I think he means that they aren't officially combiners by the Japanese perspective. As I don't believe the IDW comics have been translated over there, hence, Takara has no perspective on the fiction, hence, they wouldn't release a character that combines when in the original cartoon, he didn't.

Actually, they are getting the IDW comics in Japan. They're just a little behind us right now. Last I heard, they were in the midst of "All Hail Megatron".

Are Takara releasing cyclonus? Cause I've not heard anything about him...and he's in the same league as sky lynx being a torso with no set team.

I can see them releasing sky lynx, just not maybe in the unite warriors line

But Skylynx is getting a team assigned to him in toy form, just as Optimus is, so that is why they would do it. Cyclonus has no assigned team in the Hasbro toyline so I don't think they would release him, unless it's similar to how they released Scourge.

I'm likewise in a position to not settle for second best. I'm thinking of processing an order with Anime Export tonight, but I've never before dealt with them. Are they trustworthy if I am paying upfront like this?

I wish I could say. I've never ordered from them before. Where's Megatronus? He sure has been quiet lately. I think he has some experience with them.

I know I'm nobody to you guys, never really post, just lurk. That being said, I've ordered quite a bit from anime-export and I've never had a problem. I usually go with HLJ just because it means I don't have to pay for it right away, but whenever I go through anime-export, there's never a problem.

He's a pretty good set of toys! I look forward to writing a review of them.

I like 'em! (Which is good, since the order I just got in also included a black set eventually destined for Defensor!) As far as blending... I assume you mean colour-wise? I think they look fine.

I will admit it was a bit tough any time I saw an Aerialbot in the store... but getting the whole team in one shot, with all the members I wanted, and also with (at least in my opinion, which is the most important one for my own purchases) superior decos... and all for not that much more (about $30) then the Hasbro version? Seems like a no brainer to me.

The cost difference for Defensor is going to be a little harder to swallow... But (a) I really want that Groove, and (b) even after you also figure in the cost of the PE hands & feet, he'll still be less than what I had previously been used to paying for third party gestalts. So in the end, it'll still be worth it.

I'll use them with the UW Superion as additional members, with Powerglide as a weapon for Superion and Alpha Bravo as a backup member in case any of the main four limbs gets injured and needs to be swapped out.

Hasbro PG is my Superion gattling gun with addition Gundam pen colore paints for added highlights. TAV PG is my 'bot and plane.

I'm still really pissed about Menasor's shoulders. They fall apart if you try and move the arms even a little bit. ruins it for me. Defensor has better shoulder locking.

I ended up buying 2 Motormasters because of that. First one had that problem thought it was just mine because reviews I saw didn't have that issue(my Optimus doesn't have the issue) and my second Motormaster has the the same problem. It's not a huge gripe for me because his legs and stance are a bigger issue. All in all I like menasor a lot, he's "solid" for the most part.
