been looking through my really Old Action Force/Gi Joe and I only had 3 or 4 really floppy ones and 1 that had broken, curiously the much newer Sonic-viper Figure had gone really floppy but the 1982/83 stuff was still fine - different materials supplier later on perhaps.

Either that Or I just hadn't kept them near a radiator, all my Visionaries & Cops figures are fine too.

Anyway regarding rubber tires - I had an Inferno where the tire separated along the mould line. but I've NEVER had any crumble - the closest to any noticeable harm I've noticed is some 2nd hand Junker 2001 RID Autobot cars have tires that look pock marked but They were not mine so I have no idea if someone left them in full sun or by a radiator (all my own original Car Robots ones are fine, so are the Universe ones) none of my G1 toys tires are damaged at all - even junker Minibots, heck even a badly light damaged Beachcomber I've got has perfect tires.

The worst thing I can think of is the surface of the hose on my radioshack style Grey KO Shockwave has gone a little grey looking.

I suspect if you live in say Arizona you will suffer problems if you live in say Norway then not so much.

In all honesty I really don't care about the size of how big groove or blast off would be in toy form cause scale sometimes doesn't work at all but just makes some awesome bot teams though but scalewise for UW or CW figures don't usually work out too much, but people likening groove as a legends figure more than a deluxe figure I can understand but I do find it silly how people sometimes prefer grooves replacement rook because he "scales better" which isn't true cause you need to consider rooks alt mode heck in real life he would be probably bigger than an real life hot spot

I think that with cars you don't notice the scale difference as much, but you have a bike that's as big if not bigger than a car in places, then you start to think that they are being a bit silly. What is good though is that every taste is catered for :)

Long story short to catch up here: Grand Galvatron is simply amazing and the best takara exclusiveI have ever seen.

I love that they are adding the extra rotors to Vortex. and Blastoff looks like an aerialbot retool to me, albeit very extensive, just with the way the shoulder looks with the "shuttle front" :BOT:

Hey, long time no see, D :-D

He could indeed be an extensive re-tooling of an aerialbot, I see no reason why not, as they essentially share shoulders, but, they may have wanted to make him more 'blast-off' with the shuttle nose becoming his arms, that was pretty iconic of the figure :-?

Hey screamer! Just got off break, so I'm catchin back up and I'm here to stay for a while too! Actually, with the way the aerialbots arms and jet fronts do transform, I could see Blastoff using the arms as the jet front and still using similar transformation. hmm :BOT:

My Devastor has shipped. Hype level: 20%.

As for Liokaiser, I want to think that Takara would create a proper six-bot team, but making two deluxe molds that merge into a voyager-sized torso for combiner figures is a new one. I'm not saying it's impossible, but I think it presents a unique set of challenges, especially in where they place the combiner ports. I guess we'll see what happens.

It wouldn't be very difficult, there is a long history of combination styles that they could draw from, and they would probably go the devastator route and use special clips (like from energon) for the abdomen to retain his non-scrambling design :-?
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

I'm referring more to where they put the sockets for the arms and legs of Liokaiser to attach to, since they'll have to either have beefy deluxes or combine areas to compensate for the lack of natural bulk a voyager figure would have in its arms and legs. But maybe I'm overthinking it, we'll see what happens.
