That's because TT uses more paint in those portraits than hasbro uses on the figures :HEADHURTS:

not for me is that the reason, the could have all the paint apps they want, the figures are lackluster to me and very cheaply done. this line has nothing on the generations line or classics line. if we had that quality of a figure in the cw id feel it was worth the money to drop on takara or hasbros version. For me personally i dont see the value. My devy is decent, but mensor and the rest well ya........... :BOT: :CON:

Well it's far from fair to compare menasor to any other combiner in the line, he's easily the weakest of the line - and the exception to boot.

well thats my imo, and honestly u really think that the indivdual bot modes are are soild and well done as generations or the classic line?

mensor is the weakest, defensor is pretty terrible too, he does look better then mensor, but thats like comparing 2 turds and having to pick which one u like most.

the whole line suffers for cheaper plastic and inflated prices for what u are getting.

But thats my IMO and as a consumer and collector for 15 yrs, i can see crap and call it for what it is, esp when u have seen and collected the products before hand. i respect u like the line, and im not dogging u or anyone that does, i just feel im not getting my moneys worth, other then devy in the line.

to each their own!

Certainly, but I haven't - and won't pay full price for them; the plastic doesn't feel the greatest, but many of them are solidly built (rook, dragstrip, prowl, breakdown, and all of the torso figures jump to mind for satisfactory figures) honestly thrilling 30 megs feels worse to me - and has thinner plastic than any of the cw figs, but I don't see anyone complaining about him;

But seriously, if you think hasbro's dev's is a good deal at full price, my respect for any of this goes straight out the window, as he is more hollow, uses thinner plastic of noticeably lower quality, and has most of his standard features stripped to get hasbro more money.

I like him. Don't give a hoot what anyone else thinks.

Call me crazy (and this is a generalisation post, not aimed at anyone in particular) but I get the vibe from those who are pro-TT Devastator that they look down on those of us who are happy with Hasbros Devastator.

meh, whatever, my collection, like I said, don't give a hoot. >:oP

That's out of context >:oP

It's not that, I actually respect that those who want a good devs and little else, can get the hasbro version, I won't condone paying full price, if you do, that's you; my problem lies with calling out the cw scramble figs as cheap trash (I immediately get flashbacks to cw magnus, my standard for ko quality figs) when devs exemplifies everything that is being condemned... I've seen stress marks develop on the shoulders of the individual figs in the course of reviews...

I'm just trying to understand his arguement, but there isn't one; some of the aerialbots' plastic isn't the best, but I've heard - and experienced - nothing but great things with the scramble city figs - and I have all of them but o/p. So it's a little hard to swallow this crap when it isn't substantiated by anything solid; none of them feel as flimsy as 30's megs, or as fragile as gen arcee.

I'm still not sure what there is to be so upset about these, other than the lackluster paint apps, or that the line could have been spread out and included non-combining deluxes/voyagers - but whatever >:oP

Classics no, but definitely better than the previous generations figures. You handled rattrap and scoop right? That plastic was abysmal. Those figures didnt feel right. Just look at the pieces that make up rattrap's hind legs for an example of that el cheapo feeling. What about bltizwing and double dealer? The failure twins! I find every figure in CW better than that mold. Then there is the undisputed cheapest plastic ever: the foc line, which was under generations. Thats where generations grimlock comes from and he is the most hallowed out toy we have ever gotten and also has that super cheap feeling.

So yeah CW is, to me, a return to form. The plastic feels sturdier and the toys are getting bsck to their older and bigger sizes for their class.

I chose TT Devulator over CW. Just personal preference.
Now that I have him in hand, I'm happy for anybody who can play with this awesome toy. In any version.
He's not a hollow mess, and he is a mountain of fun!

Everyone has different experiences with figures. I have a Whirl that has to be left outside because he stinks so badly. I had to take a blade to UW Blades to transform him into robot mode because the tail fin was locked in place that hard if I'd used finger force I would have snapped it.

People vent about figures others don't have problems with, it happens. Everyone has a different opinion and experiences, you just have to learn to accept that, more so if you're going to be staff. :-D

I certainly hope I've never come across as condescending to anyone chose CW Devs over UW Devs. And if I have, I apologize. I completely respect that BURN really only wants Devastator, and I myself was very tempted to get him and live with the less articulated bots in order to save almost $100. But I'm also really REALLY excited to actually have him in hand.

Estimated delivery is tomorrow, so I'm hopeful. Then again, it used to be yesterday, so who knows.

Well, he talks about this as if he owns them, but it doesn't seem be the case. If this isn't the case, he should have specified, as waffling about things like this after only watching a review of the figure - or whatever is the case - is very ineffective.

I'm sorry to hear about your blades,my first hotspot came covered in rust, I think everyone knows what happened to my cw magnus (much like your whirl, another famous entry in the annals of qc failures), and my quickslinger came with his tail-point-thing - below his tailfin - bent at a 90 degree angle, so I had to snap it off - I knew there was no way I was gonna get a replacement.

Need to clarify something......autobot411 doesn't see the worth of either line, CW or UW but of the entire release, only Devs is decent?

If I got it right, then I feel he has to move further back until just after GF as indeed I feel the plastic quality has been lowered.

Hollowed parts aren't a new phenomena/business decision except it's getting more and more conspicious. In an ideal world, TT/Hb would be using the plastics similar to the ones used by Bandai (who also uses hollow parts butthis is more due to functionality than cost cutting). Anyways, even in their SoC line, Bandai too goes into cost cutting (Daltanious for example lacks a certain component seen in the anime)mode too. But then again, different target customers /market/blah blah blah.......

Put UW Defensor together tonight. Streetwise's hips are incredibly loose so my streak with that mold continues, and the torso suffers from some bad combiner lean when you raise the arms. At least the Hasbro version of Hot Spot lasted a day or two.

I just played with Streetwise and one of his rear wheels popped off. Barely even touched it.

Try ratcheting up the hips one notch backwards, though that in turn gives him the backward lean syndrome.

Woah, I didn't know this since I don't have the CW version but these pics of hook's alt mode just keep busting the myth that Hasbro has more paint apps on their Devy.

The takara one has extra silver panels on the alt mode along with more paint around the hook area.

I guess Takara opted for a bit less paint on Bonecrusher and Longhaul to keep them show accurate but instead doubled down on the alt modes.

Has anyone experienced any stress marks in UW-02 fists? the hole that holds Menasor's sword, has one already.

I've got them in cw dead end and neck brace's hand/foot things; I don't think they were tooled with properly measured anything. Their fists don't hold anything but the mufflers, the cw fist they come with doesn't fit any of their ports, and the fist itself can't hold anything, I forced it to hold the sword and stress marks appeared along the thumb joint area; streetwise has less, but similar problems, fortunately, prowl has fixed all of those issue (I believe, I can double check once I get home)
I am not a G1 fan, please treat my opinions as such.

Devastator just came. And I think I just did too. ;)

I only have ten minutes to check him out before I go to work. Almost there, baby. Soon.
Back at it again!

Seen this several times now. It's "Break-Neck" (or in Takara's toy's case, "Wildrider").
