What matters is, is it a cool toy?

Deluxe Groove looks to be a cool toy. And, he is a limb for Defensor, which is part of what Groove is to me.

If you* like Rook, and if you like Legends Groove, then cool for you... especially since we're both getting what we want, thus everyone should be happy.

*That is a general "you." This post isn't specifically directed at you, That Bot. Just wanted to make that clear, since I started by quoting you. But, I gather we're actually in agreement! I quoted you as a natural springboard for my comment, not out of a desire to rebut your comment. ;)

I am not too happy that it is costing way more to get the Deluxe Groove mold than any other mold so far. Sorry to be such a debbie downer but I still find it's exclusivity to Takaratomy mall in the japanese market to be such an odd choice for a product of the main UW line.

Just give it time and, eventually, Rook will be a leg for Prime.

I will grant that that part is a bit annoying. All things considered, it would be nice if Takara's Defensor wasn't an exclusive. Or, for those who'd prefer not to pay import prices, if we could know to expect one from Hasbro. But at least we're getting one.

Deluxe Groove costing too much, though, is a different thing to me then people arguing which scale class is appropriate to the character. So yes, the inflated cost of it being not only an import, but an exclusive import is something legitimate to be grumpy about. I'm a bit grumpy about it too. But on the issue of, "Groove should be Legends because scale makes sense!" vs. "Groove should be Deluxe because he should be a limb!" On that issue, both are being made, so as I said, everyone should be happy.

Evidently, this is precisely the kind of kid scale logic Hasbro had in mind when choosing to make Groove smaller.

To a kid, vehicles meant to hold one person at a time are smaller than vehicles meant to hold multiple people at a time, but the vehicles of that latter category can all be the same size regardless of how differently-sized they are in real life (i.e. - a space shuttle vs. a Jeep)

Yay! I contributed something useful!

It's true - some of the mass shifting was just easier to swallow than others :) Even I winked at a Space shuttle turning into an 'arm' sized attachment to a missile trailer in Bruticus. I laughed at ALL the Cons fitting inside Astrotrain in the 85 movie, but didn't make much of a fuss over it. And I thought it merely an odd paradox that broadside turns from an aircraft carrier INTO a jet...

Wizard!

Yeah, I think we are all reaching a similar understanding and agreement in this thread. Even agreeing with X who has some pretty good points about the robots scaling with each other in robot mode (which I feel is important to recreate some scenes from the show). And it makes sense that we are all agreeing in the Takara thread since this is the version of the line that has embraced the goofiness of scale the best :)

I think it's pretty funny that there are still so many "conversations" about scale...
And yeah at one point, back in 2007, I too was sucked into similar conversations.
Just figured by now that would be a buried horse.
Almost as funny as this forum member who seriously attacked me and others about how stupid it was to speculate/discuss Hasbro ever releasing deluxe-sized seekers since they had been at Botcon...
Boy, he showed us... We were all IDIOTS!!!!

Anyway, just wanted to voice my surprise that people haven't been more excited about the Unite Warriors Stunticons...
I know it's not new news.
However, most of those characters haven't been given solid, non-exclusive or non-third-party dues as figures.
Offroad isn't a Sunticon, and imo, the deco's of the Unite versions are much much better.
Motormaster and Dragstrip alone were enough for me to buy.
Again, just my opinion, but Hasbro's Dragstrip is not good... The yellow-orange is not great, and the red-violet is just too much... I think I may have been okay if it were true purple... But when you look at that color (which I would almost call "Raspberry) next to purple,
again, I just can't stand it. It almost looks like it's a mistake.

Anyone else agree that this set is better than Hasbro's offerings and worth the extra $$$?

If you don't own one then go for it. If you already have the Hasbro ver, well do a "Two-face" if you can't decide.

As of right now I'm not getting any of the Autobots (except for Hotspot),
so I'm getting both versions of the Stunticons... Already pre-ordered the Unite Warriors version.
Speaking of which:

With such being the case with the Airbots, I don't see why the Stuntrons wouldn't. ;)

Hmmmmm.... This will probably affect whether or not I keep them MISB...
Would've been more likely to do this if they were in bot modes.
Well, I haven't opened any of my Hasbro Stunticons yet...

I could see why people would say this, but I personally really prefer when the figures resemble the cartoon versions as closely as possible.
I don't think any of the Hasbro versions look bad, except for Dragstrip.
I also think the UW vehicle modes look quite a bit better; cleaner, and again, more cartoon accurate.
