What could they do, really? Will it be a situation as it is apparently with Legends Trypticon, where Takara is basically releasing the Hasbro version in their market with minimal changes?
Likely just give them more cartoon-accurate decoes. I doubt there'd be any tooling they'd want to change; the tooling right now is about as accurate as could be.
I just checked the cartoon representations of the clones. Hasbro's Fastlane and Cloudraker look pretty much on point with their G1 cartoon selves.
OR
Cuz, Takara would go with the first one above.

The peg used to hold the spoiler would work as a handle.

If they release him at all. After all he's a straight retool, and a US-exclusive character at that, thus his chances are pretty slim. Same thing for Krok. I'm still waiting on Lightfoot (Getaway) to set the trend, but no sight of him yet.
We still have a few releases left, including:
- the Jumpstarters Topspin and Twin Twist. Whirl and Roadbuster have been acknowledged as Marvel UK Wreckers (with tophats, monocles and posh accent to match), so nothing stopping them from getting released.
- Decepticon Clones Pounce & Wingspan aka the Clonetron (in Japan, Cybertron subgroups end in "-bot", and Destron ones in "-tron"). We got the Clonebots Fastlane & Cloudraker, finish the set!
- Mini-Bot Seaspray, just 'cause.
- Windblade to end the phase with a bang, ideally with Scorchfire as Nijika, her sister.
- the Headmaster Warriors Lione, Shuffler and Toraizer.
- Black Shadow will get turned into an exclusive, mark my words!
After that, who knows? I'm predicting the Prime Masters to have the face plates retooled and released as the standard Pretenders. Only one missing from that line-up so far is Diver or Waverider.
None of the ones listed in JelZe's bullet points were Masterforce characters, though.chuckdawg1999 wrote:JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:chuckdawg1999 wrote:Any idea when the Headmaster part of Legends will end? How many of those figures might get held off until what I can assume is their Masterforce tribute line?

Plus, the Legends line currently has a ton of Masterforce characters in its fiction in addition to The Headmasters characters, so the time for Takara to be releasing Masterforce characters is now.
Another possibility could be (since Takara would undoubtedly treat the new toys as new body forms for the two) that Takara might just release Buster and Hydra on their own without any accompanying Prime Masters, relying solely on their classic combined jet gimmick (and possibly on a new combiner limb gimmick if the two really can form combiner limbs like their original mold owners could), and giving them a new backstory of their having finally become fully integrated with their Transtectors, no longer being separate Cyberdroid-like entities from their Transtectors after their having given up their humanity to Devil Z to become full-fledged super robot lifeforms.Emerje wrote:The PotP gimmick is pretty close to a PM/GM gimmick, I could see Dreadwind and Blackwing released as Hydra and Buster with retooled Prime Masters that have engines on their backs instead of sparks.
Alternately, Takara could release their Overlord with three Titan Master molds: One brand new that resembles a mini-Overlord (a la Takara's Sixshot Headmaster resembling a mini-Sixshot) and forms Overlord's head, while the other two would be the Ominus and Dreadnaut molds as Mega and Giga (or lookalikes of them since Mega and Giga died at the end of Masterforce) but retooled to have new engine block backpacks instead of face backpacks so as to let them fit into Overlord's chest cavities like the G1 toy and Masterforce cartoon.Emerje wrote:I feel like Takara Tomy will do something like that with Overlord, giving the figure a permanent head and two GMs with proper engines on the backs instead of faces. I know, we said the same about Super Ginrai, but he doesn't have a GM slot on his chest, Overlord has two.
